Resolution or Revolution

New Year’s resolutions of every description are no doubt being sworn as 2026 makes its entrance. I’ve never made such commitments over my many decades of life; I guess I’ve always known my weakness in not being able to stick to them.

There is, however, a resolution I hope to make central to this commentary—one I believe you and I must keep while we watch the burgeoning evil of this late prophetic hour.

We can keep this resolution—a heavenly directed one—because the very hand of God is guaranteed to be upon us while we try to keep it. It is Heaven’s answer in dealing with the other matter, “revolution,” in this commentary’s title.

There is a deluge of news counter to God’s design for humanity’s conduct. We look at the incessant evil each week in this column and in other venues, books, etc.

“Revolution” is the antithesis of Heaven’s directive for humankind. The revolution springs from the original rebel who first seduced the mother of us all. It is the result of the venom called “iniquity” introduced when Lucifer, now called Satan, convinced Eden’s only human inhabitants to eat the fruit of the forbidden tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

Since that time, the deadly disease of sin has coursed through the veins of every person who has ever lived–except for Jesus the Christ, whose birth into this fallen sphere we celebrated a week or so ago.

And He is the One who has given us the antidote to the deadly malady from which all of humankind suffers.

The spirit of indwelling revolution against God within all of us is the cause of the wickedness and rebellion demonstrated across the world at this very moment. That revolutionary hatred is pushing all of humanity ever nearer to the time of Tribulation. Jesus Christ’s death, burial, and Resurrection is the antidote to that deadly eternal virus when the person infected receives that antidote as God’s grace gift to each of us.

To be free of this satanically induced, rebellious revolution that condemns all people to separation from the Heavenly Father forever requires a Savior. Without the Savior who takes away the sins of the world, the human creation would be condemned to eternal destruction.

The returning King of all kings and Lord of all lords Himself said that if He didn’t intervene at Armageddon, no flesh would be savedJesus is the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world who takes away the sin that was introduced into Eden when Adam and Eve rebelled against their Creator.

He is the only way individuals can be saved. He is the Savior of the world!

And this is the truth wrapped up within the resolution for this new year that we must make and carry out. The message wrapped within this resolution is the only answer to what ails the entire world at present, the evil and wickedness that confront us in hourly news each and every day.

Jesus, the Savior of the world, issued Heaven’s command. It’s a command that we as members of God’s eternal family, saved by the matchless grace of Christ’s sacrifice on the cross at Calvary, must resolve to carry out in this New Year. Here is our Lord’s command, which we must make our resolution to obey in 2026.

“Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, into a mountain where Jesus had appointed them. And when they saw him, they worshipped him: but some doubted. And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen” (Matthew 28:16-20).

Let us resolve to fight against the rebellious evil of this satanic revolution raging in this fallen world. Jesus and the message of the gospel must be presented to everyone on earth in order to offer Heaven’s antidote to the deadly sin infection afflicting all of humanity.

Here is that message:

“That if you will confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and will believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart man believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation” (Romans 10:9-10).

Pakistan Ministry Mission Appeal from Terry James

To my Rapture Ready and Prophecyline family: I again solicit your support in spreading God’s Word in Pakistan.

Your generosity in past missionary efforts has just been wonderful beyond measure. I again prayerfully ask that you open your spiritual heart in helping fund the distribution of the books I’ve given to our pastor in Pakistan to use while he preaches and teaches about our Lord Jesus Christ.

Pastor Anil Jasper translated my little book, Prophecy Power: Strength from God to Face Your Future. He has now also translated into the Urdu language my small book, HeavenVision: Glimpses into Glory. This is the book in which I tell about my widow-maker heart attack on Good Friday of April 22, 2011, when I was somewhere in the heavenly sphere each time my heart stopped. The voluminous documentation of that medical emergency shows why my survival was so unusual that the cardiological association gave me their “Patient of the Year” award and asked me to speak to their convention.

Of course, at the heart of my testimony is the salvation message that Jesus alone can save the soul from an eternity apart from God the Father.

The first book Pastor Anil translated and continues to distribute to the people of his country, Prophecy Power, remains a great witness of Christ’s saving power. HeavenVision will now add a second witnessing tool that will help the pastor win souls for God’s eternal family.

I have special permission from my publishers to donate these books to this ministry. I receive no compensation from their distribution in Pakistan.

Your donations are essential to carry out this all-important mission. I believe your contributions will result in great heavenly rewards some eternal day when we all come before our Lord at the judgment seat of Christ.

We need funding to print and distribute these books beginning this month.

May the Lord bless you mightily for helping in this mission to the people of Pakistan.

Again, I don’t have a way to accept credit cards or PayPal-type contributions. I ask that you send checks to the address below.

Please put in the line at the bottom of your check: For our Pakistani Mission.

Also, please include your email address so I can properly thank you individually. Being blind now since I was fifty-one, sending out letters of thanks is beyond my ability. But emails are easily within my capability, and I certainly want to thank each of you.

Please make the check out to my name–Terry James—and send to:

***P.S. I am thankful and so pleased to announce that we have received a donation offer that will greatly help in this effort to fund printing and distribution of my books in Pakistan.

A most generous brother in Christ has offered up to $7,500 in matching funds for donations we receive.

In other words, for each donation you send, he will match with an equal amount up to $7,500.

When You See

The verse speaks directly to the day in which we live. It assumes many things that couldn’t possibly be true unless Israel was once again a nation, yet still in unbelief. The words Jesus spoke on this occasion provide us with insight into what we will see happen in the Middle East in the coming year.

The setting was the Mount of Olives where the Lord answered the disciples’ inquiry regarding the “end of the age” and “the sign of your [Jesus’] coming” (Matthew 24:3). A proper examination of Christ’s response would fill a large book, but for my purposes, I want to focus on Matthew 24:15.

“Therefore when you see the ‘abomination of desolation,’ spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place” (whoever reads, let him understand)…”

Here Jesus quotes from the prophecy recorded in Daniel 9:27 depicting what will happen at the midpoint of the seventieth week of years, which God designated to fulfill His purposes for the Jewish people and Jerusalem (Daniel 9:24-27). There the Lord told His prophet of a coming prince who would establish a covenant with “the many,” but negate the agreement by defiling a future Jewish temple, the “abomination of desolation.”

The Assumptions

To better understand how this prophecy fits with our day, we will look at all the events Jesus assumed would happen in order for this future world leader, whom we identify as antichrist, to desecrate the temple.

First, He assumed that Israel would once again become a sovereign nation. Until 1948, there has never been a time since Jesus spoke these words when it could’ve entered into such an agreement with a world leader. Rome occupied and dominated Israel at the time, and in AD 70, a Roman general destroyed Jerusalem as well as the Second Temple.

The second assumption inherent in Jesus’ words is that another temple would exist halfway into the seven-year agreement. As we look at Israel today, is it possible that Israel will build a temple in the next few years complete with animal sacrifices? More than that, it seems certain to happen at some point. Advanced reparations for its construction and animal sacrifices are already in place, and once Israel has access to the Temple Mount, these things will quickly become a reality.

Third, Jesus assumed the future nation of Israel would exist in unbelief such that its leaders would enter into what Isaiah termed “a covenant with death” (Isaiah 28:14-18) rather than trust the Lord for their security. Today, we readily understand how they might opt for a period of sustained peace following the ongoing years of warfare and nonstop threats against the nation’s existence.

Lastly, Jesus anticipated that the Jewish people alive at the time of antichrist would be aware of His warnings in Matthew 24:15ff and that many of them would flee just as He told them to do. Why else would He provide the Jewish people with such instructions if those living at the time would not be aware of them? Today, there’s a strong Gospel presence in Israel along with a widespread awareness of Bible prophecy. Many of the Jews will remember Jesus’ words when they see antichrist in the Holy Place.

But There’s More

Today, we understand how television and satellite technology will enable the entire world to look at the dead bodies of the two witnesses and enable people all over the world to watch their resurrection and ascent into Heaven (Revelation 11:1-12). With news networks broadcasting 24/7, it’s not difficult to imagine the constant attention they will receive after antichrist kills them.

There’s also something remarkable in Jesus’ warnings to the Jewish people in the aftermath of antichrist’s defilement of the temple. He implies they will have instantaneous access to it as it occurs.

The Lord earlier said that in the last days people would “hear of wars and rumors of wars” (Matthew 24:6). When it comes to the “abomination of desolation,” however, He says, “When you see” (24:15). These don’t seem to be people sitting in front of their televisions, but they are rather “on the housetop” and “in the field” (24:16-18). Yet somehow those scattered about Judea at the time will “see” antichrist in the temple and thus recognize their need to run for their lives without stopping to even grab their coats.

Is it any wonder that Jesus added, “whoever reads, let him understand?” His words were meant for a much different time than the first century AD; one the disciples couldn’t possibly have understood. How could they comprehend a camera recording live events inside the Temple for all to see in real time?

Jesus’ exhortation for the Jewish people living at this time to flee suggests they will immediately know what antichrist has done because they will “see” it happen. Could it be that Jesus foresaw the smartphones of today that would provide them with this instant access to events on the Temple Mount? Perhaps they will be watching a planned event only to recoil in horror at what they see happen in the Holy Place.

A little bit later in the discourse, Jesus again used the phrase “when you see” in a way that applies to all believers watching Israel blossom in these last days:

“From the fig tree learn its lesson: as soon as its branch becomes tender and puts out its leaves, you know that summer is near. So also, when you see all these things, you know that he is near, at the very gates. Truly, I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place” (Matthew 24:32-34).

The fig tree is a symbol of Israel, and what we see happening in the Middle East tells us we most certainly live in the last moments before Jesus appears to whisk us away to Heaven. Will this happen in 2026? I don’t know, but I pray that it does. We do recognize that we live in the season of Jesus’ return for us, and based upon all that we see happening with Israel, it’s possible we will not see 2027 before He comes for us.

What will happen in 2026?

I don’t know.

Anyone making big, bold predictions doesn’t know what he or she is talking about. This year was momentous, but aren’t they all? Since the beginning?

This past year was the year the attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities actually happened. We had waited 20 years. It was also the year a global tsunami of anti-Semitism swept over us. Moreso that at any time in the past 80 years. Today’s generations have no memory of Hitler’s hordes, and they are easily influenced by liars and deviants…many of them masquerading as American conservatives.

So we wonder: how fast will the train to eternity speed up in 2026?

In my humble opinion, one thing I think we should all focus on—besides continued support for Israel and study in God’s Word—is keeping our families safe. Through prayer, contingency plans, paying attention/keeping your eyes open.

The next 12 months might be momentous, or merely busy and chaotic. Another election steal in the midterms wouldn’t surprise me at all.

We have to stay steady. Remember that. When our present age threatens to overtake us, stay steady. Concentrate on that. Pray hard. Talk to the Lord with an open heart.

As to our love, Israel, God has His People where He’s always had them, in the safety of His mighty hand. Let’s look at where that is right now.

Hamas and Islamic Jihad claim they do not know where the body of the last Israeli hostage is located. Hamas also reiterates its insistence that it will not disarm, at the same time accusing Israel of delaying “phase 2” of the “ceasefire.” How’s that for insanity? Trump told Hamas from the beginning that disarming was a centerpiece of his plan, and they have continually thumbed their nose at him. Just this week, he has repeated his threat that “all hell will break loose” if they don’t. Sigh.

The Gaza Strip remains split in half militarily. Israel controls the outer perimeter. Just this week they discovered a series of what looked like homemade missile sites, crude weapons jutting-out of barrels. Hamas will never voluntarily give up the insane, satanic agenda of wiping out the Jews. We had hoped they would have been eradicated but that window of opportunity left when Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner blundered into the diplomatic corps.

And get this: In Italy, nine Hamas operatives were caught fundraising through fictitious organizations. Truly, “globalize the intifada” is a real thing. It is shouted on college campuses in the United States and elsewhere.

As Israelis continue to grieve lives snuffed out by the devils of Hamas, the terror group incredibly released a document “justifying” their malevolence!

“Hamas issued a 40-page document in English and Arabic entitled, ‘Our Narrative: Al-Aqsa Flood – Two Years of Steadfastness and the Will for Liberation.’ The document is part of Hamas propaganda to promote the ‘achievements’ of the campaign, and detailed the ‘motives’ for the October 7 attack and massacre, the course of the assault and the war, the movement’s efforts to halt Israeli ‘aggression,’ and the ‘achievements’ of the ‘operation.’ It also addressed the next stage of the ceasefire agreement, including full Israeli withdrawal from the Strip and its reconstruction, ‘protection’ of Jerusalem Judea and Samaria, opposition to normalization with the ‘occupation,’ and international prosecution of Israel. Hamas falsely claimed that the attack was intended to strike only the Gaza Division and military targets, not civilians and children, but immediately admitted that it held ‘prisoners who were not military personnel.’ Hamas also falsified the number of Israeli soldiers killed in the war. Hamas claimed the movement was an integral and deeply rooted part of Palestinian society and could not be uprooted, and that assessments suggesting the Palestinian people would abandon the ‘resistance’ or not support Hamas are ‘a gamble which will fail’ (Hamas Telegram channel, December 24, 2025).”

Burning children alive in front of their parents is legitimate?

So in this way, with this example, we can fairly accurately make general predictions: Hamas will continue its satanic agenda. Terrorism and Jew-hatred will continue across the world. All these things must apparently be until Jesus Christ returns.

We long for Him. Most of us are way past ready. We all have our own personal situations. Family. Careers. If we’re paying attention, we know that Jesus predicted things would wax worse and worse until the very end.

As I’ve said many times, we really don’t have to worry about Israel. We have tangible proof of that. Hamas intended that Hezbollah and Iran would join the fight on October 7, 2023, when their missile stocks would have placed Israel in lethal danger.

But that didn’t happen. God’s Word is the only true word in our world. God constantly backs that up and keeps all His promises.

So let’s resolve, together, to keep praying for each other in the New Year. Pray for the lost. Remember to use fulfilled prophecy as a tool for reaching the lost.

I wish you peace and contentment in this flawed world. We don’t know exactly what is coming, and as individual humans, we have no real ability to predict anything with accuracy, apart from Christ’s promises. Don’t try.
