For My American Christian Friends :: By Ron Ferguson

I want to talk to my American Christian friends. Please don’t think this presumptuous of me, as I am not a resident of an American State.

The recent election (2022) may not have been the result you were expecting, or the projected media results tilting towards the Republicans gaining both Houses with great gains. It was not a red wave as predicted by some.

The reason I am talking to you is that I share your disappointment as a fellow Christian, and we were hoping for a better outcome, but this election is a reality check. It is reality for the American people, not for Christians. Whenever a Christian rejoices, the world hates the cause of that rejoicing. Whenever the world rejoices, the Christian will be sorrowful. That is the way sin operates and the way this election has panned out.

I can write to you with some authority as we have been down that track; Australia has passed over the cliff and is in freefall now. You will go the same way. There are reasons for saying that.

[1.] These are the last days of the Church age, and they are the days the Lord speaks of when He says, 2Timothy 3:13 “Evil men and impostors will proceed from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived.” They are also the days when He said difficult/perilous times will come. I have seen enough here in my nation that is now so godless that, metaphorically speaking, we should start building an ark. The judgment is coming.

To the logical mind, the corruption of government and the radical and absolutely insane policies of the Democrats should be apparent to all, and yet things on the other side of the election will get worse because not much will change politically. Why can logic and common sense be defied?

[2.] I want to take a verse from Noah’s time – Genesis 6:11 “Now the earth was corrupt in the sight of God, and the earth was filled with violence.” God is not unaware of what happens on earth, and without the gospel of redemption, things never get better; they get worse. Maybe the earth is not filled with the violence as bad as in Noah’s time, but it is not far off.

There is one other verse – Genesis 6:5 “Then the LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great on the earth and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.” We have not reached that same point, and when the Olivet Discourse mentions, “As it was in the days of Noah, so shall it be in the days of the coming of the Son of Man,” it is speaking about the time near the end of the Tribulation. It is, therefore, no surprise that we are seeing this now starting to take place in our age. Evil is growing and multiplying at a great pace.

[3.] One of the greatest factors that influenced the outcome of the election was abortion. Women are demanding that right, the “control over their own bodies,” and they are doing it as militants. I do not want to take the abortion issue up in this, but that extreme selfish “women’s rights” supersedes the right of a defenseless and murdered child. As abortion is so evil, so is the hardening attitudes of women who support abortion and their hatred of Christians. The News reports were suggesting Kari Lake would win the Governorship of her State, but she did not because of the insane hatred of murdering abortionists. Kari is a Christian, and for that reason, she is rejected.

“You will be hated by all men for My Name’s sake.” We can expect no less, and even worse, as time progresses until the coming of the Lord. I listened to what Biden was espousing, and it was godless humanism – and destruction – on steroids. The man is corrupt (I hope I can say that). However, he is no worse than any other Democrat AND many of the Republicans.

When God has been removed from our schools, from society, and our behavior, it is replaced by the hand of Satan in this world, for that is how it works. Satan immediately fills up any vacuum.

They have ears but do not hear. They have eyes but do not see. They have no understanding. Jeremiah wrote of the people of his time – Jeremiah 5:30-31 “An appalling and horrible thing has happened in the land: The prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests rule on their own authority, and My people love it so, but what will you do at the end of it?” “My people love it so.” The general people in the world are not “God’s people,” as that reference is to Judah, BUT sin is the same deception and evil now as it was in Jeremiah’s time. My people love it so.

Verse 31 says lies were abounding, and those in authority (the priests) rule on their own authority; that is, they will pursue their own agendas in disregard for the will or the best interests of the people. However, you’d expect the common people to object, but they don’t! They love it that way, and why is that?

The reason is lawlessness. That is the plain and simple reason. The people of the world today are lawless; most government officials are lawless. The more lawless a ruler is, the more popular it seems he or she is. People hate goodness and rule and decency. That is why they are in rebellion against God. Lawlessness pervades society. I am not sure if I included a recent post that covers lawlessness.

Why is lawlessness on the increase today more quickly than in recent recorded history? What would the founding fathers of the USA think of today’s world? I am sure we all know that answer.

The reason why lawlessness is on the increase is a “mystery” as in this verse – 2Thessalonians 2:7 “For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work. Only he who now restrains will do so until he is taken out of the way.” You see, if I can put it rather crudely, lawlessness today is the anti-John the Baptist for the man of lawlessness who is coming – 2Thessalonians 2:3 “Let no one in any way deceive you, for it will not come unless the apostasy comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction.” We will see more and more violence, lawless behavior and decisions, more incompetence, and more illogical moves by those in government.

[4.] There is one more aspect that describes the current western world. It is delusion. When people are deluded, they act according to a set program. When a great delusion descends on the people (from below, not from above), then they act not according to reason but because they are fooled and blinded. They think they do the correct thing 100%, but in fact, they are 180 degrees from the correct path.

Jeremiah wrote about the futility of idol worship in chapter 10, but I have chosen only two verses –

Jeremiah 10:3 “The customs of the peoples are delusion because it is wood cut from the forest, the work of the hands of a craftsman with a cutting tool.”

Jeremiah 10:8 “But they are altogether stupid and foolish in their discipline of delusion – their idol is wood.”

So strong was the delusion among these people that they could fashion/carve wood, paint and decorate it, and actually believe it had life and could control their lives for the better. We may think that is stupid, but modern man is no better. He adopts lies and dogma as being truth and abides by them. Climate change is a great delusion, a hoax, and the current UN conference on climate change is revealing its objective, which is taking trillions of dollars from the developed world to give to so-called third-world nations, many of them run by dictators.

Are we seeing more delusion now than in the past? I can’t say definitively, but it is certainly stronger now than at any time in my lifetime. 2Thessalonians 2:11 “And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie” (KJV). “For this reason God will send upon them a deluding influence so that they might believe what is false” (NASB).

From Why is God going to send a strong delusion in the end times?

“The Bible makes it clear why God is sending a strong delusion in the end times: “They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. For this reason God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie and so that all will be condemned who have not believed the truth but have delighted in wickedness” (2 Thessalonians 2:10-12). Simply put, God sends a strong delusion to those who choose not to believe the gospel of Christ. Those who take delight in mocking and rejecting Him, He will condemn.”

It would seem to me that the focus of this strong deluding influence will be in the Tribulation, looking at the passage in context. Nevertheless, in these closing days of the Church age, we are definitely seeing a delusion; in fact, a few of them. The people have shut their ears, so God is allowing them to follow their darkened eyes into believing what is false.

[5.] I heard a number of Democrats speak in the campaign, and I was horrified at what they were saying. These were militant people for wickedness. They were seething with it, and they are now in the Senate or Congress. This is where the USA is going. Australia is well along that road, and the USA will catch up quickly. Our nations are being controlled by vile people with agendas straight from hell, and the rank and file of people are so deluded that they follow them, lapping up every word. All this wickedness is like a dam where iniquity is being stored up, but so very soon, the dam will burst. AND with the removal of the Church and the Holy Spirit, the wickedness will flood out and engulf the world. Then we will be like Noah’s time, and the wrath of God must fall.

Dear fellow believers, we are all saddened when we see a continuation and expansion of evil in our nations. It is going to get worse. Do not believe the lies from some false teachers about things getting better. They won’t.

Remember that Paul said in 2Timothy 3:12-13, “Indeed, all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will be persecuted. Evil men and impostors will proceed from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived.” That is not a nice thing to read, but it is in the context of the last days that Paul introduces in 2Timothy 3:1. We could be looking forward to continued and increased persecution and vileness, worse each year before the Lord comes.

How can we answer all this? I think it is paramount that we keep as close as possible to the Lord. No other refuge do we have but Jesus our Redeemer. We must keep in the word of God. I think we need to strengthen our links of fellowship with true believers.

Does that mean we will always be filled with joy? No, it does not. There is such oppression now that I feel it pressing in on me. I think we all do if we are following the Lord. I hate what is happening as you do, and it upsets us, but the Lord will never fail us. He helps us cope.

Remember, our citizenship is in heaven; our treasures are in heaven; our hope and aspiration is in heaven.

“I am with you even till the end of the age.” “He will never leave nor forsake us.” “I will not leave you as orphans.”

Thank you, Lord, for all You have done.

On the last day of electioneering, I heard Biden say he was going to close down all the coal power stations and stop all the drilling for oil. We have been there and done that. Now power prices here are going to rise by 50% next year. One big food processor in Australia announced last night that it cannot continue because this year its electricity bill went from 3 million dollars to 9 million dollars. This is nothing more than lunacy, men devoid of any common sense. It is the rejection of God that has generated man’s stupidity. It is even worse than I can say because Australia has 400 years of coal and one of the world’s biggest supplies of uranium and gas, but our governments have demonized those. It wants tens or hundreds of thousands of windmills, and even more of them, the most expensive way to generate electricity!

Take heart. You will not be responsible for the evil rushing into the world. Those like the Democrats and the Australian Labor Party (and indeed, many other politicians also) will be accountable for their own wickedness.

Christians, look up. Take comfort in your Lord. Cherish your heavenly citizenship, and strengthen your fellow Christians. God bless you all.
