Never Say Die :: By Edwin Tan

“I know your works. See, I have set before you an open door, and no one can shut it, for you have little strength, have kept My word and have not denied My name” (Revelation 3:8).

I never give the posts in the Nearing Midnight column a miss; it never bores me, but it certainly is the impetus for a positive start to the week. What our dear brother Todd wrote in the most recent post truly gave me an insight into where the comings and goings of Rapture Ready mattered. About everything I read mirrored the Church of Philadelphia; that was indeed astounding!

This beloved website is, without a doubt, a puny row boat in a hostile ocean of disbelief and apostate teachings. Any wave of disapproval from this cruel sea could have placed her on the out-of-commission list. But she more than soldiered on in these testing times, being relevant to the prophetic developments occurring at warp speed. The Lord was truly faithful, keeping things going despite the insurmountable odds, which are a 24/7 reality!

I can picture the personnel line up to be as good as bare bones, yet amazingly there is a lot of spiritually wholesome material which comes out from their labors. Stuff that is hard to find in these moments of rampant half-truths is made available to about every country in the world. Fresh postings without fail; enough to satiate the hunger of the many that are walking in the Word across the continents — with this, their faith in the Lord never burns out!

In spite of inherent limitations and obstacles which momentarily pop up, the Lord lovingly acknowledges these weaknesses — He gives them the much-needed shot in the arm when it is required!

One thing that did more than scratch my mind was about the difficulty in getting fresh ideas — sounds more like writer’s block! Bear this in mind; everything that has to do with the Lord is never stale because His Word is a Living Word. Distractions of an unwarranted sort are the usual impediments to the working of the Holy Spirit.

With this in mind, there is a need for more moments spent in quiet prayer and meditation — focus on the Lord and not on the substance of the fallen planet. This has become the standard practice for me; once the Holy Spirit has an uninhibited run in your thinking process, there is no need to claw your head because you will be given a clear and concise train of thought according to His will. Many times, the Lord did throw something at me while in the midst of a cuppa [cup of tea or coffee), if not a leisurely saunter!

Ideas certainly unfold through material that crosses our paths. I found this to be the case when following presentations like Understanding the Times and Hope for our Times. The Lord does speak through these tools of inspiration. Read the right stuff; this is another way the Lord can open minds to gain further knowledge, wisdom, and understanding from above.

Most important of all, whatever is written must encourage and educate the reader base. This must be the driving force behind the keyboard. Let the anointing of the Holy Spirit put thoughts into words. Let not emotions and biases have any say in this, the Good Fight!

Not everyone is cut out for writing, but there is indeed a sizeable number that has the God-given talent and capability to do so. It does not matter which part of the planet you come from. You do not have to be from a big country; God uses and chooses people in a way the world does not understand. Case in point; I come from a tiny dot that is one degree North of the Equator, and this in no way disqualifies me from being an integral part of His mouthpiece. I could add that nobody in Singapore ever reads my regular articles — I’m glad to live with it and continue occupying until He beckons us to come up hither!

To all who are familiar names and also those who are not so familiar, you are keeping a lot of folks sane. The world is getting weirder at breakneck speed; your articles are indeed an infusion of genuine hope in a fast-perishing planet. Do not ever run out of steam and bury your head in the sand.

“And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. Therefore, as we have the opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith” (Galatians 6:9-10).
