Will Iran Destroy Israel? :: By Josh Davis

“And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet” (Matthew 24:6).

A glance around the globe reveals an escalation in hostilities. Israel remains in Iran’s crosshairs. Syria’s violent unrest leaves it divided, as Turkey seems poised to mold Syria into its image.

Israel’s attempts to eradicate Hamas continue. The terrorists’ demonic depravity was revealed when they recently returned the bodies of hostage children brutally murdered by their hands.

The war between Ukraine and Russia seems like a simmering pot almost ready to boil over into World War III as European allies promise more weapons to Ukraine and as tensions rise among many nations.

Records indicate that more than 100 armed conflicts are currently occurring around the world. Forty-five are in the Middle East and Northern Africa alone.

Iran’s Nuclear Capabilities Rising

A confidential report was leaked to the press, revealing that Iran is ramping up its nuclear capabilities. The U.N.-run International Atomic Energy Agency told its member nations that Iran’s enrichment has skyrocketed over recent months, according to a Feb. 26 Reuters report.

It is estimated that Iran now has enough enriched uranium for six nuclear bombs. It has enriched uranium up to 60 percent purity and could easily enrich it to the 90 percent needed for atomic weapons.

With this accelerated pace of uranium enrichment, it is estimated that Iran could make one nuclear bomb every four to six weeks. In short order, Iran could have more than a dozen atomic bombs.

“The significantly increased production and accumulation of highly enriched uranium by Iran, the only non-nuclear weapon state to produce such nuclear material, is of serious concern,” the IAEA stated in its confidential report.

This statement is revealing because the world knows Iran’s intentions. Publicly, Iran claims it is only enriching uranium for its internal nuclear power grid. The world knows better.

President Trump has threatened to bomb Iran for its nuclear program. Iran has responded with threats against American troops stationed in the Middle East. Another simmering pot to keep a close eye on.

Israeli security forces seized large stockpiles of weapons in Judea and Samaria over the last month. For over a year, Iran has smuggled weapons into Samaria. Israel is on high alert, suspecting the weapons will be used to coordinate another Oct. 7 attack. Some experts suggest Israel was more concerned about a 2023 attack from Judea and Samaria than from Gaza.

Israel is investigating the explosion of three buses near Tel Aviv in late February. Thankfully, no one was injured in the explosion, but it seems likely that Iran provided the weapons used in this attack. A written note found with one of the bombs indicates that the attack arose from Judea and Samaria.

Israel’s Nuclear Extinction?

The question hangs in the air like thick smoke. Will Iran destroy Israel through its proxies and nuclear weapons?

Based on Bible prophecy, the answer is “No.” Zechariah 12-14 forms three of the most prophetically significant Old Testament chapters. Jerusalem is the epicenter of the Second Coming when Jesus fights the Armageddon Campaign. The surrounding nations will besiege Judah and Jerusalem (Zech. 12). But Jerusalem will prove to be a “cup of trembling” and a “burdensome stone” for the nations (Zech. 12:2-3). These metaphors speak to God’s divine judgment poured out upon His enemies at the Second Coming (Rev. 19). The nations try in vain to move a rock they cannot lift and to drink more than they can hold.

Zechariah 12:6-9 reveals that God will give the decisive victory to Jerusalem. While all the forces of evil converge to destroy Israel once and for all, God will prevail through His mighty hand.

After this Second Advent war is won, Israel will recognize her Messiah: “And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn” (Zech. 12:10).

In a parallel passage, Zechariah 14 reveals the King’s return. “Then shall the LORD go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle” (Zech. 14:3). The King will go out in battle against those nations and will fight on behalf of His people.

“And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south” (Zech. 14:4).

Jesus ascended from the Mount of Olives after His resurrection. He will descend to Earth at the exact same spot. A mighty earthquake will accompany His return, splitting the Mount of Olives. This earthquake will provide a new valley for the righteous remnant to escape to safety, accompanied by the Lord and His saints (Zech. 14:5).

Jesus wins. Jerusalem is not destroyed. A righteous remnant of Israel is preserved.

So, to reiterate the answer to the question, “Will Iran destroy Israel in a nuclear war?” Absolutely not! All the other nations will be dissolved while God preserves a righteous remnant of Israel.

Israel’s Friends and Foes

Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu considers President Trump the closest ally he’s ever had in the White House. The Trump administration has provided military supplies to Israel and has pledged ongoing support to eradicate terrorism in Israel.

Remember that Trump moved the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem during his first term. This bold move showed his level of support for Israel and the belief that Jerusalem is rightfully Israel’s capital city.

The U.N. plans a June 2-4 “Conference on Palestine.” This body has previously called for a return to the pre-1967 borders, which would split Jerusalem in two. This is very significant because it would give the Old City of Jerusalem and the Temple Mount to the Palestinians, making it highly unlikely that a third temple would be built. Once more, students of Bible prophecy understand the implications of these proposals.

Netanyahu said this solution would be suicidal for the Jewish people living in Israel. President Trump has also voiced his opposition to the U.N.’s proposal. As summer heat returns to the U.S., look for things to heat up between the U.N., U.S., and Israel. Jerusalem will become a focal point once more. In one of his first appointments, President Trump selected Mike Huckabee as the U.S. ambassador to Israel, another indication of this administration’s strong support for Israel.

Christians must remember why supporting Israel matters. In God’s unconditional covenant with Abraham, He promised, “And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed” (Gen. 12:3).

Does this mean the Israeli government gets carte blanche with Christians? No. It means we honor the Word of God with a biblical view of Israel’s past, present, and future in God’s redemptive and prophetic plans.

God told Israel: “For thou art an holy people unto the LORD thy God: the LORD thy God hath chosen thee to be a special people unto himself, above all people that are upon the face of the earth. The LORD did not set his love upon you, nor choose you, because ye were more in number than any people; for ye were the fewest of all people: But because the LORD loved you, and because he would keep the oath which he had sworn unto your fathers, hath the LORD brought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you out of the house of bondmen, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt” (Deut. 7:6-8).

Slip-Sliding Away :: By Dave Hubley

Please read the Special Message at the end of this article.

At first glance one might be tempted to think this is just a doom and gloom article from a Christian perspective. Perspectives matter when they are understood from inerrant and empirical Truth, mercifully revealed by the only source capable of the declaration of future prophecy with 100% accuracy, and He has been doing so for thousands of years.

For those who choose to believe Him, this is as far from doom as it could possibly be.

It is always advisable to keep current events in proper perspective, especially at this time in human history when things can change almost instantly.

It has now been a little over 2 months since President Trump was sworn in, and his administration launched what can only be described as a political blitzkrieg against the destructive, ongoing, and intentional effort by the “deep state” (the enemy within) and their frantic efforts to destroy what has often been referred to as the “American Experiment.”

America is an experiment because no human can know our nation’s ultimate state.

This aggressive action is necessary to stem the tide of evil. It should not be permitted to be delayed or stopped. Whether it is fully understood or not, the rest of the free world hangs on the outcome. This battle is for the soul of America and the survival of freedom.

Initially, the momentum was overwhelming, as I believe it was intended to be. However, the “opposition” has had some time to recover from the initial shock, and they are working diligently to create discord and throw up numerous “legal” roadblocks. These tactics appear to be effective in slowing the momentum of the effort to undo some of the harm that has been done to what currently remains of our Representative Republic.

Many, who perhaps saw only what they wanted to see with the reelection of Trump and who expected the destruction of America to be quickly unwound, are beginning to experience a growing and uncomfortable sense that despite the intense efforts of the conservative new administration, internal and external opposition is desperate, and they are unscrupulous. Things are far from certain, and at times, they even seem to be slipping away.

This frenetic anti-American activity includes liberal judges and lawyers doing things that are plainly destructive to our country, as well as liberal individuals forming groups and supporting causes and actions that are devoid of any trace of rational thought.

The trend toward behavior that fits these descriptions are, I believe, encapsulated in just two examples that preclude any need to formulate an exhaustive list. Consideration of just two of them is exhausting enough.

  1. Rogue judges and their allies are actively protecting murderous criminals and ordering them to be brought back into the US despite the mayhem, chaos, and violence that have already been proven to be the result of their presence.
  2. Groups of willingly mislead individuals (Queers for Palestine being one example), are demonstrating in favor of Hamas and their ilk when it is the equivalent of embracing suicide. Given the opportunity, Hamas would gleefully murder them.

Glorifying murderers and supporting people or groups of people who openly and actively work to kill and/or destroy anyone at a personal level and to undermine the very foundations of this country defies any logical explanation…or does it?

While the activity defies logic, understanding of the reasons for it do not.

If you have read this far and are willing to think rationally, consider these warnings from God’s Word. Even though you might despise the source, try to follow the reasoning.

The Word of God has already addressed this non-mysterious mystery before it ever occurred, and certainly, this is becoming more clear as it applies to these “last days.”

The apostle Paul, in the Letter to the Romans (and every soul who has ever lived or ever will live), was tasked by the Holy Spirit to begin his written ministry with the hard Truths of mankind’s willful rebellious nature, what it would consist of as we near the end of human history, and the consequences that would define it.

“The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness. For what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse. For although they knew God, they neither glorified Him as God nor gave thanks to Him, but they became futile in their thinking and darkened in their foolish hearts. Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools, and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images of mortal man and birds and animals and reptiles” (Romans 1:18-23). Emphasis added.

From Ancient days (Old Testament):

“Truly the hearts of the sons of men are full of evil; madness is in their hearts while they live, and after that they go to the dead(Ecclesiastes 9:3). Emphasis added.

From the New Testament:

“But realize this, that in the last days difficult times will come.  For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, revilers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, unloving, irreconcilable, malicious gossips, without self-control, brutal, haters of good, treacherous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, holding to a form of godliness, although they have denied its power” (2 Timothy 3:1-5).

What is the logical result of this willful, aberrant behavior: and is it commonplace today?

“Furthermore, since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, He gave them up to a depraved mind, to do what ought not to be done. They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed, and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, and malice. They are gossips, slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant, and boastful. They invent new forms of evil; they disobey their parents. They are senseless, faithless, heartless, merciless.

“Although they know God’s righteous decree that those who do such things are worthy of death, they not only continue to do these things, but also approve of those who practice them(Romans 1:28-32). Emphasis added.

“The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it?” (Jeremiah 17:9).

Now to the crux of this article.

“What I have said, that I will bring about; what I have planned, that I will do” (Isaiah 46:11a).

God’s prophecies of future events have never been wrong. This world will perish due to the rampant sin and rebellion that is growing in every sphere of human existence, but you do not have to go down with it. You can choose life.

God knows the outcome and has provided a way to be saved out of it. His will is that no one should perish (2 Peter 3:9 / 1 Timothy 2:3-4), and He paid the price for all those who would be willing to receive His offer of eternal life in His Son, Jesus Christ.

“I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live” (Deuteronomy 30:19). Emphasis added.

The special message I promised you:

For anyone who may read this article and has not trusted in Jesus Christ and therefore has no hope or peace in your life.

You can have hope. You can have the peace that Jesus has promised to all who have made Him their Lord and Savior. The peace that passes understanding.

It requires that you come before God on His terms and that you do so in your living years.

And what are His terms according to His Word?

  • Genuine repentance (turning to God instead of continuing to reject or ignore Him).
  • Confession of sins (that you are a sinner and acknowledge that to God).
  • That you understand that the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23).
  • To acknowledge to God that you are unable to pay that debt.
  • Belief that Jesus Christ paid your death sentence for you on the cross and rose from the grave three days later, conquering death, just as He promised.
  • To believe that Jesus is the Way, the only Way, that God has established by which humans may be saved from the consequences of their sin and rebellion.

God has made it absolutely clear that there is no one who comes before Him, under His terms, that will be refused.

  • No one: no race, no color, no country of origin, regardless of any previous belief system: no one.
  • No matter what your past sins have been, God can and WILL forgive you because He says He will.
  • Salvation is available to everyone without any exceptions.

If you put all your trust for salvation in Jesus, and Him only, you can follow that prayer up by simply saying, “Thank you, Father God, for hearing my prayer and saving me,” because we can trust Him to keep His Word. He always has. He always will.

“Truly, Truly, I say to you that he who hears My words and believes the One who sent Me has eternal life and will not be condemned. He has crossed from death to life” (John 5:24).

There are no answers and there is no hope in the world by governments, organizations, politics or politicians. There are only lies and deception. But you can have the Truth and the peace you seek.

The answers are in the Word of God—The Bible. If you ask God, with all your heart, He will hear you.

“And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart” (Jeremiah 29:13)
