New Year’s Resolutions :: by Geri Ungurean

Thinking back to the resolutions I’ve made for so many years, something hit me square between the eyes. I have never asked the Lord to help me!

Well, this year I am asking Jesus to help. I know that He will remind me when I’m slipping. I know that He will have me lean upon Him to have victory in these. I can depend on him at all times!

My List:

1. I want to show love to the most unlovable people in my life. That’s a tricky one, but I CAN do it with the help of my Lord.

“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”  (Proverbs 3:5-6)

2. I want to be SALT and LIGHT wherever I go.

“Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men. Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”   (Matthew 5:13-16) (emphasis mine)

3. I want to get a handle on my depression.

“The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him.” (Psalm 28:7)

“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” (2 Timothy 1:7)

4. I want to come before Him all the time — not just when things are bad.

“In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.”

(1 Thessalonians 5:18)

5. I want my Faith to be as it is described in His Word:

“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” (Hebrews 11:1)

So, those are my New Year’s resolutions. I’m excited to see how this year will be like no previous year. I want to grow in Him and be more and more like Yeshua!

NOTHING is impossible with God. Apart from Him, I can do nothing.

“Master, which is the great commandment in the law? Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.”

(Matthew 26:36-40)

Blessings b’Yeshua

Come Lord Jesus!
