Why Are We Still Here? Part II: Evil Rising :: By Dave Hubley

(There is a special message at the end of this article for those who might happen to read this and do not have Jesus in their life and are looking for peace and a way to better understand the present-day insanity and confusion.)

Back around July of last year, I wrote an article on this subject.

Considering the present circumstances, I think it might be a good idea to briefly revisit the purpose of that article.

Evil has been accelerating in both level and velocity even just since last summer.

It is institutionalized, it is malicious, and it is horrifying.

It has become so commonplace that many are saying (in a sort of reassuring mode):

  • “Oh well, that’s the way it is, right?”
  • “It will sort itself out like it always does, right?”

It may be the way it is at the present, but it will get much worse, and it will not “sort itself out.” Reality is not optional.

It will be sorted out and dealt with, however, and that is the crux of this revisited article.

The large majority of people are going along in a sort of fog, if you will. They are preoccupied with the activities of everyday life and pay little attention to what is occurring and is directly affecting them and their families.

They look straight ahead with mental blinders on, not wanting to acknowledge the realities in the world. They have no situational awareness.

Often, we don’t notice a wasp’s nest developing under the eaves of our homes until we have been stung.

And then we say as we apply medication, “How long has that been there?”

Similarly, evil has been increasing in much the same fashion, and now the awful stinging reality is that it can no longer be ignored or intentionally swept aside.

There is a growing awareness that things are very wrong, and I believe that God is using these monstrous levels of evil and demonic activity to wake people from their stupor and to make them aware of His warning in Isaiah and their need for Jesus.

“Put no more trust in man, who has only the breath in his nostrils. Of what account is he?” (Isaiah 2:22).

Sort of a “last call,” if you will.

In the last 7 or 8 months, you seldom or never hear anyone say, “I sure will be glad when things get back to normal.”

“Normal” has now become a dimming memory of the “good old days.”

As I have mentioned in past articles, I believe that it is inarguable that all God’s plans and methods, His established laws and precepts, His entire structure of time and dispensations are for building His forever family for the time when He will execute the final phase or dispensation of His eternal purpose:

“And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, ‘Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God” (Revelation 21:3).

This is all for His Glory, Honor and Sovereignty, and a testimony to His Love for us.

The evil that we see around us is staggering, and we often wonder:

  • “Why are we still here.”
  • “This can’t go on like this much longer!”

From our perspective as Christians who know the Lord and especially those of us who are familiar with Bible prophecy, the “signs of the times” are very clear.

So, we respectfully wonder when the Lord will call us Home.

God has His purposes in how long and at what level He will permit iniquity to continue. In speaking to Moses about the future, He reassured him that He had the future under His authority.

“But in the fourth generation they shall return here, for the iniquity of the Amorites is not yet complete(Genesis 15:16). Emphasis added by me.

It is expected of us to trust Him and to carry out our responsibilities to be a witness to the unsaved until He does, in fact, call us Home on the day of the Pre-Tribulation Rapture.

“Remember the former things long past, For I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is no one like Me, Declaring the end from the beginning, And from ancient times things which have not been done, Saying, ‘My purpose will be established, And I will accomplish all My good pleasure'” (Isaiah 46:9-10).

I often include these two verses in my articles for two reasons:

  1. It is one of my most loved verses that I draw the most encouragement from when the future seems so dark.
  2. It explains God’s Sovereignty over the entire creation and every single aspect of His Glory and Honor. God keeps his promises.

So, why are we still here?

I believe that the Lord will call us Home immediately after the very last person prays for Salvation in the Name of the Lord and receives Him as their one and only Savior.

(Please see the special message at the end of this article.)

Once that happens, I believe there will no longer be any reason for God to permit this evil to continue.

I believe that is when He will call the True Church Home and end the Age of Grace. Then He will shift His attention back to the redemption of His people Israel and the punishment of the Christ-rejecting world.

I emphasize the above “I believes” because it is what I see as consistent with rightly dividing the Word of God as well as with the Nature of God.

You are welcome to have a different view as you may see it.

In the meantime, I pray for the strength to wait upon Him and look forward to the day when He Tells His Son, our Savior, to call us Home.

Until then, I urge us all to pray without ceasing for the unsaved, no matter who they may be (for we don’t know the hearts of men), and be a witness by the written word, vocally or just in the way you shine your light in the world by the way you live.

We all have a task to perform and a most Awesome God to perform it for.

The special message I promised you:

For anyone who may read this article and has not trusted in Jesus Christ and therefore has no hope or peace in your life:

You can have hope. You can have the peace that Jesus has promised to all who have made Him their Lord and Savior. The peace that passes understanding.

It requires that you come before God on His terms.

And, what are His terms according to His Word?

  • Genuine repentance (turning to God instead of continuing to reject or ignore Him).
  • Confession of sins (that you are a sinner and acknowledge that to God).
  • That you understand that the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23).
  • To acknowledge to God that you are unable to pay that debt.
  • Belief that Jesus Christ paid your death sentence for you on the cross.
  • To believe that Jesus is the Way, the only Way, that God has established by which humans may be saved from the consequences of their sin and rebellion.

God has made it absolutely clear that there is no one who comes before Him, under His terms, that will be refused.

  • No one: no race, no color, no country of origin, regardless of any previous belief system: no one.
  • No matter what your past sins have been, God can and WILL forgive you because He says He will.
  • Salvation is available to everyone without any exceptions.

If you put all your trust for salvation in Jesus, and Him only, you can follow that prayer up by simply saying, “Thank you, Father God, for hearing my prayer and saving me,” because we can trust Him to keep His Word. He always has. He always will.

“Truly, Truly, I say to you that he who hears My words and believes the One who sent Me has eternal life and will not be condemned. He has crossed from death to life” (John 5:24).

There are no answers and there is no hope in the world by governments, organizations, politics or politicians. There are only lies and deception. But you can have the Truth and the peace you seek.

The answers are in the Word of God—The Bible. If you ask God, with all your heart, He will hear you.

“And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart” (Jeremiah 29:13).
