A Dangerous Political Move

I remember reading 20 years ago about the hesitancy of certain Israeli leaders to travel to certain European countries. The thinking was that it was at least a possibility that they’d be arrested and tried for war crimes. Of course, such charges would be absurd, but it was still a thing. Some EU officials seemed to give credence to the validity of such a move. Ariel Sharon for example would be careful about where he traveled.

This is the reality of a world inhabited by left-wing operatives that seek to impose their own reality on the rest of us. For example, they ignore the insane, murderous acts of the PLO, but want to punish Israel for self-defense.

No one made a move in all those years to try Yasser Arafat for war crimes. The psychotic dwarf murdered men, women, and children. Yet he was turned into a “statesman” by the West, and hosted 13 times in the Lincoln Bedroom by Bill Clinton.

(By contrast, Bibi Netanyahu was lied to by Clinton at the Wye Accords, where he was told that upon returning to Israel, he would take with him the long-time political prisoner, Jonathan Pollard. Clinton then “changed his mind” as the Israelis were packing their bags.)

Now comes word the useless UN is engaging in its own mendacity where it concerns the Jewish state:

“The United Nations General Assembly on Thursday approved an open-ended international investigation into Israel’s treatment of Palestinians, which was first set up following Israel’s conflict with the Hamas terror group earlier this year.

“In May, the UN’s Human Rights Council voted to create the investigation after the UN rights chief said Israeli forces may have committed war crimes and faulted the Hamas terror group for violations of international law in their 11-day conflict earlier that month.

“The resolution called for the creation of a permanent ‘Commission of Inquiry’ — the most potent tool at the council’s disposal — to monitor and report on rights violations in Israel, the Gaza Strip and the West Bank. It would be the first such commission of inquiry with an ‘ongoing’ mandate.”

That’s PERMANENT commission. Because Israel is so evil. And note, our tax dollars will go to support this travesty.

A total of 134 countries voted to approve this, eight did not, and here is a sampling of the 34 abstentions:

“Israel, the US, Hungary and the Pacific nations of the Marshall Islands, Micronesia, Nauru, Palau and Papua New Guinea opposed the move. Australia, Austria, Canada, Brazil and Germany were among the abstentions.”

I’m almost surprised that the US voted no, given the Marxist, jihadist elements now in the White House. And notice only three European countries sided with Israel; I guess Germany is still smarting from its role in the Holocaust.

A further infuriating fact is that the commission ignores the 4,000 rockets Hamas sent into Israel.

I see this latest provocation by the immoral UN as an important step on the road to the fulfillment of all the remaining Bible prophecies. When less than five percent of the nations of the world stand with you, Something Wicked This Way Comes.

We know from Scripture that Israel will one day find herself completely alone. The end of this road is approaching.
