Democratic Party Fundraising Off a Drug Kingpin’s Capture :: By Bill Wilson

The news should have landed with near-universal relief. A foreign drug kingpin, whose cartel activity has fueled death, addiction, and instability that spills directly into American communities, was captured in a swift, precise operation ordered by the President of the United States.

The arrest of Nicolás Maduro, long accused of turning a sovereign nation into a narco-state, represents one of the most efficient law-enforcement actions against a cartel-linked regime in modern history.

Regardless of party, most Americans instinctively understand that this means fewer drugs crossing borders. Fewer criminal networks. Fewer lives destroyed by fentanyl and cocaine that originate far from bad actors and end up in our streets.

What followed, however, should trouble anyone paying attention. Instead of bipartisan recognition that removing a cartel leader is a net good for public safety, the Democratic Party responded with outrage and protest.

Even more disturbing, party committees and aligned groups used their opposition to the capture as a fundraising tool. Emails and appeals were sent asking supporters to donate in protest of the operation.

That choice turns a national security victory into a political grievance and treats the dismantling of a criminal enterprise as a campaign opportunity. For families who have buried loved ones lost to drugs tied to international cartels, this response feels a terrible slap in the face.

This moment reveals something deeper about the modern Democratic Party. Opposition to Donald Trump has become so central that even actions which weaken violent criminal networks are framed as unacceptable if they produce a political win for the wrong man.

Oversight questions and constitutional concerns can be raised without reflexively condemning the outcome. Yet that balance was largely absent. Instead, partisan posture replaced moral clarity. When the capture of a drug kingpin is not celebrated but monetized as a grievance, it suggests a party more committed to resistance than to results, and more invested in narrative control than in public safety.

Scripture offers a steady lens for moments like this. Government exists, in part, to restrain evil and protect the innocent. When evil is confronted and justice advanced, the response should be sober approval, not opportunistic outrage.

Americans should ask hard questions about what it means when one of our two major political parties reacts to the removal of a violent criminal figure by rallying donors against it.

Politics will always be with us. But justice, the kind that defends communities from destruction and holds the wicked to account, should never be treated as a fundraising tactic.

Proverbs 21:15 says, “When justice is done, it is a joy to the righteous, but terror to evildoers.”

So many layers of this play out with Maduro and the Democrats trying to raise money like his capture is the poster child for some sort of injustice.

Gnosticism: The Ancient Lie Revived :: By Joe Hawkins

Few ancient belief systems have resurfaced with as much persistence—and deception—as Gnosticism. Though its roots stretch back to the early centuries of the Church, its core doctrine is far older, originating in the very first lie whispered in Eden: “You will be like God” (Genesis 3:5). Today, the same ancient heresy is resurfacing under new labels—progressive Christianity, New Age mysticism, spiritual self-discovery—yet the essence remains unchanged. Gnosticism stands as a direct assault on biblical truth, the identity of Jesus Christ, and the hope of the Gospel.

At its core, Gnosticism teaches that salvation comes through a secret, esoteric knowledge (gnosis). Instead of sin being the problem and Christ the Savior, Gnosticism reframes the human condition as ignorance needing enlightenment. This worldview treats biblical revelation as incomplete, flawed, or insufficient. Knowledge becomes salvation. Self becomes the redeemer. And the God of Scripture becomes a lesser deity. Sometimes even portrayed as evil or unenlightened.

Early Christians understood the danger immediately. Nearly every New Testament epistle counters some form of proto-gnostic teaching. John confronts those who denied the physical incarnation of Christ (1 John 4:2–3). Paul warns Timothy about “false knowledge” (1 Timothy 6:20). Jude exposes the dreamers who “reject authority” and corrupt the faith (Jude 4, 8). The apostles recognized that Gnosticism undermined everything foundational to Christianity: creation, incarnation, redemption, and resurrection.

Yet the modern world has once again embraced this ancient lie, not through dusty manuscripts but through media, academia, and spirituality movements that promise inner light and hidden wisdom. The New Age emphasizes divine spark and cosmic consciousness. Progressive Christianity elevates personal revelation over Scripture. Self-help spirituality teaches that the ultimate truth lies within. All of these echo Gnosticism’s central lie—that man can ascend to God through secret insight rather than be saved by God through Christ.

This revival has profound prophetic significance. Scripture warns that the last days will be marked by deception, false teachers, and a form of godliness that denies its power (2 Timothy 3:1–5). Gnosticism fits this pattern perfectly: it wears the clothing of spirituality while denying the cross, the blood, and the authority of God’s Word. It offers the promise of enlightenment, yet leads only to darkness.

Worse still, Gnosticism attacks the identity of Jesus Christ. Ancient forms denied His true humanity; modern forms deny His exclusivity. Instead of “I am the way” (John 14:6), Gnosticism whispers, “There are many paths.” Instead of “The Word became flesh” (John 1:14), it claims Jesus was simply an enlightened teacher who discovered the divine within. This is the spirit of antichrist (1 John 2:22–23), not the Spirit of truth.

For the Watcher and Warrior, recognizing Gnosticism matters because it shapes the spiritual landscape of the end times. It prepares the world to embrace a counterfeit Christ. A leader who offers enlightenment without repentance, unity without truth, and divinity without the cross.

The ancient serpent’s lie has simply been repackaged for a modern world. But the answer remains unchanged: the Word of God, the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and the discernment of the Holy Spirit.

Stay Awake! Keep Watch! The deception is deep, but the truth is deeper still.
