Hamas as Gargoyle
Very predictably, leaving Hamas breathing has kicked that problem can down the road. Because Western diplomats don’t live in the Middle East, they do not at all appreciate the specific problems Israel deals with, surrounded by Muslim Brotherhood-style terrorists.
Trump tried to find some solutions early on—moving Arabs out of the Gaza Strip, etc.—but the terrorists’ friends in media and politics prevented that from happening. There was real hope early on of sending those bums to Asia or Africa, but the usual suspects like Qatar, Saudia Arabia, and Iraq would not allow the best outcome. Keep the pressure on Israel above all else.
Then, Trump’s daily threats lost all their power. Arabs only understand defeat. By “not allowing” Israel to finish the job, and now sidelining them in negotiations that directly affect the Jewish state, Trump has left a massive problem on Israel’s doorstep.
Take the infamous pledge to disarm the terror group. Anyone paying attention knew that Hamas would never voluntarily give up their weapons. And they didn’t. Even now there is the promise that this will happen. It won’t.
According to one report:
“Hamas announced the dissolution of its government emergency committee in preparation for transferring administrative responsibilities to the national committee for the administration of Gaza. However, it continued to enforce physical control by executing alleged collaborators and displaying flags at the funerals of eliminated terrorist operatives. Members of the Board of Peace said they would judge actions rather than declarations.”
So you see, Hamas continues to murder and harass its own population. Just like the people of Iran were promised that help was on the way, the citizens of Gaza continue to be plagued by the thugs they voted into power.
Notice this clot of detail and madness, which is a direct outcome of leaving thugs in power. Imagine letting Ted Bundy help in the investigation of the murders he carried out:
“Taher al-Nunu, media adviser to the chairman of the Hamas political bureau, said a delegation headed by Zaher Jabarin, Hamas leader in Judea and Samaria, had arrived in Cairo to continue discussions with the Egyptians and the mediators on implementing the ceasefire agreement (Hamas Telegram channel, June 30, 2026). In the absence of Khalil al-Hayya, head of the Hamas political bureau in the Gaza Strip, who usually leads the delegation to the Cairo talks, ‘activists from the Palestinian factions’ claimed it reflected Hamas’ frustration with the numerous amendments introduced by Board of Peace representative Nikolay Mladenov to the factions’ latest response, which had been submitted in mid-June (al-Sharq al-Awsat, July 1, 2026). It was later reported that Jabarin left Cairo after delivering the Gazans’ response to the latest amendments proposed by Mladenov, without negotiating with the mediators or representatives of the Board of Peace. Reportedly, the delegation was not authorized to conduct negotiations and was instructed only to deliver the response. It was also reported that the response was submitted following a meeting held in Ankara, which had not previously been disclosed, attended by the head of Turkish intelligence, Ibrahim Kalin; the head of the Egyptian General Intelligence Service, Hassan Rashad; Khalil al-Hayya; and the head of Hamas abroad, Khaled Mashal.”
“Hamas’ frustration.” Wow! They don’t even respect the “Board of Peace.” They will never accept it!
So, Israel is forced to fight on and on. A knockout blow should have been applied beginning October 8, 2023, but the Biden gang wouldn’t permit it, either. The horrors of Oct. 7 are so extreme, only someone lacking basic human empathy would permit Hamas to continue on. They should have been uprooted long ago.
Hamas continues to be a dreadful thorn in everyone’s side. All because they were left in power by the duped West. The gargoyles are still hanging around. One of the great outrages of the modern era.
