Thousands of Robots Coming to Help with Our Loneliness
‘Sophia the robot’ makers to produce THOUSANDS of bots by end of 2021
With her lifelike face and unusual sense of humor, Sophia the robot is one of the most famous androids around the world.
Now, her makers have revealed ambitious plans to mass-produce thousands of humanoid bots by the end of the year.
Hanson Robotics, the firm behind Sophia, says that four models, including Sophia, will be mass-produced.
The firm hopes that its lifelike robots could provide company to those who are socially isolated amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
** Does this not make one wonder if the plans to produce thousands of humanoid bots to “help” with loneliness and healthcare was pre-planned BEFORE the plandemic?
LONELINESS AMID THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC
A study earlier this month warned that older people’s mental health has declined during the lockdowns, with a surge in anxiety and depression seen in over-50s – particularly in women.
In the study, researchers from the University of Exeter and King’s College London studied data from more than 3,000 people aged over 50.
They said loneliness emerged as a key factor linked to worsening symptoms of depression and anxiety.
And a decrease in physical activity since the start of the pandemic was also associated with worsening symptoms of depression and anxiety.
Women were also more likely to be struggling with their mental health, as are retired people.
“Sophia and Hanson robots are unique by being so human-like,” said David Hanson, founder and chief executive of Hanson Robotics.
“That can be so useful during these times where people are terribly lonely and socially isolated.”
Dr. Hanson believes robotic solutions to the pandemic are not limited to healthcare but could assist customers in industries such as retail and airlines too.
“The world of COVID-19 is going to need more and more automation to keep people safe,” he said.
**And to make sure that more and more “Real People” are out of jobs!
Mr. Hanson said he aims to sell ‘thousands’ of robots in 2021, both large and small, without providing a specific number.
Social robotics professor Johan Hoorn, whose research has included work with Sophia, said that although the technology is still in relative infancy, the pandemic could accelerate a relationship between humans and robots.
“I can infer the pandemic will actually help us get robots earlier in the market because people start to realize that there is no other way,” said Hoorn of Hong Kong Polytechnic University.
Hanson Robotics is launching a robot this year called Grace, developed for the healthcare sector.
**Way to go, Hanson Robotics! Use the name/term GRACE right from the Holy Bible.
Meanwhile, several other robotics firms are developing new technologies in the fight against Covid-19.
For example, SoftBank Robotics’ Pepper robot was deployed to detect people who weren’t wearing masks, while in China, robotics company CloudMinds helped set up a robot-run field hospital during the coronavirus outbreak in Wuhan.
** So they will create police Bots to crack down on those not wearing masks. NICE.
The use of robots was on the rise before the pandemic.
According to a report by the International Federation of Robotics, worldwide sales of professional-service robots had already jumped 32 percent to $11.2 billion between 2018 and 2019.
Dr. Hanson previously hit the headlines in 2018 after claiming humans will marry lifelike robots by 2045.
** Well, THAT really takes care of controlling the population!
In his paper, titled Entering The Age of Living Intelligent Systems and Android Society, he proposes robotic development will herald a new age for human society where androids will have the right to marry, vote in elections and own their own land. (Emphasis added)
Even though this will be seen as legal in the eyes of the law, Dr. Hanson expects that androids will still be treated as second-class citizens by humans for a period. (Emphasis added)
Dr. Hanson added: “Lawmakers and corporations in the near future will attempt legal and ethical suppression of machine emotional maturity so that people can feel safe. Meanwhile, artificial intelligence won’t hold still. As people’s demands for more generally intelligent machines push the complexity of AI forward, there will come a tipping point where robots will awaken and insist on their rights to exist, to live free.” Source
Now let me repeat that last sentence so that the reader can really take in what is being said:
“Meanwhile, artificial intelligence won’t hold still. As people’s demands for more generally intelligent machines push the complexity of AI forward, there will come a tipping point where robots will awaken and insist on their rights to exist, to live free.” (emphasis added)
Brethren, if that did not send cold chills down your spine, then I don’t know if you truly comprehend what is being said.
Many scientists in the world today have warned about the progression of AI bots and how dangerous this can be. Robots are communicating with one another, and they are writing their own Code!!
I’m quite sure that Bill Gates throws caution to the wind as far as the dangers spoken of above. His quest to Depopulate the planet is of paramount importance to him, and in his mind, would be worth a bloody war with the Androids.
COME, LORD JESUS!
