Oh, How the Media Manipulates :: By Bill Wilson

There are a few headlines about fake news. But what about news that looks like news, but is designed to slant the reader’s opinion of an event? It is factual, but doesn’t tell the truth. It appears legitimate, but omits certain facts that provide a clear reason for the event. Such is the case with both the leftist media and the Democratic Party politicians involved in communicating a narrative about the riots in Charlottesville, Va., over the past weekend.

Stories abound, but they are not-so-subtly remiss in telling what actually happened. It takes a discerning eye and ear to see and hear what these people are doing to manipulate public opinion toward a radical, violent agenda.

ESPN reported:

As their hometown of Charlottesville, Virginia, reels from a weekend beset by violence stemming from a series of white supremacist rallies, NFL players Chris and Kyle Long said the community will emerge stronger…Neo-Nazis, skinheads, Ku Klux Klan members and other white supremacist groups staged a rally Friday to protest the city of Charlottesville’s plans to remove a Robert E. Lee statue from a park. On Saturday, a 20-year-old man drove his car through a crowd of counter-protesters, killing a woman and wounding at least 19 others. Hours later, two Virginia state troopers were killed when the helicopter they were flying in as part of a large-scale police effort at the rally crashed into a wooded area outside the city.

The story never mentioned that Antifa, an extremist so-called “anti-fascist” group comprised of anarchists and communists aiming to overthrow the U.S. government and Black Lives Matter were the groups that engaged with the “white supremacists” and ignited the violence. The story gives the impression that these white racists and bigots just came into Charlottesville and rioted.

No, the real story here is that at least three hate-filled and politically-motivated groups converged in Charlottesville and did what they do best—they got violent. The news media and the Democratic Party politicians want the public to think it was just white racists who did the damage. They support the left-wing militant Antifa and Black Lives Matter, the unmentioned agitators in the ESPN story.

There is no hate group that is more right than another. Hate groups are motivated by hate. They have no place in our society. But when a hate group aligns with the goals of certain political parties and the media’s political leanings, they get a free pass. This is wrong. This is creating an uncivil atmosphere in our country at a time when we need to be coming together and discussing ways to solve our problems, not inflaming issues to violence and then trying to claim the high ground.

Jesus said in John 8:31-32 “If you continue in my word, then you are my disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

Truth and discernment begins with Christ. In it is freedom. We must discern the truth in all things that we might remain free. The devil’s minions seek to enslave us all to their dark deeds.

Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!
