Israel Bashing Is Unwise :: By Dennis Huebshman

Genesis 12:2-3: “And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you and make your name great so that you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and him who dishonors you, I will curse, and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.” (ESV – all emphasis is mine)

In the above verses, and throughout all the Bible, when the Father states “I Will,” it is a promise, and God does not lie or go back on His given word (Numbers 23:18, 1 Samuel 1:29, Hebrews 6:18 and Titus 1:2). Also, God’s promises have no human timeline.

In our present-day Congress and some state and local government offices, there is an effort being made to withdraw U.S. support for anything that has to do with Israel. This is disturbing, as the United States was the first country to recognize Israel as a sovereign nation on May 14, 1948.

It is no secret that there are some Muslim-based groups that are trying to turn our country into an anti-Jewish nation. Unfortunately, they are becoming a volatile force in convincing other government people to join their beliefs and actions. They do not take God’s word seriously.

Looking at Bible prophecy, when Israel declared that they had returned to their own land and again were a sovereign nation, they were almost immediately attacked by Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, Iraq and Saudi Arabia. Miraculously, Israel survived not only this, but also major conflicts in 1967 and 1973.

There were ten biblical prophecies that have been fulfilled since that 1948 day:

1.) Jacob’s descendants regain control of Israel. Prophesied in Amos 9:14-15 – approx. 2,700 years ago.

2.) Israel brought back to life. Ezekiel 37:10-14, valley of dry bones – predicted approx. 2,900 years ago.

3.) Isaiah 66:7-8 – Israel will be reborn in one day. First time in approximately 2,900 years, and immediately attacked, as stated above.

4.) Israel re-established as a “united nation” Ezekiel 37:21-22 prophesied approx. 2,600 years ago. Israel was brought back from the nations where they had been dispersed.

5.) The second Israel is more impressive than the first. Jeremiah 16:14-15 – first established approx. 3,400 years ago. Second was May 14, 1948.

6.) Ezekiel predicts when it would be reestablished – Ezekiel 4:3-6. Israel to be punished 430 years – if no repentance, multiplied by 7 (Leviticus 26:18, 21, 24, 28).

430 years – 670 years captivity – 380 years – times 7 equals 2,520 years based on 360-day calendars. Adjusted to modern calendar – 2,484 years. From 536 BC to 1948 AD – 2,484 years. 536 was the end of captivity, but Israel did not repent as a nation.

7.) People will return to their “own land,” Ezekiel 34:13 – many started returning from lands where they had been dispersed, beginning in the 1800’s. Starting in 1948, millions returned.

8.) God would watch over Israel – Jeremiah 31:10. Just the fact that they weren’t exterminated in the 1948 war and all conflicts since is definitely miraculous.

9.) Israel’s army is disproportionately powerful. Leviticus 25:3:7-8. Israel would have supernatural power to prevail during conflicts. Example given: 5 people would chase away 100, 100 would chase away 10,000. Today, Israel has one of the most powerful militaries in the world.

10.) Fortunes would be restored. Deuteronomy 30:3-5. Today, Israel is among the top 8 of the most prosperous countries; total wasteland before 1948, now a top agricultural country, and massive gas and oil deposits have been discovered recently.

This world is rapidly heading toward the end of our current era, and the next period of time will be worse than anything we have experienced to date. However, as Matthew 24:36 states, “But concerning that day or hour, no one knows, not even the angels of Heaven, nor the Son, but the Father only.”

While Jesus was on this earth, he allowed himself to be “lower than the angels for a time.” After He ascended back to Heaven, He was again Fully God, and has all the knowledge the Father has.

Jesus was saying that we need to be prepared because we are not guaranteed tomorrow (Matthew 6:34, James 4:13-15 and Proverbs 27:1). The best action we can take is to truly receive and accept Jesus as our Eternal Savior (Romans 10:9-13). Once we have become a part of His precious flock, the Holy Spirit will reside within us, as given in numerous verses in both the Old and New Testaments.

When the Trumpet of God sounds, and there is a shout from an archangel signaling the start of the Rapture (1 Corinthians 15:51-53 and 1 Thessalonians 4:13-17), the Father will have all true believers taken up to meet Jesus in the air. This is to keep His promise about our not going through the wrath/tribulation (1 Thessalonians 1:10, 1 Thessalonians 5:9-10 and Revelation 3:10).

All who do not have Jesus as their Savior when they take their last breath on this earth will appear at the Great White Throne Judgment of Revelation 20:11-15. No one there will enter Heaven, but will be cast into the lake of fire for eternal punishment.

All who are part of the Savior’s flock will appear at the Judgment Seat of Christ, as given in 2 Corinthians 5:10. This is a judgment to gain or lose rewards, but the final outcome will be eternity in Heaven with Jesus.

It’s a choice each person must make for themselves, as the Father will force no one either way. Today would not be too early to make your decision if you haven’t already done so. Our Savior is there 24/7 to receive our calls for Him to save us for all eternity. It is absolutely the most important decision you will ever make

Shalom! Peace be with you!
