On Aug. 17, 2026, it was reported that Syria was on the verge of allowing Turkey to deploy troops at a Syrian military airbase at Aleppo.

Israel had warned Syria that Israel would not tolerate threats to its security, but Syria ignored it.

Israel attacked the base.

On Aug. 19, 2026, Israeli Prime Min. Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed that the Israeli Air Force struck a Syrian airbase in northwestern Syria.

According to Netanyahu, “Israel repeatedly warned Syria that such a deployment would pose a threat to Israel’s security.”

He said that Israel “would welcome a return to the status quo.”

On Aug. 20, 2026, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz warned Turkish Pres. Recep Tayyip Erdogan not to test Israel’s determination to defend itself, accusing the Turkish leader of dragging his country into “dangerous adventures” in Syria.

In a message posted on Twitter, Katz said that Erdogan would be better off continuing to deliver empty, fantastical speeches against Israel in the Turkish parliament rather than testing Israel’s determination to defend itself.

Many years ago, I read that Israel is well aware of what Ezekiel 38-39 and Isaiah 17 say.

Israel has long expected to have to defend itself against Iran, Turkey, Russia, and several of their Islamic allies on the mountains of Israel.

I even read that they designed a tank specifically to fight a war on the mountains of Israel.

Israel is right to warn Syria that Israel will not tolerate Israel’s enemies moving forces into Syria that will threaten Israel.

Turkey has called for the destruction of Israel.

They say it is the duty of humanity to do it.

Here are some recent events that seem to indicate that the end of the age is close:

One, on Aug. 20, 2026, Harbinger’s Daily posted an article by Amir Tsarfati (Messianic Jew, Bible prophecy teacher, author, etc.) that says in part:

  • It doesn’t matter who controls Syria—whether it’s the Assad regime or now Ahmed al-Sharaa—we know Biblically that there has to be a future cataclysmic event that will cause Damascus to cease from being a city (Isaiah 17:1).
  • The situation in the nation remains turbulent.
  • It’s not as though Syrian leadership became saints once Assad fell.
  • A few days ago, Syrian Arab Army chants were heard from the Grand Mosque in Damascus, shouting, “A storm has risen! Rain down destruction in the heat of battle! Coming for you, Jew, I am coming at you like a mountain of fire! Making ammunition for you out of my own body! Making rivers out of your blood! Allahu Akbar!”
  • Notice, they don’t say “Zionist” or “Israelis”—they aimed their threat directly at Jews.
  • It’s plain and simple.
  • That’s the new Syrian military—not the old one—comprised of ISIS and Al Qaeda militants.
  • They are still consumed with hatred for Jewish people and are wishfully thinking of flowing “rivers” of Jewish blood.
  • That’s why Israel, post-October 7th, will not tolerate its borders being filled anymore with this type of murderous antisemitic ideology.
  • That’s why Israel must maintain a security zone on the border with Syria.
  • That’s why Israel must not let the monster grow.
  • Over the last few weeks, Israel noticed that there was suspicious activity at the Abu al-Duhur airbase, which was abandoned in 2013, not far from the border with Turkey near Idlib.
  • There is an interesting line running between three locations: (1) The Abu Ad-Duhur airbase; (2) Site 99 — where Syria was holding nuclear material, enriched uranium; and (3) The Al-Kibar facility — a site previously destroyed by Israel where Syria had built a nuclear reactor.
  • Over the last few days, we learned that Turkey has begun meddling in the vicinity of these locations, including a Turkish delegation that visited the Abu Ad-Duhur airbase, preparing to deploy Turkish forces, F-16s, drones, and missiles on Syrian soil.
  • The aim of the Turks is to encroach toward the border with Israel, starting from the north and pushing further and further toward the center of Syria. Without intervention, before you know it, they will be on the border next to the Golan Heights.
  • With a shared border with Israel, Turkey hopes to eventually fulfill its dreams of walking into Jerusalem to “liberate” it—a goal they discuss openly.
  • Alongside Turkish activity in the region, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) released the information uncovering more undeclared nuclear material in Syria—tons of it.
  • Israel quickly realized that something fishy was afoot and took preemptive measures.
  • This is huge.
  • Israel essentially drew a line against Turkish President Erdogan.
  • We can clearly see direct linkage between what is going on in Syria and the alliance that is forming against Israel.
  • In addition, the destruction of Damascus might be the greatest catalyst for the Ezekiel war.
  • When we consider Turkey’s personal investment in Syria, as well as that of Iran and Russia, it is reasonable to examine whether this might also ignite the flame for the coalition detailed in Ezekiel 38 to make its move.

(BTW: God said He will put hooks in the jaws of Russia’s dictator and drag Russia, Iran, Turkey, and several more of their Islamic allies onto the mountains of Israel and destroy them there, Ezek. 38:4).

Two, concerning an increase in the frequency and intensity of natural disasters at the end of the age: on Aug. 19, 2026, the downtown Kansas City airport was struck by thunderstorms and three inches of hail.

Airport officials asked, “Who would have thought our snow crews would have to do snow removal in August?”

The airport was temporarily closed.

Three, concerning the Antichrist coming from the EU: on Aug. 21, 2026, a reader sent me this comment by Amir Tsarfati:

  • People ask me why I believe the future evil leader of the world will rise from Europe.
  • It’s simple – that part of the world once produced the empire that destroyed Jerusalem and its Temple in AD 70.
  • Today, Europe is becoming so spiritually dark that the enemy will once again use that region as a center of deception and calamity.
  • Look at this statement: The UK, France, Germany, Italy, and the Netherlands are drowning in the consequences of uncontrolled Islamic immigration and progressive foolishness, yet somehow they find the time and urgency to tell the Jews where they can and cannot build homes in their ancestral homeland.
  • Europe once stood against the Jewish people in their dispersion. Now it increasingly stands against them in their restoration.
  • The stage is being set.

Four, concerning a global economic collapse early in the Tribulation Period: on Aug. 23, 2026,

  • The government of Iran said it believes hostilities in the Persian Gulf region are likely to resume in the coming days.
  • Iran is waiting for U.S. Treasury Sec. Scott Bessent to announce the new U.S. “Economic Warfare” against Iran (Pres. Trump called it an “Economic D-Day”).
  • Bessent is scheduled to announce these new efforts on August 24, 2026.
  • Once the new methods are announced, Iran has made clear that any country that joins in the U.S. effort will be considered to be engaging in an Act of War upon Iran – and will be brutally attacked militarily.
  • Then, specifically mentioning Persian Gulf countries, Iran said not one drop of oil will flow from the Persian Gulf, triggering a global energy crisis and economic disaster.

  • S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said he will unveil a plan to economically isolate Iran and its trading partners at a press conference on the 24th. He is pressuring allies to decide whether to “stand with the United States or against it,” emphasizing that this would be the largest coordinated economic isolation campaign in history.
  • The U.S. now says Hezbollah in Lebanon is essentially an arm of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

Fri. Day 174 (Aug. 21, 2026) (Day 122 of Trump’s latest ceasefire extension) (82 days from the day Pres. Trump said he will declare total victory over Iran)

  • China officially announced that it rejects American-ordered Sanctions against Iran! China rejects Sanctions that have no basis in International Law! China will continue to buy Iranian oil and trade with its BRICS partner!!
  • New trade corridors with Pakistan are opening alternative trade access with Central Asia and helping the Islamic Republic bypass the US naval blockade.

  • Trump said the Strait of Hormuz has been cleared of mines, and he warned that any vessel laying new ones will be destroyed.
  • The United States offered Iran sanctionsrelief and an end to the naval blockade imposed on it in exchange for reopening the Strait of Hormuz and halting attacks carried out by its proxies in the region.

Wed. Day 179 (Aug. 26, 2026) (Day 127 of Trump’s latest ceasefire extension) (87 days from the day Pres. Trump said he will declare total victory over Iran) (The war is now 1,054 days old)

  • Nickolay Mladenov, the Board of Peace High Representative for Gaza, told the United Nations Security Council that Hamas is rebuilding tunnels and has yet to fulfill its commitment to end all military activity, warning that the fragile ceasefire remains at risk.

Finally, are you Rapture Ready?

If you want to be rapture ready and go to heaven, you must be born again (John 3:3). God loves you, and if you have not done so, sincerely admit that you are a sinner; believe that Jesus is the virgin-born, sinless Son of God, who died for the sins of the world, was buried, and raised from the dead; ask Him to forgive your sins, cleanse you, come into your heart and be your Saviour; then tell someone that you have done this.

 

 

Thou Shalt and Thou Shalt Not :: By Nathele Graham

“Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve” (Matthew 4:10). 

Too often we think of Christianity as a list of rules. It isn’t; that would be works, and we’re saved by grace through faith in the finished work of Jesus on the cross.

“Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God? Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent” (John 6:28-29). 

His shed blood takes away all sin, but we have to admit we are sinners, repent, and ask Jesus to forgive us. When we do that, we are sealed with the Holy Spirit and our salvation is secure.

Most people know that there’s something called the Ten Commandments but seldom can name any of them. If you can follow them, your life will be better, but they won’t bring salvation. They are moral guidance and a good road map to navigate life. Following them to the letter will never bring salvation because that’s an impossibility. You may not kill, but you really hate your neighbor whose dog digs in your flowers.

When judging your own life, you’ll probably be very forgiving of your sins, such as justifying why you told a “little white lie” or why you had every right to be angry. God loves you, but He’s an unbiased and very perfect judge. You want to be judged through the righteousness of the blood of Jesus, not on your own merit.

The first “thou shalt not” in Scripture occurs in Genesis. In no uncertain terms, God told Adam not to eat from the tree of knowledge. “But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die” (Genesis 2:17).

There isn’t any room for twisting what God said, but Satan found a way and Eve believed him. When God says not to do something, it’s for our own good. Adam found out the hard way that God gave that rule because He loved His created humans. Unfortunately, Adam listened to Eve, who had listened to the serpent and questioned God’s truth. Adam and Eve did die after eating that forbidden fruit. They didn’t drop dead immediately but were separated from God with no way to get back into fellowship with Him.

Adam’s sin has been passed on to his children through the ages, and we all have a sin nature and a death sentence upon us. God had a plan for us to get back into fellowship; that plan was through the sacrificial death of Jesus (God’s only begotten Son). Only faith in Jesus will allow sinners to live eternally with Him.

One would think that Adam’s children would have listened to their father when he spoke of the beautiful Garden that he and Eve had once inhabited, and the “thou shalt not” that he and Eve ignored. Maybe Adam didn’t make the warnings clear, or maybe children haven’t changed much over the years and rejected Adam’s warnings. Whatever the reason, the trouble for mankind just kept getting worse. Cain killed his brother, Abel, and sin was getting stronger.

As the population grew, Satan tried again to destroy humanity; the fallen angels mated with human women and genetically corrupted all of creation. It became necessary for God to destroy everything except for eight genetically pure people and some animals in order to stop Satan’s plan for destruction.

After the flood, sin continued to thrive. The population grew again, and nations were established, including Egypt, a nation steeped in the worship of mythological gods and goddesses. God chose Abraham out of another pagan, idol-worshipping country to establish the bloodline that would lead to the Messiah. Eventually, Abraham’s grandson Jacob had twelve sons, who became the patriarchs of the Twelve Tribes of Israel.

When famine threatened the lives of God’s chosen people, Jacob sent his sons to Egypt to seek food from the government there. Unknown to Jacob, his son Joseph, whom Jacob thought had been killed by a wild animal, was the man in charge. As it turned out, Joseph was able to bring his father, his brothers, and all of the household to Egypt, where they thrived for many years.

During that time, a new Pharaoh came to power and enslaved the Israelites. When the time was right, God called Moses to lead the Israelites out of captivity and into the land promised to Abraham. Because God’s chosen people had been captive in Egypt for so many years, they had been influenced by the false gods of Egyptian mythology, and God had to lay down some rules. That’s when He gave them the Ten Commandments, the moral law which we still need to honor today.

First, they had to understand that there is no other God, and they weren’t to worship false gods. “Thou shalt have no other gods before me” (Exodus 20:3).

We need to pay attention to that today. The world is trying to dictate gods to us, but there is only one God. Allah is a demon god, Buddha is not a god, whoever the Mormons worship is not God Almighty as seen in Scripture, and neither are beings from outer space. Christians cannot compromise. There are many other “gods” that influence life today – materialism, the “me” generation, evolution, sex, money, and on and on. Put no other god ahead of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit…the Triune God.

Read through the rest of the chapter and see for yourself how many of the thou shalt nots you break daily. “Thou shalt not commit adultery” (Exodus 20:14). Remember that Jesus said even looking with lust is a sin. How many movies do you watch that are designed to make you lust? We need to pay attention to the thou shalt nots, and honor God.

The Jewish Law goes on and on about what thou shalt not do, and I want to bring a couple of these thou shalt nots to your attention. “And thou shalt not let any of thy seed pass through the fire to Molech, neither shalt thou profane the name of thy God: I am the LORD. Thou shalt not lie with mankind as with womankind: it is abomination” (Leviticus 18:21-22).

These are two sins that are in news headlines today: Abortion and homosexuality. Child sacrifice is an abomination to God, as is all sexual sin. If you call yourself a Christian and accept these sins, remember, God says “Thou shalt not.” God holds men to a high degree of responsibility. It was Adam who was given the command not to eat the forbidden fruit, but he stood by and watched Eve defy God. Today, women are screaming “My body, my choice.” Make the choice prior to creating an individual little person. That little person doesn’t deserve to die.

Men, be responsible even if women aren’t. The “seed” comes from the man when creating a baby, and God said not to let any of thy seed be killed. God spoke of placing children into the fiery arms of the demon god Molech, but murdering a child in the womb is still killing your seed. Thou shalt not be irresponsible, and thou shalt make sure women understand they aren’t to kill their babies. “Thou shalt not kill” (Exodus 20:13).

Even though people have a sin nature, God loves us. When Adam sinned, humanity was separated from God. Sin is what makes us unclean. If we can get rid of sin, we’ll be able to spend eternity with God. But how do we do that? Following every point of Jewish Law would be a start. It’s humanly impossible to be perfect. Oh, we might be wonderful in the eyes of the world, but by God’s standards, we are sinners.

“For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23).

When we embrace the “thou shalt nots” instead of honoring God by following the “thou shalts” in Scripture, that’s how we join the world in sin; we come way short of God’s glory. God didn’t leave us there to die eternally, but He had a perfect plan. He entered His creation and imparted His plan of salvation to anyone who believes.

“Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus” (Romans 3:24-26).

Without Jesus, there’s no hope of salvation. You must put your faith in Him, repent, and ask Him to forgive you. The blood of Jesus was shed as the final sacrifice for all sin. Don’t think that your sin is so bad that it’s unforgivable. Read the history of the Apostle Paul. He was a very wicked man, but when he met Jesus, he was changed. His sin was great, but God’s love is greater. Go to Jesus now and ask Him to forgive you. Turn from your wicked ways.

When asked what the greatest commandment was, Jesus had an answer: “And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment” (Mark 12:30).

Loving God means obeying Him. When you fail, He will forgive your sin if you ask in Jesus’ name.

Follow the “Thou shalts” in Scripture, and turn away from the “Thou shalt nots.” Love the Lord and draw near to Him.
