The Latest: US and Iranian officials meet face-to-face in Islamabad ceasefire talks
The United States and Iran began face-to-face negotiations Saturday in Pakistan, days after a fragile, two-week ceasefire was announced. The war that has killed thousands of people and shaken global markets entered its seventh week. The White House confirmed the direct nature of the talks. The talks came after U.S. and Iranian officials met separately with Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. The U.S. delegation led by Vice President JD Vance and the Iranian delegation led by Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf were discussing how to advance the ceasefire already threatened by deep disagreements and Israel’s continued attacks against the Iranian-backed Hezbollah in Lebanon.

Feeding Our Future fraudster who donated to Keith Ellison pleads guilty
Two more defendants in the Feeding Our Future fraud scheme have pleaded guilty, including one who donated to Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison’s reelection campaign. On Thursday, Gandi Yusuf Mohamed pleaded guilty to one count of money laundering. His brother, Suleman Yusuf Mohamed, pleaded guilty to wire fraud on April 2. Multiple other relatives pleaded guilty last month. This specific group of defendants worked together to steal and launder a total of $14.6 million in nutrition program funds, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office. In 2021, Gandi Mohamed donated $2,500 to Ellison’s campaign. The donation was made days after Ellison participated in a meeting with various Feeding Our Future associates, the Center of the American Experiment.

Minneapolis advances measure that could lead to legalization of ‘adult bathhouses and sex venues’
Frequented almost exclusively by gay men seeking anonymous sex, bathhouses were outlawed by Minneapolis in 1988 as AIDS spread throughout the gay population. On Thursday, the Minneapolis City Council voted to begin the legislative process that could potentially lead to the legalization of “adult bathhouses and sex venues.”

A Never-Before-Seen Radio Telescope Detection of Twin Particle Jets Reveals a Titanic Collision in the Making
Two large particle jets in the core of a distant galaxy, observed in a first-of-its-kind radio telescope detection, likely represent two black holes in their final phase before merging, a predicted but previously unobserved type of event. According to a new paper published in the Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society, which argues that pairs of jets push particles at near light speed from the heart of the Mrk 501 galaxy, these black holes form a binary system, orbiting each other and drawing ever closer to their final collision, an important event for the growth of supermassive black holes. … researchers believe that these collisions must be relatively common on a universal scale, they have never been directly observed, and theoretical models have yet to describe their final phase.

An Orban loss in Hungary’s election could be the turning point Putin fears
Hungary’s legislative elections on Sunday are being closely watched in Moscow. Prime Minister Viktor Orban has long been Russian President Vladimir Putin’s closest ally within the European Union, and a victory for the opposition Tisza party led by Peter Magyar could undermine the Kremlin’s influence in the bloc.

Britain backs down after Trump criticism, retains Chagos archipelago
Britain is reversing its decision to hand over the Chagos Islands in the Indian Ocean to Mauritius, following U.S. pressure. The announcement prompts the Mauritian foreign minister to hit back, promising to “do everything” to reclaim the archipelago. The Chagos Islands have been a British territory since the 19th century and host an American and British military base. British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has previously signed an agreement to return the archipelago to Mauritius. However, the Diego Garcia air base would be leased to the UK. The process has been halted following criticism from US President Donald Trump, prompting a reaction from Mauritius.

Thousands Return to the Western Wall as Jerusalem Holy Sites Resume Full Access
After forty days of restricted access at the Western Wall Plaza, Jerusalem’s holy sites reopened on Thursday morning, restoring full public worship following a shift in defense policy and updated Home Front Command guidelines. By sunrise, the plaza was already filling, with thousands of worshippers returning to the Western Wall after a prolonged period in which entry had been limited to roughly fifty people at a time. From the early morning hours, the scene at the Western Wall shifted rapidly from quiet restriction to mass prayer.

BREAKING: U.S. Destroyers ENTER Hormuz; Iran Talks COLLAPSE; IDF Sieges Hezbollah
In a dramatic development, two American destroyers passed through the Strait of Hormuz without Iranian approval for the first time since the war began. CENTCOM said the movement was part of a broader mission to shape the conditions for clearing naval mines from the strait. Yair explains that one major obstacle remains Iran’s own minefield, which, according to the report, Tehran itself cannot fully locate and clear.

Iran still has thousands of ballistic missiles, can retrieve launchers stored underground
US intelligence indicates Iran still maintains a substantial missile capability despite recent strikes, with thousands of weapons and surviving launch systems preserved in underground facilities, according to reports. About 50% of Iran’s launchers have been rendered inoperable, but many of those systems could be repaired and returned to use. The same report said US officials are concerned Iran could use the current ceasefire period to rebuild parts of its ballistic missile arsenal.

Hezbollah fires dozens of rockets into Israel; IDF hits 200 terror targets in Lebanon
Hezbollah launched 40 drones and rockets into Israel on Saturday as Israeli forces struck targets in Lebanon, while talks to end the Iranian conflict began in Islamabad with disputes over Lebanon’s role in a ceasefire. Earlier, UAVs crossed from Lebanon toward the western Galilee, and some were intercepted. Interception fragments fell in an open area in Karmiel.

Israeli report warns of potential catastrophic collapse in US support
Within the Republican camp, the report identifies a fierce internal struggle between the MAGA leadership and the radical “America Only” movement. A new, comprehensive report by the Ministry of Diaspora Affairs and Combating Antisemitism reveals a significant and growing rift between the leadership of the American conservative movement and its younger generations of voters. The findings suggest a fundamental shift that is expected to reshape the bedrock of the U.S.-Israel alliance.

Report: China to arm Iran
China is expected to send arms shipments to Iran in the coming weeks. The report states that the shipments would primarily include advanced air-defense systems, such as shoulder-fired missiles, which could strengthen Iran’s ability to counter potential airstrikes by Israeli and U.S. forces if hostilities resume. The sources added that China may attempt to obscure the shipments’ final destination by routing them through a third country.

Netanyahu declares: War with Iran is not over
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says Israel has not yet completed its operations in Iran, but existential threat no longer hangs over Israel. ‘Had we not launched these two operations, Iran would already have a nuclear bomb.’

The Board Of Peace: Could Israel Be Walking Into Another Kind Of Hostage Crisis?
The Board of Peace, an invitation-only, U.S.-led, international organization, was created in January to oversee the Gaza ceasefire, manage reconstruction, and weigh in on global conflicts. But its mandate is far broader and more global than rebuilding Gaza, which isn’t mentioned anywhere in its founding charter. Rather, the board “seeks to promote stability, restore dependable and lawful governance, and secure enduring peace in areas affected or threatened by conflict.” It exists outside the United Nations (UN) and is built to be faster, more centralized, and more insulated from bureaucracy. Now, more than 20 countries, many with open hostility or deep suspicion toward Israel, will have a seat at the table making decisions about the Jewish state’s future, security, and daily reality.

Netanyahu: Iran would already have nuke if we didn’t attack; Israel ‘smashed’ its nuclear and missile programs
If Israel hadn’t attacked Iran twice in the past year, PM Netanyahu says, the Islamic Republic “would already have a nuclear weapon.” He says that Israel had intelligence last year that Iran was preparing to turn its enriched uranium into a nuclear weapon.

Negotiating With Tehran: The Danger of Diplomacy
Every aspect of Iran’s commitments — uranium removal, dismantlement of nuclear and missile infrastructure, and cessation of destabilizing activities — must be fully verified. To relieve any pressure prematurely would be to give the regime what it seeks: space to recover, regroup, and ultimately resume its previous trajectory.

 Israel Analysis

 The Bible foresaw Iran

By Jim Fletcher

As if we needed more confirmation that Scripture is true, we see a development in the Middle East that proves Paul’s famous words in Romans 1:28—

“Furthermore, just as they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, so God gave them over to a depraved mind, so that they do what ought not to be done.”

It goes on to say of course that such people sink into a quicksand of wickedness, evil, and insanity. Do we have a better example today than the mullahs in Iran?

History is littered with regimes that tried to get rid of the Jews. In this sense, the Jews are “unbeaten” versus such foes. Yet the latter continue to try!

Iran now claims the capability of reaching Israel with lethal missiles in “400 seconds.” That’s under seven minutes.

The Sobh-e-Sadegh newspaper published a threat in Hebrew on its front page on Monday, warning that a new hypersonic missile reportedly developed by Iran could reach Israel in 400 seconds.

“400 seconds: General Amir Ali Hajizadeh, commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps’ (IRGC) Aerospace Force, said that Iran has obtained technology for hypersonic missiles,” wrote the newspaper.

The premise is that the missile could eliminate defense systems, thus creating an avenue for a mass launch of drones and missiles. Of course, this is Israel’s nightmare scenario. Such possibilities have been discussed, relevant to Lebanon as a staging ground. For many years, Hezbollah has had tens of thousands of rockets aimed at Israel. This time, the Iranians seem poised to join that fight directly.

Hassan Tehrani Moghaddam, the “father” of Iran’s missile program, sent a letter to Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. In it, he references a “quick response super-fast missile.”

He also referenced the development of satellite launch vehicles, which have resulted in the Qaem 100 satellite launcher. (It is worth noting that in 2011, Moghaddam was killed in an explosion in Bidganeh; Western media reported that the Mossad was responsible.

According to the Jerusalem Post:

“’This missile has a high speed and can maneuver in and out of the atmosphere. It will target the enemy’s advanced anti-missile systems and is a big generational leap in the field of missiles,’ commander Amir Ali Hajizadeh was quoted as saying.”

Terrorists’ rhetoric is usually epic, and this time is no different. IRGC (Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps) General Amir Ali Hajizadeh Hajizadeh said:

“Both defense systems that defend inside the atmosphere and extremely expensive systems that deal with missiles outside the atmosphere, this new missile of the Islamic Republic of Iran will pass all of them and I don’t think that technology will be found that can deal with it for decades to come.”

It’s not clear if this system has been tested.

Hypersonic missiles are missiles that travel at a speed of Mach 5 or greater. While ICBMs can also reach that speed, they travel in a predictable arc, making them easier to confront. In contrast, hypersonic missiles are maneuverable, giving them the ability to dodge defense systems and evade radar.

Various superpowers (along with North Korea) have tested hypersonic missiles, although not much is known about them in the public. Iran’s entry into this exclusive club, if true, spells a new threat to Israel.

Today, we are operating in several realms: we watch closely political developments and military threats to our own country and our beloved ally, Israel. But we also as believers place our trust fully in the Lord. Let us resolve to continue to pray for Israel, for her physical protection, until that glorious moment when her spiritual renewal is complete.

Iran will learn too late that it has always been folly to threaten the Jews.
