How Rising Antisemitism May Be Driving Israel’s Final Regathering
An Ancient Hatred Is Growing
For millennia, antisemitism has been history’s most enduring and irrational hatred. This hatred dates all the way back to Genesis. Empires have risen and fallen, dictators have come and gone, yet the Jewish people have remained a unique target of global hostility. In recent times, that ancient hatred is once again accelerating before our eyes. Reports from around the Western world reveal a disturbing pattern. Violence, intimidation, and anti-Jewish rhetoric are becoming increasingly common, reminding us that the spiritual battle surrounding God’s chosen people has never ceased.
Britain: Antisemitic Assaults Surge 82%
Antisemitic incidents in the United Kingdom rose 21% in the first six months of 2026 compared to the same period last year, reaching the second-highest total on record for the first half of a year, according to a new report published Wednesday morning by the Community Security Trust.
The organization recorded 1,926 anti-Jewish hate incidents between January and June, up from 1,598 during the first half of 2025.
The total came out to an average of 321 monthly incidents, nearly double the figure from before the Hamas-led October 7, 2023, invasion of southern Israel.
The dramatic increase illustrates how openly anti-Jewish hostility has become in a nation that once offered refuge to many fleeing persecution.
New York City: Jews Targeted in the Majority of Hate Crimes
Jews, who make up about 10% of New Yorkers, were the targets of nearly 70% of all hate crimes in the Big Apple last month, according to newly released city data, and anti-Jewish hate crimes, which the city said it confirmed, were up 53.3% compared to the same period last year.
The New York City Police Department said that it recorded 33 “confirmed” hate crimes in the city last month, of which 23 targeted Jews (69.6%). In July 2025, there were 15 anti-Jewish hate crimes in the city, it said.
B’nai Brith Canada released its preliminary data for 2026, which suggests a year with an “alarming” rise in violent Jew-hatred and the second-highest volume of such incidents after 2023, during which the Oct. 7 attacks took place.
Since Jan. 1, the nonprofit has recorded 27 violent instances of Jew-hatred in the country—more than double the 10 such incidents in all of 2025.
Hatred Goes Global Through Social Media
CAM’s Antisemitism Research Center (ARC) analyzed 963 public X posts containing the word “Jew” during a 12-hour window on August 2–3. Of those, 692 — or 71.9% — were hostile toward Jews. Only 245 were neutral, and 26 were positive.
The presence of antisemitic posts on X is not surprising. What stands out is that hostility dominated the conversation around one of the most basic words in Jewish identity.
Some of the posts went far beyond antisemitic stereotypes, openly calling for violence and genocide.
One post called for a named individual’s death, writing that “he should be dead.” Others paired antisemitic slurs with threats or portrayed Jewish people as a “bioweapon” deployed against white people.
One account combined race theory with a warning of what would happen “when the whites have had enough.” Its handle contained 1488, a numerical code widely used by neo-Nazis.
A shocking new report says 2025 was the deadliest year for antisemitic attacks worldwide since 1994.
The J7 Large Communities’ Task Force Against Antisemitism released its second annual report, which tracks antisemitic hatred in the seven countries outside of Israel where over 90% of Jews live. According to the report, 20 people were killed in antisemitic attacks in 2025. All of the deadly attacks took place in J7 countries.
The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) is one of two organizations representing the Jewish diaspora in the U.S. in the J7, which includes similar organizations from Australia, Canada, Argentina, the U.S., the U.K., Germany and France.
God Promised to Bring Israel Home
Scripture repeatedly declares that God has an everlasting covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Let me repeat that again for those of you on the back row. GOD HAS AN EVERLASTING COVENANT WITH ABRAHAM, ISAAC, AND JACOB.
Let’s look back at a little bit of history. God’s people have suffered through exile, persecution, and even attempted extermination. But God! His people still remain!
Through His prophets, the Lord has declared this to be true.
Ezekiel 36:24
“For I will take you from among the nations, gather you out of all countries, and bring you into your own land.”
Isaiah 11:11-12
“It shall come to pass in that day
That the Lord shall set His hand again the second time
To recover the remnant of His people who are left,
From Assyria and Egypt,
From Pathros and Cush,
From Elam and Shinar,
From Hamath and the islands of the sea.
He will set up a banner for the nations,
And will assemble the outcasts of Israel,
And gather together the dispersed of Judah
From the four corners of the earth.”
Jeremiah 32:37
“Behold, I will gather them out of all countries where I have driven them in My anger, in My fury, and in great wrath; I will bring them back to this place, and I will cause them to dwell safely.”
Could Rising Antisemitism Be Driving the Return?
The rebirth of Israel in 1948 marked one of the most significant prophetic events of the modern era, but Scripture indicates that the regathering is still ongoing.
Could today’s explosion of antisemitism be one of the means God is using to continue bringing His people home?
Throughout Scripture, God repeatedly used the hostility of surrounding nations to accomplish His sovereign purposes. While evil is never justified, God has consistently demonstrated His ability to overrule the intentions of wicked men to fulfill His prophetic plan. “But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive” (Genesis 50:20).
How ironic is it that a nation that is embroiled in conflict and is surrounded by hate on all sides is actually the safest place for the Jewish people?
The prophets never paint a picture of the Jewish people returning to their homeland because the world finally accepts them. If anything, they describe the opposite. Zechariah foretells a time when the nations will unite against Jerusalem (Zechariah 12:2-3), and Jesus warned that Jerusalem would remain at the center of world conflict. Rather than returning during a season of peace and acceptance, Israel’s regathering unfolds against the backdrop of growing hostility.
Conclusion
What we’ve looked at here today is not a political or cultural issue—it’s actually a spiritual issue. The serpent of old, Satan, has always sought to subvert God’s plan. This includes plans for His people, His covenant promises, and the future reign of the Messiah.
Romans 11 reminds believers that “the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.” God has not abandoned Israel. He is preserving His covenant people and moving history toward the day when they will recognize Jesus Christ as their Messiah.
God is still gathering His people. He is still keeping His promises. And history is moving steadily toward the glorious return of the King of kings. As David reminds us in Psalm 122:6, “Pray for the peace of Jerusalem.”
