Where is the Pro-Israel Movement?
A critical problem right now is the erosion of support for Israel in America. We have two pressure points: the global explosion of Jew-hatred, and the same existing now within the American Church.
I saw something alarming this week.
On X, Christians United for Israel (CUFI) has 56,000 followers. Jew-haters Tucker Carlson and Barack Obama have 17 million and 120 million, respectively. The information war and narrative have been lost. Not nice to hear, but I think it’s reality.
CUFI is the biggest pro-Israel Christian organization in the world.
There is a poster on Facebook, a Catholic, who trafficks in propaganda against Israel, Jews, and Zionism. He’s wrong of course, but the time and effort to answer him is counterproductive, I think. There are too many of them now. Some pro-Israel groups do good work but are now outmatched in manpower and money. Fifteen years ago, I implored both Christians and Jews with the means to form a lean taskforce to answer such. All refused.
I became convinced that many of these organizations exist only to keep their salaries, 401Ks and perks going. Honestly. Why? Because the effort put out to actually attack the real problem was not there. The results certainly are not there.
I spent years compiling documented evidence that many of the biggest American pastors, churches, denominations, and ministries were both anti-Israel and anti-Bible overall.
Nobody listening.
One head of a pro-Israel group told a group of Jewish investors in New York City that he had the evangelical problem covered.
He did not.
My proof is the catastrophe we are facing now. Men like Andy Stanley have spent years telling his vast audience to “unhitch” from the Old Testament.
Last year, I had a book contract from a publisher to publish my disclosure about these anti-Israel elements. I named names. Even my two recent books have not sold like I thought they would. Initially, great. But I question whether people actually want to read and learn?
In the editing phase, the publisher I mentioned cancelled my contract. Do you know how rare that is? Authors can sue companies for that. Nobody does it. But it was done to me because I am too truthful about our anti-Israel problem. People will not tolerate hearing this kind of exposure. If Stanley is a pathetic excuse for a pastor, people rail at me because “That’s Charles Stanley’s son!” End of discussion.
The title of this column has a two-fold meaning. First, where are we at, with regard to PR efforts and two, where are the workers? Yes, yes, I know there are many thousands of faithful people in churches and individually doing everything they can. Kudos to them. Good job.
But the other side is massive, well-funded, and malevolent. It is this third element that I find most alarming. People in our culture have now crossed over into 2 Timothy 3 territory, without doubt. People are different now. Mean. Defiant. Unreasonable.
A different subject, but the actress Ellen Page, who now says she’s Elliot Page, has mutilated her body in order to live as a male. She will always be female (one cannot change his or her chromosomes) but demands acknowledgement as a male. This is deep insanity. How many of you in churches know professing Christians that are okay with this?
The same people okay with this are the same people baring their fangs at Christian Zionists. How many professing Christians do you know that have children identifying as lesbians and homosexuals and they are okay with that? Many, I suspect. This same group is at best indifferent to Israel.
The effort required to try and reverse the damage done is overwhelming. I humbly believe we should be doing a rescue operation—appealing to people who still have open minds—but not appealing to the masses, most of whom are not living in reality. It’s a waste of time.
Increasingly, I think we must be nearing the end. The world is groaning. It can’t go on like this indefinitely.
Put on the full armor of God, pray for mental and emotional stability, pray some more, and look forward to the future, to eternity. Stay safe, my friends.
