Body, Mind and Spirit, Which Is Which? – Part 2 :: by Don Twobears

The world has stated that we must use the Bible, as our source of definition, in our daily lives. And this is always according to whether or not we believe we have a Soul or Spirit, that continues on after we die here on earth and thus, into an afterlife. Now the question is, according to the world, which Bible is correct? Even at that, not every religious book is considered a Bible.

There is a book for the Buddhists, a Koran for the Muslims, which changes with each particular sect, and a book for almost every other religion. The problem again is, according to their religious books which God is really…the REAL GOD?

This deepens when we consider which religion and which God exists for the betterment of the entire world. I like the ones that state their beliefs are for the graduation to a higher plane of awareness, yet they never verify or vilify the plane of awareness to be obtained or to what end. Muslims believe there are 72 virgins waiting for them after they die and of course this means, their body stays here and their Spirit moves on.

My question would then be, of what use are 72 virgins, if you and the virgins have no body? And they consider us to be crazy! Is not virginity an aspect of a body, that of a female or male, whom have never had sexual intercourse? Did I just traverse into the Twilight Zone or what?

How does spinning a prayer wheel, a physical object, enhance the prayer? And is the prayer to God? I do not mean to come off as being flippant concerning the religion of others, but isn’t it suppose to be, one is physical and the other is spiritual? Or are we able to use both sides together, at the same time? According to the world, isn’t one a higher plane of existence, than the other?

I have a problem with the Koran, which stipulates that a Muslim is allowed to LIE to an infidel or that a Muslim is to kill all Infidels. Who is Allah and why does he have a son named Mohammad who is a sexual deviant and pedophile, leading almost 25 percent of the world’s people? Am I missing something here?

Why do many religions condone hatred and murder, when every nation on earth wants PEACE? How does this bode for their religion in comparison to the needs of all the people across the world? It does not.

“Religion” defined by Webster’s On-Line Dictionary

The outward act or form by which men indicate their recognition of the existence of a god or of gods having power over their destiny, to whom obedience, service, and honor are due; the feeling or expression of human love, fear, or awe of some superhuman and overruling power, whether by profession of belief, by observance of rites and ceremonies, or by the conduct of life; a system of faith and worship; a manifestation of piety; as, ethical religions; monotheistic religions; natural religion; revealed religion; the religion of the Jews; the religion of idol worshipers.

An orderly life so far as others are able to observe us is now and then produced by prudential motives or by dint of habit; but without seriousness there can be no religious principle at the bottom, no course of conduct from religious motives; in a word, there can be no religion. —Paley.

Religion [was] not, as too often now, used as equivalent for godliness; but . . . it expressed the outer form and embodiment which the inward spirit of a true or a false devotion assumed. —Trench.

Religions, by which are meant the modes of divine worship proper to different tribes, nations, or communities, and based on the belief held in common by the members of them severally…There is no living religion without something like a doctrine. On the other hand, a doctrine, however elaborate, does not constitute a religion.

So according to Webster, religion is the practice in the process of worship of one’s God.

Personally speaking, I am not part of any religion. I follow Jesus Christ with every fiber of my being. I believe that Jesus Christ is part of the Holy Trinity, that is God Almighty. And I will continue to follow Jesus Christ every day of my life. I believe the following:

Isaiah 45:5 “I am the Lord, and there is none else, there is no God beside me: I girded thee, though thou hast not known me: That they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none beside me. I am the Lord, and there is none else.”

Revelation 22:13 “I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.”

Genesis 1:26-27 “And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.”

Isaiah 43:7 “Even every one that is called by my name: for I have created him for my glory, I have formed him; yea, I have made him.”

There it is, the reason for our being created by God Almighty…for HIS glory! And this is according to the Holy Bible. How odd is it, that this Holy Bible, is so different from any other religious book? It stands alone as the oldest Book of its kind, better than 4500 years. It has not changed any in that period of time. It is the only book of its type that lays out all things about God and HIS relationship with man, since Adam and Eve.

In other words, it completely lays out the history of Man since the very first two people ever created. Most of all, it defines not whom is good and bad, it details whom is saved to eternal life and whom are not, according to the commandments of Almighty God. It is the only text in the world that defines everything according to God, from HIS own lips to our ears, there is no other book of its kind.

We find within its covers, that if we believe what it says, we could actually live a more grounded and full life. We will find that we can have peace here on earth for a period of time, but that after this time, heaven can be obtained for eternity. It is the only text of its kind that defines, HOW we should live and how we came about, how this life functions and what our end in eternity will be. The idea of having peace and tranquility and harmony, are attainable despite some trials and tribulations in our lives.

The one and only, the most singular aspect is that God sent Jesus Christ—HIS Son, to this planet, to die on a cruel Cross for the single reason of saving us. It defines for us, that God’s love is so great for us, that HE wants to create us to be Holy like HE is. To care and love us for all of eternity. No other book has ever laid this aspect out for us, in such detail and with such assurance.

The Bible is so exacting; it clearly divides the spirit from the body, that the real you or me is within our spirits and not in our bodies; that there is one aspect about humans that is like no other…our sins. Sin is the dividing factor that we must face in a straightforward manner, our own sins according to God’s perfect will in our lives. And the blood of Jesus Christ, from HIS Cross at Calvary, either covers our sins to salvation or it does not.
