I Didn’t Have the Imagination! :: By Jan Markell

Be honest. You’re seeing things every day that you didn’t think you would see in your lifetime! It must be the last days. Up is down, and black is white. Evil is good, and good is evil. But some of these items listed, I never could have imagined. Here is just my latest short list of things I didn’t think I would see:

1)  Per Tucker Carlson, I have a brain virus because I support Israel. Who could have imagined such an accusation? As a self-proclaimed Christian, Tucker surely doesn’t know the Bible, which is as pro-Israel as you can get! “He that keeps Israel neither slumbers nor sleeps” (Psalm 121:4). Nor does he understand the word “irrevocable” (Romans 11:29), which tells us God keeps His promises (to the Jews).

2)  I never thought that I would get worn out, exhausted, and depleted from warning the clueless that time is running out. This is a new level of delusional thinking that life will only get better despite all the biblical warnings. It’s all falling apart, folks, so that last day’s issues can fall into place! Happy days are only in eternity.

3) The fact that we keep celebrating evil is mind-blowing and the essence of perilous times: Israel’s October 7 and the election of a radical—Zohran Mamdani as NY City Mayor. It’s beyond our imagination. First, we cheered for Hamas and now for Mamdani. Why do we keep having sympathy for the devil? I had hoped that died with the Rolling Stones. How will Mamdani honor the 25th anniversary of 9/11 next year? Does this bother anybody else?

4)  I never thought I would see, and I can’t understand, why most churches stayed silent after October 7, but those same churches were silent after Charlie Kirk was assassinated in September of this year. What gives? Why will pulpits today not take a stand?

5)  A violent school shooting—Annunciation Catholic School—transpired last August, a few miles from where I grew up in Minneapolis. The takeaway, sadly, was that no one should exercise “thoughts and prayers.” Not that blue cities like mine don’t work and that they draw criminals like a magnet. But that prayers were a worthless waste of time. Who could have imagined such a twisted conclusion? What a sign of the times! The predicted mockery is displayed.

6)  I didn’t think I would live to see antisemitism become normalized and even celebrated post-WW2. Zohran Mamdani won his mayoral election because he hated Jews. It is the new normal. Will this drive more Jews to Israel? You can count on it. Once again, they are running for their lives because there is only one safe haven for them. That is how God designed it.

7)  I couldn’t imagine the day when hundreds of thousands of Christians would be slaughtered in parts of Africa, and I would have to hunt for details. Why does no one care that over 200,000 have been killed? Since the victims weren’t Palestinians, I guess no one cared. No Jews, no news.

8)  I still can’t believe that a new study from George Barna’s Cultural Research Center reveals that millions of Americans no longer see many behaviors once considered sinful as wrong at all. In short, the very definition of sin is being rewritten. Mankind has become its own priest, pastor, prophet, and moral authority, and all are doing what is right in their own eyes (Judges 17:6; Deut. 12:8).

9) I didn’t think I would see the fulfillment of the red-green alliance—Islam and Marxism merging in my lifetime. Forget New York, my hometown, Minneapolis, barely dodged another Islamic mayoral victory. Our “Little Mogadishu” hosts almost 100,000 Muslims here in town and elects and celebrates Ilhan Omar. Twenty-four years after 9/11, the country is saying “Allah Akbar” in too many places. How about the global Shia Islamic center now open in Houston? How have we allowed this? My friend, Phil Haney, warned us, but he was mysteriously bumped off right after I met with him in 2021. Did you notice Al Qaeda made it into the White House on November 10?

10) And I never thought I would see prophecy conferences across America and the world close one by one. Covid did terrible damage and brought mine to an end a few years ago. But they continue to fall due to lack of interest, age of attendees, and the fact that so few comprehend the lateness of the hour, so attendance has been sinking!

So, these are just ten points in my latest list of things I didn’t expect to see! But one thing never changes: the fact that Jesus is coming again and we must not be silent. Somebody’s eternity depends on it.

John 16:20-24

“There was chaos, and the world rejoiced at the death of Jesus, just like the world rejoices at the evil today. Yet, there will come a time when people will rejoice because of God’s glorious promises coming to pass. The world is gloriously dark now because we are being prepared for the glorious Son of God who will bring great light.”

Sigils, Symbols, and the Spirit Realm :: By Joe Hawkins

(You will find a link to the Friday podcast at the end of the article.)

A World Speaking an Ancient Language

Symbols have power. They communicate ideas faster than words, bypassing logic and speaking directly to the soul. From ancient runes and hieroglyphs to modern logos and entertainment imagery, humanity has long used symbols as a way to bridge the natural and supernatural. But in recent decades, there has been a stunning revival of occult symbolism woven seamlessly into pop culture, corporate branding, and global institutions. What was once hidden in mystery schools and secret societies now flashes across billboards, music videos, and award shows — often dismissed as mere “artistic expression.”

Yet for those with eyes to see, this is not random design. It’s a language — a spiritual dialect — and it’s being spoken loudly across our world today.

The Hidden Power of the Symbol

In occult tradition, a sigil is a symbol designed to manifest intent. Practitioners draw, charge, and meditate upon these designs to open gateways between the spiritual and physical realms. Every shape, line, and curve is meant to channel energy toward a specific outcome — wealth, fame, influence, protection, or destruction.

Modern occultists describe sigils as “spiritual shortcuts” — visual prayers offered not to God but to lesser spirits. They believe that symbols bypass conscious resistance and embed themselves in the subconscious mind, influencing thoughts and behaviors.

The irony? The same principle is well known in advertising and marketing. Corporations spend billions crafting logos that trigger loyalty, desire, and trust at a glance. Whether it’s a bitten apple, an all-seeing eye, or interlocking rings, symbols are designed to make emotional connections and invoke unseen influence. This overlap between ancient mysticism and modern branding should cause any believer to pause and discern: has our visual culture become a digital temple of modern magic?

From Ancient Sigils to Global Symbols

To understand the resurgence of occult imagery, we must first trace its lineage. Ancient Babylon, Egypt, and Canaan were saturated with symbolic worship. The Eye of Horus represented divine illumination. The serpent was a symbol of hidden knowledge and transformation. The pentagram and hexagram served as portals of summoning.

When secret societies like the Rosicrucians, Freemasons, and later the Theosophical movement rose to prominence, they revived these same symbols — embedding them into architecture, national seals, and ceremonial art. The unfinished pyramid and the all-seeing eye on the U.S. dollar bill are prime examples. While many dismiss them as benign historical leftovers, these emblems reveal the influence of enlightenment-era mysticism — the belief that man can ascend to godhood through hidden knowledge.

Today, this philosophy has evolved into a new form of Luciferian illumination — the idea that enlightenment comes through rebellion, knowledge, and self-realization apart from God. And it’s no coincidence that the very symbols representing that rebellion are now the most visible motifs in entertainment, fashion, and politics.

The Entertainment Industry: A Modern Ritual Stage

If the ancient temple was the meeting place of gods and men, the modern stage has become its replacement. Music videos, award shows, and films are often filled with ritualistic imagery — pyramids, eyes, flames, serpents, portals, and inverted crosses. These visuals are not arbitrary. They echo patterns of ancient worship that glorify power, sensuality, and self-deification.

Consider how frequently we see the one-eye symbolism — performers covering one eye, forming a triangle over the eye, or appearing beneath illuminated pyramids. In occultism, this represents the “Eye of Lucifer,” the light bearer who offers forbidden knowledge. The imagery reinforces the same lie told in Eden: “You will be like God.”

Then there are ritual performances at public events — dancers in red robes, fiery stages resembling altars, and songs invoking the spirit of rebellion. When millions of viewers unknowingly participate by watching and cheering, they are, in a sense, spectators in a modern mass ritual.

The Apostle Paul warned that behind idols are not imaginary forces but demonic ones (1 Corinthians 10:20). When culture glorifies what God condemns, it opens spiritual doors. And through repetition, normalization, and spectacle, hearts become desensitized to darkness.

Corporate Logos and the Sigil Effect

While the entertainment industry flaunts occult symbolism openly, the corporate world cloaks it in sleek minimalism. Many of the most recognizable logos trace their design elements back to ancient spiritual imagery:

  • The Eye or Pyramid: Found in financial and tech companies, symbolizing surveillance, knowledge, and control — attributes of the coming Beast system.
  • The Serpent or Wave: Used in pharmaceuticals and medical branding, often a nod to the caduceus, an ancient emblem tied to healing and Hermes (the messenger of gods).
  • The Swirl or Spiral: Common in energy and communication companies, representing spiritual evolution or portals in esoteric art.
  • The Circle and Triangle: Representing unity of the spiritual and physical, or the threefold nature of divine power in occult teachings.

Of course, not every designer is consciously invoking demonic forces — but in a world governed by spiritual influence, intent doesn’t erase impact. When patterns recur across global commerce, politics, and technology, they reveal the fingerprints of a consistent spiritual narrative. Revelation 13 describes a coming world system under a unified mark, name, and number — a branded allegiance. Could it be that our world is already being conditioned to worship through symbols?

Symbols in Global Institutions

International organizations frequently employ iconography that draws from ancient pagan sources. The United Nations emblem — a world map surrounded by olive branches — may seem peaceful, yet its concentric rings mirror the ancient flat-earth cosmologies of Babylon.

The World Health Organization features the serpent-entwined rod of Asclepius, a Greek symbol linked to healing through divine intermediaries. Even the European Union flag of twelve golden stars on a blue field mirrors the crown of the woman in Revelation 12 — though inverted in meaning.

Whether intentional or not, these emblems collectively communicate a message of unity, healing, and enlightenment apart from Christ. The language of globalism often mirrors the promises of Babel — to build one world, one name, and one destiny without the need for God.

Behind these polished symbols lies a spiritual agenda — the rebuilding of the Tower of Babel in digital form, complete with its own gods: science, reason, and human potential.

Symbolism and Predictive Programming

Another dimension of symbolic communication is predictive programming — the idea that future events are foreshadowed through media to condition public perception. Films and television shows frequently introduce occult themes long before they manifest in real life: pandemics, transhumanism, alien contact, or a one-world order.

This concept is not accidental. It operates on the principle of gradual desensitization — what the Bible calls the “mystery of lawlessness already at work” (2 Thessalonians 2:7). The enemy doesn’t need to convince the masses overnight; he only needs to condition them through imagery and repetition until the abnormal becomes normal and the forbidden becomes fashionable.

When the Antichrist system rises, it will not seem foreign — it will feel familiar, even desirable, because we have already been trained to see its symbols as art, progress, and empowerment.

The True Mark of Allegiance

Revelation 13 describes a coming global mark — a symbol of allegiance that is both economic and spiritual. This mark will not appear out of nowhere; it will emerge in a world already fluent in symbolic worship. Whether through tattoos, chips, or digital IDs, humanity is being prepared to link identity with loyalty.

This is why the Church must be alert. While the enemy communicates through sigils and signs, believers are called to bear a different mark — the seal of the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 1:13). God’s mark brings life; the enemy’s brings bondage.

In Revelation 7, the servants of God are sealed on their foreheads before the judgments fall. This divine seal represents ownership and protection — a spiritual counterpoint to the Beast’s counterfeit mark. Every symbol on earth ultimately points to one of two realities: allegiance to the Creator or allegiance to the deceiver.

Discerning the Language of the Spirit Realm

How should believers respond to this rising tide of occult imagery?

  1. Be Aware. Recognize that our world operates on both visible and invisible levels. Not every logo or lyric is harmless. Spiritual discernment begins with awareness.
  2. Guard Your Gates. What we see, hear, and meditate upon shapes our inner world. Refuse to normalize darkness for the sake of entertainment.
  3. Educate Others. Teach your children and fellow believers how to recognize symbolic deception. Equip them with Scripture, not superstition.
  4. Walk in Authority. The Holy Spirit grants power over deception. We are not victims of symbols; we are ambassadors of Christ, bearing His light into darkness.

The enemy may use art, media, and symbols to spread deception — but God uses His Word, the greatest symbol of all: the Cross. In one simple image, it declares victory, redemption, and the defeat of every demonic power.

Conclusion: From Symbols to Substance

In a world saturated with sigils and symbols, the true spiritual battle is not fought with icons but with truth. The kingdom of darkness communicates through hidden language, but the kingdom of God speaks plainly: “I am the way, the truth, and the life.”

Modern magic may disguise itself as creativity, but at its core, it’s the same rebellion that began in Eden — the desire to be one’s own god. As the world drifts deeper into the visual spell of modern mysticism, believers must remember that light exposes darkness.

The next time you see a familiar symbol — an eye, a serpent, a spiral, or a triangle glowing above a stage — remember: this is the world declaring its allegiance. But our banner is higher, our symbol greater, and our Savior victorious. The language of modern magic may fill the airwaves, but the Word of God will stand forever.

“For the word of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God” (1 Corinthians 1:18).
