Conflicted? – Repent and Be at Peace :: By Jim Towers

Things are getting worse and worse all around the world. But just when we think things couldn’t get worse, a Russian submarine was spotted off the coast of Florida, about thirty miles from Miami, yesterday. Lest we forget, Russia is allied with Cuba, and now with Trump threatening Russia with supplying missiles to Ukraine, we must expect Russia to inevitably declare war on NATO and us.

Just so you know, China is allied with Russia, too, and that makes for a real-life threatening scenario for us here in the United States. Trump is sending thousands of Marines to Colombia and Venezuela to staunch the flow of drugs in our country, provoking confrontation with the governments there. If ever there was a time, it is now to repent and seek God’s forgiveness for our many faults (which include throwing God under the bus) and/or ignoring Him altogether. To criminals, pedophiles, liars, perverts, rapists and atheists, and agnostics especially, I would say wake up and smell the coffee – life as we’ve known it here in America is coming to a screeching halt.

As if all this craziness wasn’t enough to make the hair on the back of your neck stand up, then you should also know that there are many subversives in our country who are undermining our Judeo-Christian laws as well. Dearborn, Michigan, has the largest ratio of Muslim and Arab residents in the nation and has been dubbed “America’s Jihad Capital” all thanks to local community leaders, elected officials, and religious leaders who have promoted Hamas, Hezbollah, and other Muslim entities.

Speaking of Muslims, intent to overthrow our way of life, the Roman Catholic Pope has arranged to have a prayer room in the Vatican to accommodate them, as well as prayer rugs. Minarets will soon follow, like the ones in Minnesota, where Somalis have taken over. The Texas governor is fighting plans to install Sharia law in San Antonio, Texas. A Muslim, Zohran Mamdani, is running for Mayor in New York. If these Muslim efforts come together – then (like Barack Obama who once said, “America is NOT a Christian country”) we WILL no longer be a Christian Nation.

On that note, Islamists are killing Christians in Nigeria by the thousands, and we may have to finally intervene after years of neglect, with too many problems to handle here at home, in the Middle East, and Russia.

On top of all of that, we’ve let drugs and criminals take over our culture and sweep across the land, and just stood by watching as it happens. Today, we need a hardliner like President Trump to keep these subversives at bay. And although I don’t agree with everything he says and does, this is the man for the job, and he might just give us Americans the window of opportunity to repent and to bring our fellow man into the Christian fold before it’s too late.

Earlier this year, U.S. President Trump declared, “As we prepare to celebrate two and a half centuries of freedom, I am inviting America’s great religious communities to pray for our nation and for our people. From the beginning, this has always been a country sustained and strengthened by prayer. So important, if we bring religion back stronger, you’re going to see everything get better.” ( He should have ended that sentence with – “in the short term.”) Don’t hold your breath.

Many of today’s Christians seem to be Christians in name only – or “culture Christians” at best, since they continue to ignore the obvious end-times signs before us all – not knowing the Scriptures. We, my friends, are living in perilous times, which just might spell the end of us all.

Serious and born-again Christians must get to work – “for the Harvest is nigh and the workers are few.” We can’t just sit on our hands and wait for Christ to whisk us away in the rapture to save us from what’s to come. We will all be held accountable for what we did or didn’t do during our sojourn here on Earth. Now is not the time to cower in fear but to trust God to empower us to bring others into the fold – out of concern for their eternal souls and not for brownie points.

The good news is that a revival (of sorts) is beginning to happen across our country. In my usual staid and somber Protestant church consisting of cold elitist types, two young pastors have arisen whom I believe will help turn things around. Lately, Steve and Carson have broken through the same old-same old mold of packaged goods and have even gotten the near-dead congregation to applaud their sermons.

I can only believe that the Holy Spirit has “fallen” on these two young men as prophecy is being fulfilled that says, “In the last days, I will pour out my spirit on all flesh….” And since these young pastors are on the right track to begin with, it only seems right that they will be used greatly to bring many others into the kingdom of God. Not that the other pastors in our congregation were lacking, but there is a marked degree of energy and power in the two young men’s words and admonitions. And while I respect the other pastor’s preparation and delivery, now their sermons for the old, weak, and enfeebled seem somewhat shallow in comparison.

Book report:

Notorious, a book by Maureen Dowd, is pretentious in many ways, but I slogged through it, trying to charge my battery by laying off the religious and political stuff for a bit. And since I was in the entertainment business for most of my life, I could identify with many of the characters in it.

But just when I was getting bored with all the pretentiousness and bluster, up comes an interview with Elon Musk. Now I was wide awake and reading what he had to say about the “End Times” AI revolution. I already knew that AI was being programmed to listen to a Christian’s confession of wrongdoing and absolving them of their sins, “Say three Hail Marys and four Our Fathers and you’re good to go. Dominos Visco… Aaaaamen.” But it gets better – when AI teams up with Peter Thiel and promises us to live as Bots, having incorporated our being with Robotic AI’s programming. How foolish is that? At least Elon only wants to inhabit Mars and appears to be a spiritual person on a quest to find God, whom he acknowledges to exist.

Try as I might to find tranquility, deep down I find myself concerned for my fellow man who gropes in the darkness – when all he must do is repent, receive Christ’s atonement for his sins, and study his Bible to learn to please God.

‘Not Playing Games’: Trump Responds To Putin Testing ‘Invincible’ Nuclear Cruise Missile
Vladimir Putin on Sunday touted a successful test of his military’s new “invincible” nuclear-capable cruise missile, which means a next step of actually deploying the doomsday weapon as part of Russia’s strategic arsenal. Trump described that Putin should focus on ending the war with Ukraine rather than testing missiles. He was pressed on the issue by reporters on Air Force One regarding the nuclear test. “They know we have a nuclear submarine, the greatest in the world, right off their shores,” Trump posited in response. “We don’t need to go 8,000 miles. “They are not playing games with us. We are not playing games with them either.

Amazon Plans To Axe 30,000 Corporate Jobs, Cuts Begin Tuesday
Late in the U.S. cash session, Reuters dropped a startling headline: Amazon is preparing to take a Javier Milei-style axe to its corporate workforce, planning to slash upwards of 30,000 jobs as soon as tomorrow. Reuters, citing three people familiar with the matter, said the 30,000 corporate job cuts set to begin tomorrow will amount to approximately 10% of Amazon’s corporate workforce of about 350,000 employees. However, the cuts represent a relatively small share of the company’s total workforce, which includes about 1.55 million warehouse and delivery workers.

After a meeting with his staff Zelensky indicated, “We reviewed the effectiveness of our long-range strikes over a defined period and the results achieved. Russian oil refining is already paying a tangible price for the war—and will pay even more.

Wrecking Ball Politics: Swalwell Calls for Destructive Pledge from Democratic Presidential Candidates
Previously, Swalwell mocked a female senator after she complained about being threatened by leftists. However, even on the Swalwell scale, it is hard to measure the depths of a member who calls for potential presidents to pledge to demolish the Trump ballroom as a litmus test for office. Consider that for a second. According to Swalwell, Democrats will only consider politicians who promise to destroy a $300 million building to appease the lowest common denominator of their party.

Why Israel should be concerned with Turkey’s role in Gaza
Israeli analyst warns: ‘A grave strategic mistake’ for Israel to allow Turkish intervention in Gaza.  An effigy of Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu swung from a towering crane in Trabzon, a city in northern Turkey, with the inscription: “Death Penalty for Netanyahu” last week – a chilling illustration of why many Israelis oppose any Turkish role in the rebuilding of Gaza.

Trump administration posts notice that no federal food aid will go out Nov. 1
The U.S. Department of Agriculture has posted a notice on its website saying federal food aid will not go out Nov. 1, raising the stakes for families nationwide as the government shutdown drags on. The new notice comes after the Trump administration said it would not tap roughly $5 billion in contingency funds to keep benefits through the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, commonly referred to as SNAP, flowing into November. That program helps about 1 in 8 Americans buy groceries. “Bottom line, the well has run dry,” the USDA notice says.

The Media Line: Israeli Airstrikes Kill Senior Hezbollah Members in Lebanon Amid Ongoing Border Tensions
Israel’s Air Force carried out a series of strikes deep inside Lebanon over the weekend, killing several senior Hezbollah operatives involved in arms trafficking and field operations, according to the Israel Defense Forces. Among those killed was Ali Hussein al-Musawi, identified by the military as a key Hezbollah weapons dealer and smuggler who helped move arms from Syria to Lebanon. The IDF said al-Musawi played a central role in the terror group’s weapons procurement and rebuilding efforts following earlier Israeli operations. He was targeted in the Beqaa Valley, an area long associated with Hezbollah’s logistical network.

U.S. envoy Morgan Ortagus is expected in Beirut on Monday for talks with Lebanese officials on disarming militant group Hezbollah, sources familiar with her visit said, amid fears in Lebanon that Israel could launch a renewed air war on the group. Those worries have been driven by days of intensifying Israeli strikes on Lebanon’s south and east that have killed more than a dozen people, most of them Hezbollah members, according to Lebanese security sources.

In Lebanon, sexual abuse and economic abuse go hand in hand
Sexual exploitation of children in agriculture goes hand in hand with economic, social, and legal exploitation. “Farm laborer” isn’t even a legally recognized job — no contracts, health insurance, or days off. That’s if you’re talking about legal crops and if the laborer is Lebanese. What if the work is illegal, hidden in rural areas, controlled by tribal customs…and powerful figures from major clans? Ftoun recounts her painful story: “The first time I went to the field, I was 7. Within the first week, one of the older boys…tried to touch me in private places….My mother told me to keep quiet: “That’s the foreman’s son. We need to eat. If his father hears you, he’ll kick us out.’”

Scientists in Australia and New Zealand are attempting to use genetic engineering and viruses to make rodents infertile, for “pest control”
Scientists are researching new techniques of pest control. One technique is to use gene drives, which involves genetically modifying rodents to make them infertile. Another technique being researched involves the use of viruses as an immunocontraceptive, which uses the body’s immune system to induce temporary infertility by targeting specific components of the reproductive process…we should ask ourselves: “How long before humans are seen as pests that they believe need to be controlled?
