How Beautiful are Your Hands and Feet? :: By Candy Austin

Isaiah 52:7 “How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth!”

Psalms 90:17 “And let the beauty of the LORD our God be upon us: and establish thou the work of our hands upon us; yea, the work of our hands establish thou it.”

Just recently we watched the movie “Sound of Freedom,” and I couldn’t help but think how beautiful the hands and feet were, especially to the child victims and anguished parents of the men and women who made it their mission and sacrifice to help these poor souls become freed from the hands, feet, and members of their evil handlers and wicked customers! The Bible has a lot to say about our hands and feet in relation to serving, blessing, worshipping, and praising God, as well as in our service, work, and aid toward others.

A Deeper Definition of Beautiful: of a very high standard; excellent.

It has been said that “Beauty is in the eye of the beholder,” which means that what may be beautiful to one person may not be so to another. The kind of beauty I’m talking about here is not the superficial kind or as it has been said, ‘Beauty is only skin deep,’ for we know that outer beauty tends to fade over time, but inner beauty lasts way longer, and in some ways can last forever.

Therefore, the kind of beauty I’m talking about here today is the ‘spiritual kind’ that only looks to bless and refresh others. Not too long ago, I saw a young homeless woman holding a sign on the corner of a busy intersection, and once again I watched as car after car drove right past her as she stood there looking so weary, exhausted, and defeated. I didn’t have much time with the flow of traffic moving once the light turned green; nonetheless, I quickly grabbed one of the ‘homeless salvation bags’ that we make from the back seat.

In my previous articles, I have talked about these 1-gallon bags that we put together and keep in the back seat of our car, which consists of a small water bottle, 2 Slim Jim’s, a pack of cookies, a pack of sandwich crackers, a Gospel tract or two, and a dollar in change. It may not be much, but hey, it’s better than being the one who has to endure car after car of nothing. By the time it’s all said and done, it equals out to be about $2.00 a bag, which ends up helping about 23 people. And once we get low, we go back to the DG and buy the items and make another 20 or so bags up again as a type of ministry in service to the Lord.

As my car quickly got close enough to her, I said, “Here you go,” while readily holding the bag of snacks out the window. And as she swiftly walked over and grabbed the bag, she looked at me and gently said, “God bless you, ma’am.” I could tell from her worn-out demeanor that she meant every word, and I was just grateful that I was able to help her that day, even in some small way.

Proverbs 11:25 “A generous soul will prosper, and he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed.”

Spiritually speaking, how beautiful are your hands and feet? Do you make it a point to bless and refresh others? How about using your members to help spread and share the Gospel? How about using them to help or serve someone who is sick or in need? Or just simply use them to pat someone on the back, or give them a kind word, or even a friendly smile radiating from your face to help brighten their day?

In contrast, how ugly are the hands and feet of those who spiritually help to lead people away from God by influencing them to turn after the lies of Satan (Do as thou wilt) and to the ‘god of self,’ which is to turn after their own way! Just like in the movie “Sound of Freedom,” the woman groomer who posed as a talent recruiter promised the children that ‘their wildest dreams and heart’s desire’ would happen for them. Instead, she just deceptively led them not only away from their devastated parents but much farther away from home than they ever thought they would go! Basically, this evil person only helped to lead these poor young souls far into the deepest recesses of ‘Hell here on Earth’ physically, sexually, mentally, and spiritually speaking!

During the movie, we see how the children end up forgetting their names and identities, which is usually how the devil operates, too. For he only comes to steal, kill, and destroy, oftentimes by making people forget who they really are in Christ, so to lose their identity in Jesus is always a part of his process! In the movie, it took Tim Ballard a few times to say the girl’s first and last name repeatedly before she even turned around to look at him and realize that he was even talking to her! The enemy of our souls, who is Satan btw, does not want us to realize, know, or even remember our true identity and purpose in this life, which is to wholeheartedly worship, honor, and glorify Almighty Abba Father God and the Lord Jesus Christ (YHWH)!

Luke 10:27 “And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.”

If someone says that they love you but only helps to lead and point you away from Jesus Christ (Who is the Way, the Truth, and the Life) and only helps to aid and abet you down the wrong path of life – which is ultimately into the dark rabbit hole of sin, evil, selfishness, and serving Satan – then they DO NOT really love you! Let me repeat that… they DO NOT really love or care about you! Wake up! Not only do they not really love or care about you, but they also don’t actually even love or care about themselves! To truly love and care about someone is to want their highest good in this life and in the one to come, which is a real relationship with Jesus Christ, the Lord and Savior, which will lead to the blessed salvation of their souls!

To aid, abet, validate, tolerate, and enable someone to live in sin and to live a lifestyle that is blatantly contrary to God’s Word and Will is actually the MOST UNLOVING thing one can do for someone else! To lead someone away from the only real source of TRUE LOVE from the Only One Who bled and died for them is just plain cruel at best and utterly despicable and evil at worst!

Once again, how beautiful are your hands and feet? How beautiful is the Gospel Message to you? Is the salvation of your soul important enough for you? Is the salvation of the souls of those you love precious enough to you? Do you care whether someone goes to Heaven or Hell when they die, even if they are your enemy? Do you put out Gospel Tracts in hopes of reaching someone with the saving message of truth that only Jesus can provide? What are your hands and feet doing for the Lord YHWH today?

Matthew 28:19-20 (BSB) “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey all that I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

As for me and my house, we will serve YHWH! It is my hope and prayer that this message brought to you by my hands and feet is a blessing in some way today. May Jesus Christ be real to the lost, may YHWH bless and comfort you in serving Him, may Abba Father God give you all grace and peace, and may those you love and care about choose the Only Way, Truth, and Life (Jesus Christ, YHWH, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, Yeshua Hamachiach) today!
