Something Is Happening! :: By Dave Hubley

(There is a special message at the end of this article for those who might happen to read this and do not have Jesus in their life and are looking for peace and a way to better understand the present-day insanity and confusion.)

“Something is happening” is a phrase that is starting to appear as a part of articles, news stories, etc.

This proclamation seems to be implying that liberal news outlets, be they news(?)papers, magazines, TV talk shows, or radio talk shows (generally of the liberal persuasion), are beginning to report events factually.

We have become programmed to expect these liberal bastions of propaganda to spin, twist, engage in the practice of intentional omission of facts and/or details, or outright lie about current events.

Have they really started to report truthfully?

The “noticing” of a positive change in reporting ethics is of no value unless followed up to verify if there is any real pattern of truth developing.

My gut inclination would be to suggest Caveat Emptor – Let the Buyer Beware!

It is possible that this apparent improvement in ethical conduct may be driven more by economic realities than an awakening of ethical behavior. We can only hope.

A significant number of Americans have blindly accepted so-called “news” reporting as truthful or factual without verifying its veracity for a very long time now.

The most obvious example of this is the reporting on the Vietnam War. Vietnam Vets were endlessly and undeservedly portrayed as bloodthirsty baby killers and psychotic drooling monsters. So, in many cases, we were treated as such when we came “home.”

This current “something is happening” (or any one of a number of similes) is, in my view, similar to a person noticing a carpenter ant or two in their home but is mentally preoccupied or just plain busy, and so does nothing but notice.

It is in this light that people in this country have been deceived as to the true nature of things in terms of both human and government conduct and so fail to heed the God of creation when He warns and pleads with them to wake up.

Over time, carpenter ants destroy foundations. Ignoring them can and does result in irrevocable damage. Once you find them inside the house in their winged form, the colony has grown and is expanding rapidly and may even have expanded into multiple colonies in the same building.

Once this point has been reached, drastic measures need to be taken to end the destruction, but by then, the damage may be so severe that the weakened structure can no longer be salvaged.

So, what is the point of this “carpenter ant” analogy?

I believe that the idea that evil and sin (the carpenter ants) can be ignored or brushed aside without consequence is contrary to the clear warnings in the laws, precepts, and statutes that the Lord God has established. His warnings of the consequences of doing these things have always been a Biblical reality.

Today, the winged version of carpenter ants has spread everywhere in America’s house, and the smaller “worker ants” have been busily depositing the eggs of evil and destruction into the ever-growing rot in the country’s infrastructure.

The framework that was once based on the Rock of the Word of God is now drowning in a swamp of festering evil. This can be clearly seen and felt.

The “mainstream media” has been “brushing aside,” ignoring, and obfuscating with great diligence for so long now that the inevitable consequences have reared their ugly head.

Those who deceive, lie, and twist the truth do so intentionally. “Spin” is the contemporary word, but it really means “intentionally deceive.” It has become ops normal.

As Ronald Reagan famously said, “Trust, but verify,” but no one has been verifying.

America has been rebuked and warned continuously by God, especially since 911, but is only now beginning to take His warnings seriously.

It is likely to be a case of sleeping too late.

“He who is often rebuked, and hardens his neck, Will suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy” (Proverbs 29:1).

The “he” in the above verse does not only apply to an individual, but it can also be applied to nations, as God has made clear in His Word and actions throughout human history.

So, what has America’s degeneration become over the years?

I won’t make a detailed analysis, but I will provide a condensed and nowhere near complete list of what is an abomination to God for us to soberly consider.

America has become a world leader in: Abortion (the shedding of innocent blood), Pornography, Government promotion of homosexuality and transgender ideology, Drug trafficking and consumption, Child trafficking, and Child sex abuse.

America has openly projected an image of Kali, a vile Hindu goddess of death, on the Empire State Building, openly mocking the Sovereign and Only God.

Could it be fairly said that a nation whose motto is “In God We Trust” and then does these things openly is mocking the very (and only) God that they claim to trust?

What does God have to say about this in His Word:

“Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap” (Galatians 6:7).

There are many who are burdened with great wealth, power, position in human government, success in business, and other millstones that drag them away from the Truth of God’s Word. For them, it is easy to ignore the warnings of (Galatians 6:7) even though, when they take all the credit for their “success,” they inadvertently mock Him.

“Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; Who put darkness for light, and light for darkness; Who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!” (Isaiah 5:20).

There are those who, out of arrogance and self-deception, challenge God to bring about His prophetic Word “so they may see it,” having no idea that, when He does execute His plan, by His own Authority and Righteousness, they will actually fulfill a prophecy that they unknowingly mock. They will “see it,” and they will be terrified.

“Woe to those who drag iniquity with the cords of falsehood, And sin as if with cart ropes; Who say, ‘Let Him make speed, let Him hasten His work, that we may see it; And let the purpose of the Holy One of Israel draw near, And come to pass, that we may know it!'” (Isaiah 5:18-19). Emphasis added by me.

There is a terrifying end for those who continue to mock and ignore God.

“And the kings of the earth, the great men, the rich men, the commanders, the mighty men, every slave and every free man, hid themselves in the caves and in the rocks of the mountains, and said to the mountains and rocks, ‘Fall on us and hide us from the face of Him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb! For the great day of His wrath has come, and who is able to stand?'” (Revelation 6:15-17).

Mankind’s arrogance and self-aggrandizement blind them to the Truth of God’s Word, and if this sin is allowed to congeal, it may well prevent any chance of repentance that can lead them to salvation. God’s Word rightly calls this a “hardening of the heart.”

They are actively fulfilling Bible prophecy without even realizing it.

“Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes and clever in their own sight!” (Isaiah 5:21).

There is a great deal of “money” in the world at present. I say “money” because it is fiat wealth. In most cases, it is only ink on an accountant’s ledger or on a computer spreadsheet. There is an entire genre of books written that are classified as “fantasy” because they are created within the author’s imagination and not based on reality.

Much of today’s wealth is a similar fantasy of security that can evaporate in a moment.

“Do not wear yourself out to get rich; do not trust your own cleverness. Cast but a glance at riches, and they are gone, for they will surely sprout wings and fly off to the sky like an eagle” (Proverbs 23:4-5).

Much of what has really been happening has been designed to deceive and lull people into complacency and compliance: to “dumb down” the majority of “the masses.”

Is there truly “something happening” in the world of modern mainstream media?

Maybe, maybe not. Whatever it is, I believe it is too little too late for this sin-infested world, but while you are still in your living years, “something could happen” for you.

Something huge. Something grand. Something eternal.

Something to grant you the gift of peace in this current maelstrom.

“and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:7).

Open your eyes and observe this current world. Is there any trace or hope of peace to be obtained in it by human endeavors?

You can receive the Hope and Promise of Life in Jesus Christ.

I pray you will get a Bible, read (Revelation 3:20), and open the door to Him and Live.

The special message I promised you:

For anyone who may read this article and has not trusted in Jesus Christ and therefore has no hope or peace in your life.

You can have hope. You can have the peace that Jesus has promised to all who have made Him their Lord and Savior. The peace that passes understanding.

It requires that you come before God on His terms.

And, what are His terms according to His Word?

  • Genuine repentance (turning to God instead of continuing to reject or ignore Him).
  • Confession of sins (that you are a sinner and acknowledge that to God).
  • That you understand that the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23).
  • To acknowledge to God that you are unable to pay that debt.
  • Belief that Jesus Christ paid your death sentence for you on the cross.
  • To believe that Jesus is the Way, the only Way, that God has established by which humans may be saved from the consequences of their sin and rebellion.

God has made it absolutely clear that there is no one who comes before Him, under His terms, that will be refused.

  • No one: no race, no color, no country of origin, regardless of any previous belief system: no one.
  • No matter what your past sins have been, God can and WILL forgive you because He says He will.
  • Salvation is available to everyone without any exceptions.

If you put all your trust for salvation in Jesus, and Him only, you can follow that prayer up by simply saying, “Thank you, Father God, for hearing my prayer and saving me,” because we can trust Him to keep His Word. He always has. He always will.

“Truly, Truly, I say to you that he who hears My words and believes the One who sent Me has eternal life and will not be condemned. He has crossed from death to life” (John 5:24).

There are no answers and there is no hope in the world by governments, organizations, politics or politicians. There are only lies and deception. But you can have the Truth and the peace you seek.

The answers are in the Word of God—The Bible. If you ask God, with all your heart, He will hear you.

“And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart” (Jeremiah 29:13).
