We’ve all heard that saying, and the same can be said of mankind. “If it walks like a man and talks like a man, then it’s probably a man – and a sinful one at heart. “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.”
The Bible says we have all sinned and come short of the glory of God, that there’s “none righteous – no not one.” I’m on that list myself. But thankfully, we can be saved by God’s grace. “We are saved by grace, and that not of yourselves lest anyone should boast.”
There is nothing we can do to earn our salvation, for “all our righteousness are as filthy rags” to Him. Even preachers and rabbis are sinful men like the rest of us. Is it any wonder so many of them fail us – and ultimately God?
The problem stems from our inclination to gratify our longings by doing things that are wrong. Power, greed, sexual gratification, money – who can resist? Only the person who has self-control (which is one of the fruits of the Spirit) can overcome the inclination to sin. It is something I’ve had to contend with all my life – as I’m a vocal person who blurts out – or rather used to blurt out anything that came to mind, to say nothing of the little faults I harbored.
Not being able to hold my tongue, I remember holding a Nazarene pastor to account when he preached something that contradicted scripture. I confronted him only after his little flock had left for the day. Of course, I never went back. Nearly every pastor I encountered in my life was faulty, which led me to believe that they were only human, like the rest of us – sinners saved by Grace.
My advice to you is not to put mere men on a pedestal; they will fail you every time. “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” Today, I respect what every man has and realize that we all have differing opinions about almost everything – that’s why I cling to the Bible, which is never wrong about anything. An added benefit is that by diligently searching scripture – it draws us ever closer to God.
As I look over humanity, I realize that we all come from one set of parents – Adam and Eve, and truly, we are all in the same boat of life. Therefore, I’ve found it wise to treat others as myself since we are all kindred spirits. Notwithstanding those who are in complete opposition to God, people whom I confront unabashedly but with love, since I am a sinner too.
What a state of being we find ourselves in, especially in this end-times scenario we are forced to live in; God, help us. You would think that we human beings who are made in God’s image would know better than deny him who created all things for our benefit just because he loved us so. Incredibly, some of us are convinced that God doesn’t even exist. Satan has blinded those who have resisted the Holy Spirit.
If our loving heavenly Father is tugging at your heart, you would be wise to repent and cry out for forgiveness lest you perish in your sins.
Books
I reached out to Steven Stang, the publisher at Charisma House, with my first book, The Journey, a book I’m turning into a movie, by the way. The man turned it down even though one would inevitably spur the sales of the other. The man is indeed strange. His own book, Trump Aftershock, was endorsed by people like Jim Bakker and Jerry Falwell Jr. (a hypocrite if there ever was one.) I’m surprised he didn’t have Benny Hinn’s and Paula White’s endorsement as well – better yet, Rodney Howard Brown of “laughing ministry” fame.
Everyone knows that writers always uphold each other in hopes of monetary gain in selling their books. And furthermore, they probably never even read the book itself but expect to be repaid by the author’s endorsement when their own book is ready for publication.
Just because a man is good with words doesn’t mean they are on track to heaven.
Jordan Peterson and Dennis Prager have their own failings in that they often deal with scripture from another man’s point of view and not with what the Holy Spirit has to say about a matter. Since scripture is given by God and must be spiritually discerned, lacking in that quality, they must rely on manmade understanding, which is almost always faulty.
Sour grapes, you say? But it is obvious that some of these so-called “pastors” are nothing but charlatans and must be called out – especially in the end times in which we live. Now is no time to be playing with other men’s souls for fame and money. To these I say, Repent before you find yourself answering to Almighty God for your earthly shenanigans. For we must all stand before God and give account for our earthly lives, and there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth at that time by many.
There will be no laughing at the judgment seat of God – only at the bema seat of Christ when we are told to enter into our eternal rest and receive our just rewards. Even so, there will be some who enter eternity with knees knocking and teeth chattering, knowing that they have been slackers and /or opportunists in this life.
Finally, “love thy neighbor as thyself” – do him no harm; don’t be like the aforementioned people who only live to deceive and exploit the slothful foolish. Care for the widows and children. Do no harm to the brethren. In fact, uplift those who are struggling in life. Give to the poor.
Make sure you are on the right track by knowing what the Bible requires of you – repent, be baptized to show sincerity, receive Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, and ask God’s forgiveness for your sins. Dig deeply and get to know the real you by doing so. “Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.” So do yourself a favor and prepare to meet your maker in these – the last of the last days.
