God Did Not Ordain Persecution :: by Greg May

Once again, Obama has denigrated the name of Christianity.

During the National Prayer Breakfast, Obama stated “During the Crusades and Inquisition people committed terrible deeds in the name of Christ.”

This could not be further from the truth.

The acts of the Crusades and Inquisition had nothing to do with Christianity. They had nothing to do with the love of God and were not connected to our Lord and Savior. The acts of the Crusades and Inquisition were the result of religious tyranny committed by pious church leaders whose souls had been poisoned by the evil seed of anti-Semitism.

Just as the Pharisees and religious leaders of the day killed Jesus because they refused to accept Him as the Messiah, the religious leaders during the Crusades and Inquisition organized pogroms to persecute the Jews.

When the Jews were expelled from Spain, God’s hand of wrath has been on that country ever since. During the Inquisition the Jews were stripped of their wealth. The Edict of Expulsion forbade them from taking gold, silver and precious metals out of the country. It also meant homelessness for the Jewish people since they didn’t know which nations would receive them.

When Christopher Columbus discovered the “new world” – which eventually became America – God was creating a harbor of refuge for the Jewish people. The same month King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella issued the edict that all Jews were to be driven out of Spain, they gave Christopher Columbus the order to make an expedition to the West Indies.

It is interesting to note how Spain’s attempt to invade England in 1588 failed when Philip II send the Armada during the reign of Elizabeth I. A great wind blew up suddenly carrying the entire fleet of Spanish warships into the North Sea.

God had blessed the United States of America because we opened our arms to the Jewish people. John Hagee publicly stated, “I believe the day America turns its back on Israel and the Jewish people will be the exact day in history when God lifts His hand of blessing from America.”

“I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who curses you; and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed” (Genesis 12:3) .

During the National Prayer Breakfast Obama also stated, “In our home country, slavery and Jim Crow all too often were justified in the name of Christ.” While slave owners claimed to find justification for keeping slaves in the Bible – citing passages in both the Old and New Testaments – the abolitionist movement grew out of the Christian belief.

Although the architects of Jim Crow segregation sought absolution from various biblical passages, the civil rights movement could not have been successful without the Christian church. In fact, the Reverend Martin Luther King Jr. used Christian churches in both the North and South to establish the Southern Christian Leadership Conference.

When Obama took office he was hoping to be the first to establish a Reformation or Enlightenment for the Muslim world. The Reformation was sparked by one lowly monk, Martin Luther, and its ideas rose up through the masses to the religious leaders and rulers of the time (whose faith was based on the one true God).

Our relationship with the Middle East has always been fueled by the thirst for oil. The Middle East countries are ruled by autonomous leaders whose faith is based on Allah. The burning of the Jordanian pilot is simply another display of satanic hatred that exemplifies the beliefs and ideals of ISIS and other terrorist groups.

The God that we worship loved us enough to send His Only Son to earth to die as a living sacrifice so that we can live with Him for eternity. ISIS and other terrorist groups have only one agenda – hate and death. So now the president of the United States is trying to create a parallel between Christianity and Islamic persecution – it’s as if he is trying to justify the heinous acts committed by the Islamic terrorists.

In the meantime, Obama has formally asked Congress to authorize military action against the Islamic states, seeking to put lawmakers on record in support of a Middle East war that seems likely to intensify in coming months and last beyond the end of his term in office.

As the Antichrist waits in the wings to make his entrance onto the world’s stage, Obama is preparing that stage for the final curtain.
