The King Is Coming! :: By Holly Spate

“I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty” (Revelation 1:8).

As the days grow darker and the love of many waxes cold… as selfishness and pride dance in full display… as the abnormal replaces the normal… as the crazy gets crazier, we can be assured that our time on this earth is growing shorter.

We are clearly and very definitely living in a time when good is labeled as evil and evil is labeled as good. Each day’s news seems more outrageous than the day before. Truth is no longer true for many but is conveniently redefined as what “works for someone” – what fits into their lifestyle, agenda, or desires rather than what is actual truth. Even in many “churches,” there is a turning away from truth and an embracing and acceptance of what we’ll term “progressive teachings” – accepting with welcome arms sins God detests and clearly says so in His Word. Deception is everywhere and driving people deeper into darkness and despair. There is a sense of fear and hopelessness among many across the world.

We are living in a time where the most innocent among us are slaughtered on the altar of inconvenience and celebrated as a liberating event in the streets. A time when ungodly global agendas are being pushed. A time where unethical, lying, deceptive behavior is applauded while good, innocent, law-abiding citizens are punished. Fear and intimidation are weapons being used to silence many who disagree with the narratives, sinful lifestyles, and unnatural ideas being pushed on a daily basis.

The earth is groaning… groaning loudly. Christians and non-Christians alike can sense things aren’t right. There is an uneasiness with each passing day.

The words of the Bible, which believers have stood on and read for years, are now literally flying off the pages and making their way into our daily news headlines. Everything is lining up just as God’s Word perfectly and precisely predicted. And for those who are in Christ, we’re told not to be surprised by the things we are seeing.

The things we are witnessing – the selfishness, the evil – sin on steroids, is not a coincidence but rather a reality of the days we live in and a foreshadowing of what’s soon to come.

For believers, the state of our world should not come as a surprise. It’s hard to watch and can be difficult to stomach as we see evil running rampant, injustices occurring on what seems like a daily basis, and so many people lost, but it should make us aware that the age of grace will soon be coming to a close and that we need to keep our focus on Jesus. Never take your eyes off Jesus, and always remember that God is, always has been, and always will be on the throne!

As God’s children, we’re to not grow weary but rather are to put on the full armor of God and obediently fight the good fight, doing all we can for Him during the time we have left on this fallen earth.

Be encouraged today to hold tight to the Savior, pressing in, praying daily, and doing as much as you can in reverence and obedience to the One who created you and saved you for all eternity—the Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!

Let us not grow faint and be paralyzed by indifference, fear, laziness, or surprised by the situations of today’s society, but rather may we each keep on keeping on in obedience to all Christ calls us to do.

We are to witness and proclaim His truth; the only truth that sets souls free; the only truth that breaks the bondage and shackles of sin and brings rescue and redemption; the only truth that washes clean; the only blood shed that can save; the only One who can offer new mercies daily and forgiveness as far as the east is from the west.

1 Peter 4:7-11 reminds us, “But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer. And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins. Use hospitality one to another without grudging. As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.”

The time to do right, to speak, is now. It has always been now. Every believer throughout history has been given their gift of now. And now (each day you have) is your moment, your opportunity to do lasting things for God’s kingdom.

The countdown on God’s prophetic time clock is ticking at a fast pace, and we are witnessing in real-time what we strongly believe to be the end of the age of grace.

Brothers and Sisters, all the signs we’re seeing point to one exciting, indisputable truth:

Our redemption is drawing nigh…
