The Ever-Growing Apostasy :: By Jim Towers

The Ever-Growing Apostasy
“Why do the nations rage and the people plot a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord and His Anointed, saying ‘Let us break their bonds in pieces and cast their cords from us.’ He who sits in the heavens shall laugh; the Lord shall hold them in derision. Then He shall speak to them in His wrath and distress them in his deep displeasure

“…I will declare the decree; the Lord has said to Me, ‘You are My Son, today I have begotten You. Ask of me and I will give You the nations for Your inheritance and the ends of the earth for Your possession. You shall break them with a rod of iron; and dash them to pieces like a potter’s vessel’” (Psalm 2:1-9).

What a mess we’ve gotten ourselves into, what with the confusion of not even knowing what to believe anymore – even in many Christian churches. We are surrounded by apostasy, a great falling away from the faith. The church is under attack in its belief system by both good and bad adversaries.

We’ve been warned in Holy Scripture that apostasy would rule the day in the final days before the rapture. No one is exempt from the tentacles of this satanic influence. Even mainline denominations are crumbling under the weight of their sins and hypocrisy. Their leaders, while living a lavish lifestyle, seem to have no fear of Almighty God in doing as they please; they are “Whitewashed tombs – full of dead men’s bones” – their downfall being the love of money and sensual sin.

The Catholic church is rife with apostasy as the wolves have taken over the henhouse completely now. There was a time when the hierarchy’s sins weren’t so obvious, and their fake piety was kept pretty much under wraps. But even from the beginning, those who by reason of lack of knowledge (the word of God) were led astray.

“Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image” was one of the first commandments to be broken. Then there was the worship of the virgin Mary who supposedly appeared to them in various forms according to their race or nationality. That alone should have thrown up a red flag of danger. But indeed, people are like sheep following their leaders “the wolves” blindly to their doom. Until recently the Catholic church was considered the largest “Christian” organization in the world, but now the sheep are scattering in all directions, having lost their moorings and faith. Today there is even a “rainbow” rosary being promoted for gays and lesbians!

My Catholic neighbors are crying and wringing their hands about all that’s happening to their faith. Many are leaving that cult. After all, who in their right mind is going to follow pedophile priests and their enablers now that they are being exposed for the ravening wolves they are? With nowhere else to go, the Unitarian Universalist group is intent on leading these and many other discontents who avoid scripture and fall into false religions: namely Buddhism, Hinduism and such, and doing so to make themselves above the common folks. These pseudo intellectual gatherings (often led by women) and others like them are on the rise.

Humanity often tries to bring our Divine Creator God down to their level of understanding, and in so doing, deceive themselves and those who would listen to them; these wolves in sheep’s clothing claim to be His spokesmen, and now even women are getting into the game. Take for example Victoria Osteen, Joyce Meyer, and Paula White – who refers to herself as the president’s pastor, a clear unvalidated example of name dropping.

Such women try to emulate men and leave their first habitation as it were (like Lucifer did) and child bearing. Today they even have “A Woman’s Bible” – whatever that means. But some men who say they are called to be representatives of God are often just as culpable as the silly women Paul refers to in the New Testament in 2nd Timothy 3:1-7.

Anyone who knows scripture knows that man is given the responsibility of being God’s spokesmen. The Old Testament Prophets and New Testament Apostles were all men ordained by God to do this extraordinary task. Most would also agree that a man’s and woman’s temperament are decidedly different, for different reasons. Let’s face it; women are more emotional. They can even swoon at the sight of a singing idol. Men would never faint, at least not yet – but we’re getting there.

Women have the exalted status of being life and care givers, which is a great honor in serving God.

While all of this is happening, the Mormon church is trying to change their name so as to blend in with mainstream Christianity – hoping to deceive and corral the sheep that are scattering from other denominations. We can lump this silly and errant belief system with the Jehovah’s Witnesses along with other such manmade cults.

Why anyone would want to trifle with the God of the Bible is beyond me. Do they really think they can hoodwink the Creator of heaven and earth?

From here on in we are going to have to watch which Christian denomination to adhere to. There are many wolves out there to whom Jesus will one day say, “Depart from me; I never knew you.”

The Bible is the only written word we can rely on to give us truth and understanding about the things of God. Studying, reading and adhering to its truths are the only ways to stay on the right track.

I wish I had good news to report, but the only good news today is that Jesus died for the ungodly, and that by believing in Him we can have eternal life.
