Hard To Watch…Sobering, But Glorious to See :: By Dave Hubley

(There is a special message at the end of this article for those who might happen to read this and do not have Jesus in their life and are looking for peace and a way to better understand the present-day insanity and confusion.)

I have yet to meet a single fellow Christian who wants the judgments – that God has promised must take place – to happen out of some desire to see harm brought to those who have chosen (thus far?) to reject the One source of Salvation that He has established.

That Salvation that so many have thus far rejected being this: Repenting of our sins and receiving of His Son, Jesus Christ, as Lord and Savior: The One-and-Only Way to eternal life that God will accept. He has made this crystal clear in his Word.

I say again, I have never met a Christian sister or brother who feels that way about the impending judgments that God has clearly promised, the execution of which appears to be nearing rapidly.

In this article I have intentionally omitted copying and pasting the actual verses that I am referencing (with two exceptions: One taken from the Book of Second Peter and the other from the Book of Jeremiah 30:24) in the Word of God that we commonly refer to as the Bible.

The reason for that is that I am hoping and praying that anyone reading this who is one of those who has not faced up to the reality of the present time will be compelled to look them up (in a Bible or using Biblehub.com) and see for themselves the inerrant truth that they chronicle by the power of God, the only source that can foretell the future and the truth He has revealed.

Only God Almighty dares to, and actually does, reveal the future spiritual condition of humanity just prior to the long-promised return of Jesus to the world that mocks, vilifies, and rejects Him.

“Most importantly, you must understand that in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires. ‘Where is the promise of His coming?’ they will ask. ‘Ever since our fathers fell asleep, everything continues as it has from the beginning of creation.’

“But they deliberately overlook the fact that long ago, by God’s word, the heavens existed and the earth was formed out of water and by water, through which the world of that time perished in the flood. And by that same word, the present heavens and earth are reserved for fire, being kept for the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men.

“Beloved, do not let this one thing escape your notice: With the Lord, a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. “The Lord is not slow in keeping His promise as some understand slowness, but is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish but everyone to come to repentance” (2 Peter 3:3-9), Emphasis added. (See also 1 Timothy 2:3-4.)

Hard to Watch: (The verses quoted below are not all that God has to say. There are many cross-references that reiterate these truths throughout His Word.)

It’s very hard to watch the commonality of intentional and often strategic lying (2 Timothy 3:13), the wanton murder of the unborn (Proverbs 6:17), the deliberate disregard for the law (Matthew 24:12), and its obvious consequences in full view today in that “the love of many will grow cold.” That has become a stark reality.

This is plainly visible in the organized and intentional LA riots and the spreading chaos and division that are now being actively pursued and financed in other cities across the country. These realities are taking place worldwide, not just in what is left of America.

Active promotion and pursuit of wars, rumors of wars, and the evil worldwide promulgation of ethnic division/racism [nation rising against nation] (Mark 13:7-8).

The ongoing and purposeful deception that claims changes in climate are being caused solely by man. This cruel and frenetic tactic by many is done primarily for the purpose of fear-mongering and expansion of personal wealth, when, in fact, Jesus warned of these things (Luke 21:11) being a result of man’s willful rebellion. He now appears to be lifting His hand of stability and control from His creation (Colossians 1:16b-17).

The extreme level of the deliberate perversion of God’s created order and the celebration of it by people and even by governments (Romans 1:24-32).

The obvious and blatant ignoring of their responsibilities by elected officials, judges (even including some members of the Supreme Court) in this country, and some of the so-called law enforcement agencies to uphold the laws that protect our country and its citizens and then accepting no responsibility even to the point of displaying their arrogant attitude (Proverb 21:24), when they are not held accountable once their reckless behavior becomes exposed.

Decisions rendered by so many of the judiciary that are based on their political position or their “opinion” instead of on the laws they pledged to uphold (Judges 17:6, 21:25). Note: In America, the “king” is the Constitution that they hold in contempt.

The tidal wave of criminal activity, which only seems to result in endless investigations, accusations, and few, if any, arrests and trials, no matter what the mountain of evidence reveals to be true – a condition that can only result in national suicide.

The calling of clearly guilty perpetrators of criminal acts “alleged,” even after they are formally charged with the crime, convicted, and clearly confirmed by video evidence.

What appears to be the determined effort by the “mainstream” media to destroy any semblance of truth by intentionally twisting, gaslighting, and obfuscation.

So many of the prophecies related to the way of the world of men just prior to the return of Christ that we are constantly witness to that are best expressed in 2 Timothy 3:1-5, Romans 1:18-32, and 2 Peter 3:3-7 that are now sounding like an air-raid siren.

These are just a few of the many merciful warnings and admonishments (mocked and ignored by the world) contained in God’s Word where He makes the reasons clear why He must bring the rampant proliferation of sin and intentional rebellion to an end.

The inference by the unbelieving world that Christians somehow have any power to bring them about even if we did “want” these things to happen.

That “Doom and Gloom,” as it is called by the accusers, will indeed be the final outcome for those who refuse Jesus’ saving Grace. We know that is the outcome God has decreed and, therefore, will execute. We only take Him at His Word.

As God has made clear, and we desire as well, we do not want that sad and terrible outcome, but instead, eternal life for everyone. But they must be willing to repent!

Sobering but glorious to see:

So, what is sobering and yet glorious about the visible manifestation of God’s final judgments as depicted in the Book of Revelation Chapter 6:1 and to the end of Chapter 20:10?

Sobering: Is the sadness in the hearts of True Christians because we understand the reality of the execution of God’s final and permanent judgment of those who rejected the Saving Grace and Sacrifice of His Son that He requires (Revelation 20:11-15).

What so many don’t understand is that those of us who praise the visible evidence of God’s execution of prophecy is that we do so in the hope that the unbelieving world will see this manifestation of them and face up to the reality that God is exactly Who He says He is, and that He will bring about all that He has promised in the Scriptures. We pray that perhaps then, the Holy Spirit will be able to open their eyes, unstop their ears (Mark 4:23 and numerous other verses), and convict them of their need to repent and receive Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior: To cross over from death to life (John 5:24).

This is the entire reason He sent His Son to pay the price of sin that God cannot just excuse (Hebrews 9:22) for anyone who will repent and receive Him as Lord and as Savior.

Glorious: (the Mercy of Matthew 24:22)

What is “glorious” is the fulfillment of already completed prophecies about Jesus’ advent in the world and His purpose for doing so, the myriad evidence of God’s love in that He has warned of the consequences of sin that everyone without exception bears (Romans 3:23), His clearly stated promise to those who are willing and have ears to hear and eyes to see (Romans 6:23), are the iron-clad proof that every single Word of God that we have placed our trust in, are the only Hope there is (Isaiah 2:22).

In my opinion, the growing evidence is that Godless debauchery has mutated into a new form of insanity. It is fueling the momentum of evil that can no longer be stopped. God has given man over (Romans 1:28-31), as He indicated would be the eventual consequences of rejecting His Son. He has called the growing manifestation of evil what it is (Psalm 14:1, 53:1-3).

“The fierce anger of the LORD will not turn back until He has fully accomplished the purposes of His heart. In the days to come you will understand this” (Jeremiah 30:24), Emphasis added.

Now to the crux of this article / Will you understand this?

It is becoming clear: Man, without God’s intervention, would surely destroy himself.

If you are willing and you have not become hardened against God in your heart so that you are beyond remedy (Hebrews 4:7 and numerous others), you do not have to go down with the evil that has taken over this world.

You can make the choice to receive Jesus and live as God has made clear, but you must do so while still in your living years (Deuteronomy 30:19).

I pray that you will choose life (Deuteronomy 30:19).

The special message I promised you:

For anyone who may read this article and has not trusted in Jesus Christ and therefore has no hope or peace in your life.

You can have hope. You can have the peace that Jesus has promised to all who have made Him their Lord and Savior. The peace that passes understanding.

It requires that you come before God on His terms and that you do so in your living years.

And, what are His terms according to His Word?

  • Genuine repentance (turning to God instead of continuing to reject or ignore Him).
  • Confession of sins (that you are a sinner and acknowledge that to God).
  • That you understand that the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23).
  • To acknowledge to God that you are unable to pay that debt.
  • Belief that Jesus Christ paid your death sentence for you on the cross and rose from the grave three days later, conquering death, just as He promised.
  • To believe that Jesus is the Way, the only Way, that God has established by which humans may be saved from the consequences of their sin and rebellion.

God has made it absolutely clear that there is no one who comes before Him, under His terms, that will be refused.

  • No one: no race, no color, no country of origin, regardless of any previous belief system: no one.
  • No matter what your past sins have been, God can and WILL forgive you because He says He will.
  • Salvation is available to everyone without any exceptions.

If you put all your trust for salvation in Jesus, and Him only, you can follow that prayer up by simply saying, “Thank you, Father God, for hearing my prayer and saving me,” because we can trust Him to keep His Word. He always has. He always will.

“Truly, Truly, I say to you that he who hears My words and believes the One who sent Me has eternal life and will not be condemned. He has crossed from death to life” (John 5:24).

There are no answers and there is no hope in the world by governments, organizations, politics or politicians. There are only lies and deception. But you can have the Truth and the peace you seek.

The answers are in the Word of God—The Bible. If you ask God, with all your heart, He will hear you.

“And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart” (Jeremiah 29:13).

The New Birth :: By Brother Bill Oldham

Jesus said, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God…. Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God” (John 3:3-5).

“As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up; so that whoever believes will in Him have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life” (John 3:14-16).

In these two Scriptures, there are no commands given to the sinner man; just a simple statement of truth from the Word of God as to what is required for anyone to be saved and enter God’s kingdom: “You must be born again,” and that happens when you believe in Jesus Christ.

Since the days of Adam’s fall, the human race is born into this world spiritually dead; man is born with a sinful nature. God’s intent in making man was to make him in His image and likeness; that is, a oneness in relationship and fellowship with Him. This was God’s desire, plan, and purpose for making man. But, in his sinful state, there can be no oneness with his holy and righteous Maker.

Man, in his natural state, is spiritually dead. But God loved His creation, and so loved it that He was willing to pay the ultimate price to righteously and justly create a new man, a spiritual man, in His own image and likeness; to bring man into perfect oneness with Him, both in relationship and fellowship. And He fully and completely accomplished this through His Son, Jesus Christ: in His death, burial, and resurrection.

Man cannot make himself to be born again any more than he can make himself be born the first time. Man’s birth takes place when a husband and wife make a decision to have a child; the child has no say in it. And so it is with a sinner when they are born again:

“…As many as received Christ, to them God gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name, who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God” (John 1:12-13).

Into this reality comes two great truths: the sovereignty of God and man’s free will. Concerning God’s sovereignty in the new birth, we have this:

“All that the father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will certainly not cast out…. No one can come to me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up on the last day…. No one can come to Me unless it has been granted him from the Father” (John 6:37, 44, 65).

Concerning man’s free will, we have this:

“Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn of Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light” (Matthew 11:28-30).

The Lord Jesus abounds in riches for all who call on Him, “…for whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved” (Romans 10:13).

The Calvinists and the Armenians have argued for centuries over the doctrine of the eternal security of the believer. Their first grave error is labeling themselves as followers of a man: Calvin and Arminius. Paul condemned this kind of divisive thinking in the first chapter of 1 Corinthians. Their second grave error was to try to apply human understanding to God’s divine design. That is, only God Himself can reconcile two spiritual truths: His sovereignty and man’s free will.

When men determine to use their wisdom to establish doctrine, they write things that go way beyond what the Scriptures say. In drawing men to follow them, they must write volumes of books to try to explain their teachings. In order to follow them, men must abandon the Scriptures and study their books, which has been the way of false teaching and apostasy since the days following the apostles. The wonder of the new birth gets buried underneath the thinking of proud men.

The new birth brings forth a new creature in Christ; old things are passed away, all things become new. A born-again one realizes they have life, a life they never had before. Their thinking, attitudes, and desires change, some immediately and others little by little. The new birth is not an experience but a reality. However, when I was born again, I experienced a love, peace, and joy like I had never known.

I was born again on a Saturday night. On Sunday morning, I walked into a small Pentecostal church that numbered about 75-80 people. My wife was raised up in that church; I had been attending there for about 6 years, mainly just Sunday School. Three couples had made friends with us, and I liked them and the pastor, but I didn’t like anyone else: I thought they were weird and funny-looking.

As I stepped into the auditorium, I was taken by surprise: I just loved everybody—they all, without exception, looked different. My next surprise came on Monday morning. I walked into my workplace of 11 years, a new person. I had left my fellow workers Friday unsaved and had gotten into a cuss fight with one of the senior men just before leaving. Now, I entered in born again.

The first thing I wanted to do was tell my best friend I had accepted Jesus, knowing he would do it also. I found Denny and began to tell him what had happened. He was red-headed and white complexioned. Before I could finish, his face turned red, and he said: “All preachers are liars, and church folks are nothing but hypocrites!” And he turned abruptly and walked away. (Denny was born again 20 years later.)

Very disappointed with that, I went to the man I had fought with and apologized for what I had shouted at him on Friday. I then told him what had taken place in my life, and he was very gracious and forgiving. Then about 10:30 came Al to my workstation. He worked in a different department, but every Monday morning, he would make his way to me to either tell me a dirty joke or see if I had one.

On that morning, Al came up all smiles and said, “Bill, wait’ll you hear the latest.” Without even thinking, I said, “I don’t want to hear it.” He said, “Well, you’ve told me some a lot worse than this.” I told him I was sure I had, but I had accepted Jesus and wasn’t going to do it anymore. He got mad, stormed off, and never spoke to me again.

My next surprise came on Tuesday. I am ashamed to tell this one and always have been. I had worked in that plant for 11 years; I was a machinist. But I was probably the sorriest worker they had. They should have fired me several times. If the supervisor wasn’t looking or wasn’t there, I wasn’t working. My work was second-rate.

Sometime Tuesday, the Holy Spirit spoke to me, not audibly, but caught me by surprise, and told me I was stealing from the company by the way I was working. I immediately made the decision to turn it around, which I did. I became one of their best and most efficient workers and became a supervisor. There are more stories of the Lord working in my new life throughout the years, but I will suffice it to say, He’s still working on me.

Being born again is real, and the effects are real. Jesus put it this way:

“The wind blows wherever it wants. Just as you can hear the wind but can’t tell where it comes from or where it’s going, so you can’t explain how people are born of the Spirit” (John 3:8).

“As for me, may I never boast about anything except the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world… the only thing that matters is a new creature” (Galatians 6:14-15).

Jesus said it: “…You must be born again” (John 3:7).
