Divine Appointment: No Doubt! :: by Clay Smith

What a blessing it is to have one soul that the Lord lines up for you in witnessing, with His timing always perfect. I just had a Divine Appointment with a young man in front of my home as he was passing by, selling pest-control contracts in the neighborhood. In a few seconds of telling him “no thanks; I do the treatment myself,” proceeding forward as he was walking off, I asked the question if he knew Jesus.

Approaching Allen, I began to share with him for about twenty minutes, but to no avail, for becoming born again in Christ. Allen refused the Gospel. Theologically and Doctrinally from the Scriptures, I covered just about everything from Creation to the book of Revelation, even expositing how the Bible came into existence. From the Rapture to the end of Christ’s Millennial Reign, Second Coming, and into eternity, with where he would spend it depending on what decision he made or didn’t make.

I preached to him and shared Scriptures, including Grace and God’s Judgment, with him basically understanding what I said. He agreed I was harsh with him, but presenting the truth of salvation from the Scriptures. He stated he was Catholic but never really read the Bible (wasn’t aware of the book of Revelation), and he believed mankind just progresses and evolves into higher planes, I presume.

The Holy Spirit worked all of this out perfectly (He always has) as far as giving me exactly what to say and to present, along with this, many questions for him. Of course, the enemy tried to throw me off as usual, but I quickly was able to bring Allen back to the doctrine we were discussing.

I’ve always been an evangelist and witness in many ways, and this is just another one to share with. I just can’t believe it is getting this difficult, for someone to turn down the gift of Salvation and eternity in Heaven in these last days. Their heart is so hardened. These Discourses years ago would have brought many to their knees asking to be saved.

Wow, what does it take? I’m really flabbergasted. He didn’t even really believe the Bible was God’s Word, just writings from a bunch of old men in what they believed in those evolving days. Basically, what he was saying was that mankind continues to evolve, just like my truck. Really!

Allen had to continue on his way, working as he was supposed to, but I thanked him in allowing me to share with him. I told him to reconsider what I explained and to ask God to reveal Himself to him so he would come to the truth of who Jesus was. I told him I would pray for him, and I pray you will too.

I’m not giving up and hope all of you Saints continue to witness and share when the “Divine Appointment” presents itself. I realize it was not “his time,” and I sowed a seed, praying God would give him another opportunity. He was inquisitive and interested a couple of times, but that was it.

Those of you reading this that do not know and/or believe Jesus is Lord, there is still time for you; but we don’t know when that runs out. Time is short, and we are in the “end times” with the Rapture coming at literally any moment. Jesus is coming back for His Church in the clouds to take us to Glory (1 Thess. 4:17-18). There is a real heaven to gain, and a real hell to avoid.

Here are a few Scriptures you can look up to trust and believe in, because they are God’s Words. God’s Word is alive and active, converting the soul. I pray that they will save your soul.

John 17:17 “Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.”

Ephesians 2:8-9 “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God.”

Isaiah 55:6 “Seek ye the Lord while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near.”

Romans 3:23 “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”

Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of god is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

Acts 4:12 “Neither is there salvation in any other; for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.”

Here are some others you can look up.

Romans 3:10

John 3:15-16, 36

Philippians 3:20

1 Corinthians 15:3-4

1 John 5:13
