When It Stops, Pt III: Coming Food Collapse & Water… :: By Travis Karnes

Full Title: When It Stops, Part III: Coming Food Collapse & Water Breakdown

A sobering analysis of the fragile mechanics of our modern agricultural and municipal water supply lines, viewed through the lens of biblical prophecy and structural vulnerability.

Most of the Western world is currently trapped in a state of profound spiritual and physical blindness. We wander through pristine, brightly lit supermarkets, gazing at shelves overflowing with thousands of products, falsely assuming this illusion of abundance is a permanent fixture of modern life.

It is not.

The highly complex, “just-in-time” supply chains that keep our society fed and hydrated are magnificent feats of human engineering—but they are also entirely devoid of structural resilience. They possess zero margin for error. When the critical links in this fragile chain finally snap, the transition from comfortable civilization to absolute, desperate chaos will not take weeks or months.

It will happen in a matter of hours. And for those who have eyes to see, the Bible warned us of this exact vulnerability thousands of years ago.

The Third Seal: The Black Horse of Famine

To understand the rapidly accelerating collapse of our global agricultural system, we must look directly at the prophetic roadmap laid out in the Scriptures. We are rapidly drifting toward the shadow of the Tribulation period, where the structural underpinnings of global trade will be systematically dismantled.

“When He opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature say, ‘Come and see.’ So I looked, and behold, a black horse, and he who sat on it had a pair of scales in his hand. And I heard a voice in the midst of the four living creatures saying, ‘A quart of wheat for a denarius, and three quarts of barley for a denarius; and do not harm the oil and the wine'” (Revelation 6:5-6).

This is the prophetic description of hyperinflation and extreme scarcity. A denarius was a standard day’s wage for a working man in ancient Rome; a quart of wheat was just enough to keep one person alive for one day.

Under the ride of the Black Horse, an entire day’s hard labor will only yield enough basic grain to feed a single individual. There will be nothing left over for shelter, clothing, utilities, or families.

Today, we are seeing the structural foundation for this exact prophecy being laid:

The Synthetic Fertilizer Crisis: Modern agricultural yields are artificially inflated by petroleum-based synthetic fertilizers (nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium). The production of these inputs is highly centralized, energy-intensive, and increasingly choked by geopolitical conflict and green-energy mandates. Without these chemical inputs, global crop yields are projected to plummet by up to 50% in a single planting cycle.

The Diesel Lifeline: The entire food distribution network relies on the uninterrupted flow of heavy diesel transport. If a major economic shock, cyber-attack, or kinetic conflict disrupts the refining and distribution of diesel fuel, food shipments cease instantly.

Engineered Consolidation: Across the globe, independent family farms are being systematically squeezed out of existence by radical environmental regulations, fertilizer limits, and corporate buyouts of agricultural land. The remaining centralized food production hubs are highly vulnerable to targeted disruptions.

The Water Breakdown: Three Days to Absolute Chaos

If the food situation is precarious, the impending water crisis is outright catastrophic. While a human being can survive for several weeks without food, physical survival without clean water is measured in mere days.

Our centralized, municipal water systems are a massive, single point of failure that leaves millions of urban and suburban residents completely exposed to sudden deprivation.

“Moreover He said to me, ‘Son of man, surely I will cut off the supply of food in Jerusalem; they shall eat bread by weight and with anxiety, and shall drink water by measure and with dread…’” (Ezekiel 4:16).

We take for granted that turning a handle will always yield a stream of clean, pathogen-free water. However, the systems that deliver this luxury are highly artificial and incredibly fragile:

  1. Total Grid Dependency

Almost every municipal water system in the Western world relies on heavy-duty electric pumps to extract, treat, and pressurize water. If the electrical grid suffers a prolonged black-sky event—whether through cyber warfare, physical sabotage of high-voltage transformers, or a space weather event—water pressure in the pipes will bleed off to zero within hours. High-rise buildings and suburban neighborhoods alike will be instantly cut off from their primary lifelines.

  1. Chemical Supply Chain Vulnerabilities

Raw water from reservoirs and rivers cannot simply be pumped into your home; it must undergo complex chemical purification using chlorine, aluminum sulfate, and other treatment agents. These chemicals are highly hazardous, difficult to store in large quantities, and must be constantly replenished via rail and road transport. If the logistics network fractures, water plants will shut down rather than pump raw, pathogen-filled water into the public supply.

  1. The Depletion of Our Aquifers

We are rapidly draining our planet’s fossil water reserves. Major subterranean resources, like the Ogallala Aquifer in America’s agricultural heartland, are being pumped dry at rates far exceeding their natural recharge capacity. We are trading our long-term survival for short-term abundance.

Geopolitical Sabotage and the Rise of the Beast System

The globalist elite and deep-state planners are fully aware of these profound systemic vulnerabilities. In fact, these points of failure are not bugs in the system—they are features.

The consolidation of food and water under centralized corporate and governmental control is the ultimate mechanism of absolute human subjugation.

“He causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name” (Revelation 13:16-17).

Before a global dictator can mandate a mark to regulate all buying and selling, the independent means of human survival must first be dismantled.

If you can grow your own food and access your own clean water, you cannot be easily forced to bow to a totalitarian system. By engineering a series of crises—sabotaged supply chains, chemical shortages, energy rationing, and hyperinflation—the global elite are creating the perfect storm.

When the engineered collapse occurs, the state will step forward with the “solution”: centralized distribution of food and water, fully integrated with Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs) and digital biometric IDs. To eat and drink, you will be forced to comply.

The Spiritual and Practical Duty of the Remnant

As believers looking forward to the Blessed Hope—the imminent Rapture of the Church—we do not look at these coming judgments with a spirit of terror or defeat.

We know that our ultimate citizenship is in heaven, and our Savior will rescue His Bride before the full, unmitigated wrath of the Tribulation is poured out upon a Christ-rejecting world.

“Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near” (Luke 21:28).

However, being “Rapture Ready” does not mean living in lazy apathy or reckless negligence. We are called to be wise stewards of the resources, warnings, and time God has granted us.

Just as Joseph was divinely warned to store grain during the years of plenty to preserve life during the years of famine, we have a moral and spiritual obligation to protect our families and be a resource of light and aid to our neighbors while there is still time.

Practical Steps for Godly Stewardship:

>Establish Water Independence: Do not rely solely on municipal water taps. Secure high-quality, gravity-fed water purification systems (such as Berkey, Proone, or equivalent gravity-filters) that can purify raw rain, creek, or pond water without electricity. If you live on acreage, install a mechanical backup hand pump on your well.

>Store Tangible Food Reserves: Build a deep pantry of basic, long-shelf-life storable foods: white rice, pinto beans, hard red winter wheat, rolled oats, and salt. Seal these in heavy Mylar bags with oxygen absorbers inside food-grade buckets.

>Acquire Heirloom Seeds: Avoid hybrid seeds that cannot reproduce viable seeds for the next harvest. Store open-pollinated, non-GMO heirloom seeds so you have the physical capability to plant a sustainable garden.

>Build a Spiritual Fortress: True readiness is not measured in freeze-dried food or water filters; it is measured in your relationship with Jesus Christ. Ensure your spiritual lamp is full of oil. Use the current window of relative stability to share the Gospel of salvation with family, friends, and neighbors who are currently walking in darkness.

The storm is gathering on the horizon, and the structural foundations of our modern, fragile world are beginning to buckle. The systems of man will stop—and they will stop suddenly. Fix your eyes on Christ, prepare your household with sober wisdom, and occupy until He comes.
