Wars And Rumors of Wars :: By Daymond Duck

A reader from California recently sent me an e-mail that said:

  • I was thinking about wars and rumors of wars…people will say there have always been wars…but I think Jesus was talking specifically about the nation of Israel, that it would be surrounded by wars…just as we are witnessing.

Here is what Jesus said and my understanding of what Jesus meant:

Jesus left the Temple for the last time. He would never go back there or teach there again. He went out to the Mt. of Olives and sat down.

The disciples went to Him privately and asked Him three questions: 1) When shall these things be? (the destruction of the Temple), 2) What shall be the sign of thy coming? (His Second Coming), and 3) of the end of the age?

Jesus didn’t answer the first question, but history shows that the Romans destroyed the Temple in 70 A.D.

He answered the second question in Matt. 24:14: “And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.” (In the Revelation of Jesus Christ – the Book of Revelation – we learn that the gospel will go all over the world during the Tribulation Period by the 144,000, Two Witnesses, and an angel; Rev. 7:11, 14:6.)

Understand that during the Tribulation Period (a day of sorrows; Zeph. 1:16-17: like birth pains; Gen. 3:16), the Book of Revelation teaches that:

  • Peace will be removed from the earth (Second Seal; Red Horse; Rev. 6:3-4).
  • A great war called the Battle of Armageddon will take place (Rev. 19).
  • A global economic collapse will cause the price of food to soar and lead to famine (Third Seal; Black Horse; Rev. 6:5-6).
  • Death and Hades will use War, famine, pestilence, and wild animals to kill one-fourth of those on Earth (Fourth Seal; Pale Horse; Rev. 6:7-8).
  • During the Tribulation Period, there will be many earthquakes (Sixth Seal-great earthquake; Rev. 6:12; also, Rev. 8:5; Rev. 11:13; the greatest earthquake ever; Rev. 16:18).

But in Matt. 24:6, Jesus said He was talking about wars and rumors of wars, famine, pestilence, etc. that would happen before the time of the end (before the Tribulation Period and His Second Coming).

This is the way I see it: Jesus was lovingly warning us about people deceiving us.

  • Deceivers said WW I was the Battle of Armageddon (and we are in the Tribulation Period), but it wasn’t true because Israel didn’t exist.
  • Deceivers said WW II was the Battle of Armageddon (and we are in the Tribulation Period), but it wasn’t true because Israel still did not exist.
  • Deceivers said cancer, Covid, Ebola, etc. were signs that we were in the Tribulation Period, but they couldn’t be because they did not kill one-fourth of those on Earth.
  • Deceivers said great earthquakes mean that we are in the Tribulation Period, but the greatest earthquake ever will be after the rise of the Antichrist (after the First Seal; Rev. 6:12; after the Rapture).

Jesus lovingly (an act of grace) warned that there would be wars, famine, pestilence, earthquakes, etc. during the Church Age, before the Tribulation Period, but they wouldn’t be as bad as those that happen during the Tribulation Period.

We should watch for the convergence of ALL of the signs, not just some of the signs, and it seems to be what we are seeing today.

(FYI: The Tribulation Period won’t begin until the Antichrist rises to power over a world government and confirms – strengthens – a false covenant of peace for seven years, but the Church won’t be here for that, and there will be wars and rumors of wars, famine, pestilences, earthquakes, etc. before then.)

Here are some recent events that seem to indicate that the end of the age is near.

One, here is an interesting quote about current events from Amir Tsarfati on Oct. 29, 2026:

  • 500 million Europeans expect 300 million Americans to protect them from 120 million Russians who cannot defeat 40 million Ukrainians.
  • Meanwhile, they fail to realize that they are being conquered by 2 billion Muslims who claim they are being persecuted by 8 million Israelis!

(My comment: 2 billion Muslims claiming they are being persecuted by 8 million Israelis is evidence of Jew-hatred and the fact that God said Israel cannot be destroyed at the end of the age.)

Two, here is Amir Tsarfati’s opinion on the outcome of the U.S.-Iran War (Oct. 31, 2026).

  • Ezekiel 38:5 explicitly names Persia as part of the coalition that will come against Israel.
  • My understanding of this prophecy is that an anti-Israel regime will remain in place in Iran, weakened but still hostile, and willing to join a broader coalition rather than attack Israel alone.
  • The passage identifies Persia’s participation; it does not explicitly identify the government that will be in power or describe its military strength. Those details reflect my interpretation of how the prophetic picture may unfold.
  • For these reasons, I do not expect the coming months to bring the outcome many are anticipating.
  • The United States and Israel can weaken the Iranian regime, degrade its capabilities, and force it to make difficult choices.
  • That does not mean they can guarantee its overthrow.
  • We must distinguish between what military force can accomplish, what political leaders promise, and what Scripture actually says.

Three, here is Amir Tsarfati’s opinion on the multitude of governments urging people to store food, water, etc. (Nov. 3, 2026):

  • Why are we so surprised to see governments urging people to prepare emergency supplies to last anywhere from three days to three weeks?
  • Look around you!
  • We are seeing natural disasters of increasing intensity and frequency, more wars and rumors of wars, more viruses, and more people under strong delusion.
  • This is a textbook end-times scenario.

Four, concerning the alliance between Russia and Iran at the end of the age: on Oct. 29, 2026, Russia announced that it will expand its workforce at Iran’s Bushehr nuclear power plant, signaling renewed cooperation between Moscow and Tehran despite continuing regional tensions following the U.S.-Israeli military campaign against Iran earlier this year.

Rosatom, Russia’s state-owned nuclear corporation, plans to increase its construction workforce at Bushehr to 200 by November, with additional personnel (about 500 more specialists) expected to return in early 2027 as work progresses on two new nuclear reactors.

Five, here is Jonathan S. Tobin’s (editor-in-chief of JNS, a columnist for Newsweek and a contributor to other publications) opinion on the U.S. election:

  • It was a big night for the Democrats and a very, very bad night for U.S. President Donald Trump and the Republican Party.
  • But amid the wreckage left by the blue wave that flipped control of both the House of Representatives and the Senate, members of the GOP aren’t the only big losers.
  • Supporters of the U.S.-Israel alliance and those who worry about the surge of antisemitism that has swept across the globe over the past three years should be equally worried about the implications of the Democrats’ midterm victory.
  • The consequences of the Democrats’ return to power on Capitol Hill will be primarily directed at the Trump administration.
  • But whatever that will mean for Trump’s ability to govern effectively in his final two years in office, control of Congress by a party that is now largely dominated by its intersectional left-wing will have a serious impact on the U.S.-Israel relationship as well as the battle against Jew-hatred.

(My comment: This will have a major impact on the decline of America and Bible prophecy. U.S. support for Israel will quickly decline, and God’s support for America will decline with it. But His support for Israel will not decline. God is still on the throne, and it is likely that the global march toward world government and the Tribulation Period has just sped up. The rejection of MAGA is a major step toward the rise of the Ten Kings.)

(My opinion: I believe the Ten Kings – Ten Toes – will be ten leaders over ten groups of nations on earth; Google regionalization.)

(More: A reader from Texas sent the following to me: “We are now under judgment; the Bible says you deserve the leader that you get, and also Ronald Reagan would say you are just one generation away from losing all of your freedoms, and we are that generation.”)

Six, on Nov. 4, 2026, House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries formally launched his bid to become the next Speaker of the House, unveiling an ambitious 100-day agenda that includes reversing President Donald Trump’s economic policies, investigating his administration, and ending the ongoing war with Iran.

(My opinion: There will be wars and rumors of wars at the end of the age, and one specific war called the Battle of Gog and Magog that involves Iran. The ongoing war with Iran will continue at least to that point.)

Here are some daily updates on the U.S.-Iran War.

Thurs. (Oct. 29, 2026) 229 days after Operation Roaring Lion/ Epic Fury (Day 189 of Trump’s latest ceasefire extension) (150 days from the day Pres. Trump said he will declare total victory over Iran) (36 days after Pres. Trump told the UN Gen. Assembly that Iran has a choice: capitulate or be annihilated. This is at least the third time that he has threatened to destroy Iran) (The war is now 1,118 days old).

  • An extraordinary meeting between Pres. Trump and senior military officials was held at the White House in which the Pres. was briefed on military options against Iran that could take place as soon as the midterm elections conclude. Simultaneously, several Gulf Arab states have been warned to prepare for a short, intense military campaign against Iran after the midterm elections.
  • The US has transferred 10 military cargo aircraft to Israeli air bases in the southern Negev region amid preparations for a possible military strike against Iran, the Israeli. Aircraft landed at Ovda and Nevatim air bases, while additional US military planes were reportedly dispatched to bases in Jordan, Saudi Arabia and Qatar.

  • Iranian media quoted the Islamic Republic’s supreme leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, after he supposedly met with the commander of Iran’s armed forces, Ali Abdollahzadeh, the commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Ahmad Vahidi, and the commander of the army, Amir Hatami: “We must be prepared to respond immediately and decisively to any threat from the enemy, without any geographical limitations. If the United States and Israel resume their attacks, it will be Iran that decides when and under what conditions the fighting will end.” Khamenei ordered that the list of targets be updated to include “tangible and intangible assets” of the United States and Israel, and emphasized the need to strengthen intelligence and combat capabilities.

  • India’s second-largest refinery main processing plant has been “destroyed” by a large blast of unknown cause.  All production stopped. That’s 1.48 billion people who just lost upwards of HALF of their gasoline and diesel fuel supply refinery.
  • Trump issued one of his strongest warnings yet to Iran, threatening devastating new military strikes as Washington and Jerusalem weigh their next moves against Tehran’s nuclear program. Trump said, “The only reason why I’m not finished with Iran is I want to be nice. I want to try and save all those lives if I can. But at some point we’re going to have to give them the hammer.”

Tues. (Nov. 3, 2026) 234 days after Operation Roaring Lion/ Epic Fury (Day 194 of Trump’s latest ceasefire extension) (155 days from the day Pres.   • A billboard reading “We Will Kill Trump” appeared in Tehran, marking the latest display denouncing the president amid renewed diplomatic efforts and targeted defense strikes in the Strait of Hormuz.

Wed. (Nov. 4, 2026) 235 days after Operation Roaring Lion/ Epic Fury (Day 195 of Trump’s latest ceasefire extension) (156 days from the day Pres.   • Iran’s Islamic regime has reportedly executed 32 people in less than a week amid growing unrest, as human rights organizations accuse Tehran of using capital punishment to intimidate opponents and suppress dissent.
  • US Special Forces Combat Search and Rescue (CSAR) units are now being moved into Israel. CSAR units and support teams are used to recover downed airmen and isolated personnel from hostile or contested areas.

  • Two oil tankers are presently on fire in the Oman Lane of the Strait of Hormuz. It is not known if they hit Mines or were struck by Drones or missiles.

Finally, are you Rapture Ready?

If you want to be rapture ready and go to heaven, you must be born again (John 3:3). God loves you, and if you have not done so, sincerely admit that you are a sinner; believe that Jesus is the virgin-born, sinless Son of God, who died for the sins of the world, was buried, and rose from the dead; ask Him to forgive your sins, cleanse you, come into your heart and be your Saviour; then tell someone that you have done this.
