I recently received an e-mail from a reader in India that said, “There are many issues around the Globe shaking the nations.”
My reply was, “Amen! Lots of issues shaking the nations.”
I knew that God often intervenes into the affairs of man and nations and that He sometimes refers to it as shaking the nations. So I started looking to see what I could find on this, and I came up with these comments by Dr. Dave Reagan.
Dr. Reagan said, “The Bible teaches that God never pours out His wrath without warning because He does not wish that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance and salvation” (2 Peter 3:9).
He said God warns us in two ways.
First, He raises up prophetic voices who identify the sins of the people and issue a call for them to repent.
Then, if they dismiss the prophets and refuse to repent, God will send remedial judgments — again, for the purpose of calling people to repentance.
He said, Deuteronomy 28 contains a detailed listing of the types of remedial judgments God will place on a nation that becomes rebellious against Him and His Word.
They include:
- Cities in chaos (verse 16)
- Crop Failures (verses 16-18, 38-40, 42)
- Livestock diseases (verses 18, 31)
- Loss of children (verses 18, 32, 41)
- Confusion in all undertakings (verse 20)
- Pestilence (verses 21-22)
- Diseases (verses 27, 35)
- Insanity (verses 28-29,34)
- Drought (verse 24)
- Troubled marriages (verse 30)
- Defeat in wars (verse 25)
- Foreign domination (verses 33,43-44)
He added that God specifically warned the nation of Judah that if they ignored His prophets and His remedial judgments, the ultimate result would be the destruction of their nation and the exile of their people worldwide.
Dr. Reagan started talking about the Covid pandemic, but I think his comments apply here.
He said:
- God has continued to send us prophetic voices, and we as a nation have continued to turn a deaf ear to their pleas for repentance and their warnings of impending destruction.
- God has also sent remedial judgments like the Vietnam War, Hurricane Katrina, wildfires, ungodly leaders, and now the pandemic that is killing people and ravaging our economy.
- Remedial judgments have also been occurring around the world.
- Consider, for example, the wildfires in Australia, the locust invasion in Africa, the epidemic of earthquakes along the Pacific “ring of fire,” and now the virus pandemic.
He added:
- The rebellion against God and His Word has also become a worldwide pandemic.
- This is the fulfillment of Bible prophecies about the end times. Jesus Himself said that He would return at a time when society would become as evil as it was in the days of Noah (Matthew 24:37)
- If you read Genesis 6, you will see that the two fundamental characteristics of Noah’s society were violence and immorality.
- That’s exactly what we see in our nation today and all around the world.
- In short, we have arrived.
- The world is scoffing at the prophetic voices and the remedial judgments.
Here are some recent events that seem to indicate that the end of the age is near:
One, concerning cities in chaos (the waves and seas of humanity roaring) and shaking the nations: on Oct. 15. 2026, it was reported that,
- Social unrest in France, Belgium, and now Albania raises the risk of riot contagion across Europe.
- Young rioters’ involvement gives far-left groups opportunities to exploit grievances and channel them into broader anti-government mobilization.

Two, concerning fuel shortages: on Oct. 15, 2026, it was reported that,
- A fuel supply crisis has disrupted daily life on Indonesia’s internationally renowned tourist island of Bali, forcing schools to suspend in-person classes, leaving motorists waiting in lines stretching for kilometers and prompting authorities to organize emergency deliveries.
- Long queues of motorcycles and cars have formed outside gasoline stations across the island, with some motorists waiting for hours to obtain fuel. The shortages have affected residents, businesses and transportation services on an island heavily dependent on tourism.
Three, concerning fuel shortages: on Oct. 15, 2026, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said,
- Iran is currently facing its worst crisis since the 1979 Islamic Revolution.
- He warned of a severe natural gas shortage after Israeli strikes on the country’s power plants, gas network, and factories.
- In the 48 years since the Islamic Revolution, we have never been in such straits and hardship.
- Iran was already short 300 million cubic meters of gas when attacks damaged its gas lines to the tune of 230 million cubic meters a day.
- He urged Iranians to save energy and wear warm clothes at home so factories could stay open.
Four, concerning violence as in the days of Noah: on Oct. 15, 2026, it was reported that a 16-year-old gunman opened fire with a shotgun in an Oregon elementary school, killing three children and a teacher before being fatally shot by a community member.
Five, concerning Russia aligning with Iran for a future Gog of Magog war: on Oct. 18, 2026, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu accused Russia of aiding Iran and using artificial intelligence to operate antisemitic bot networks targeting Israel and Jews worldwide.
Six, concerning wars and rumors of wars, chaos, and the shaking of nations at the end of the age: on Oct. 19, 2026, it was reported that Russian attacks have killed at least ten people and injured dozens across Ukraine over the weekend, while strikes on energy facilities have left more than a million people facing power outages (with winter coming on).

- The IRGC has issued evacuation orders to military bases around Iran.
- Iran has ordered a full military mobilization, placing its armed forces on the highest alert for the next 72 hours, per initial reports from Tehran. Iran has deployed air defense systems, ballistic missiles, and other ground forces throughout Iran, along with armored vehicles and tanks in southwestern Iran near the Iraqi border over the last 24 hours. There are grave concerns that Iran will cross the small, brief border into Iraq, then enter Kuwait to invade and destroy American bases in that tiny country. - Concerning the possibility of ending the war with Iran, Pres. Trump said if the US withdrew within the next year, it would likely have to return again. We want to make it so that they will never have a nuclear weapon, because if they had it, they would use it, in my opinion, instantaneously.

God loves you, and if you have not done so, sincerely admit that you are a sinner; believe that Jesus is the virgin-born, sinless Son of God, who died for the sins of the world, was buried, and rose from the dead; ask Him to forgive your sins, cleanse you, come into your heart and be your Saviour; then tell someone that you have done this.
