I used to read comic books as a kid and learned to love reading as a child. Today, I read voraciously to know what’s going on in the secular world and read the Bible daily to know about the spiritual world as well.

In the early Superman comic books, there was a period when Superman (if I remember right) encountered or entered the bizarro world in which the characters were, for lack of a better word, demonic or demon-possessed. Today, such behavior is becoming the norm in our country. I think this storyline was where “The Joker” was introduced. He was always hell-bent on doing evil and was followed by “The Penguin” (kind of reminds me of one of the members of Biden’s administration). The rest are other assorted quacks, a man who thinks he’s a woman and wears a blond wig and lipstick, a man who lies with a man, thinking he’s a woman, radical women who act like radical men and would destroy the country that welcomed them with open arms, gave them sustenance, a roof over their heads, and last but not least – freedom from oppression.

From all appearances, that motley group of people is trying their best to destroy our Christian country, which former president Barack Obama openly said wasn’t a Christian country at all! — “Muslims had helped to build it.”

Hate Speech!?? No, – I just beg to differ. If anyone knows history, then they know that Muslims in the early stages of our country were pirates roaming the open sea and taking black people captive to become slaves, while earnest Christians were forming the laws that govern this land. Yes, admittedly, some so-called Christians were and are still capable of inhumane atrocities, but all in all, the folks that wrote the laws were decent people, yet sometimes all too human.

Do you remember when right was right and wrong was wrong, black was black and white was white, men were men and women were women, and sin was sin?

Today, many people have forgotten that word, and some even want to deny that sin even exists. The definition of sin is going against the rules of conduct set down by Almighty God – the God of the Holy Bible. The Ten Commandments can be said to be that standard.

I AM THE LORD THY GOD

1. Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
2. Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven images.
3. Thou shalt not take the Lord’s name in vain.
4. Thou shalt remember to keep the Sabbath day Holy.
5. Thou shalt honor thy father and mother that thou shall live a long life.
6. Thou shalt not kill.
7. Thou shalt not steal.
8. Thou shalt not commit adultery.
9. Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor’s house.
10. Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor’s wife nor his possessions.

Say what you will about it not being necessary to follow those rules of conduct, but Jesus said he came to fulfill that law and that not one jot nor tittle would be removed from it. But that was in reference to His fulfilling that law for us, not for us to break it but to fulfill it ourselves with help of the Holy Spirit.

Given free reign, men will almost always choose the aberrant way of seeing and doing things.

Back during two Democrat administrations, mental institutions were closed, and mentally sick people were put out into the streets of America to fend for themselves by going to clinics across America and taking pills (benefiting big pharma) to deal with their maladies. Did they also hope to garner voters?… Just asking.

In any case, they became stooges for the Democrat party at first, but after decades they stealthily infiltrated all our public institutions. Today, they even lord it over us by their entrance into government. Some are nothing more than enablers, while others are outright criminals and liars. Pedophilia, one of the more sordid mental sicknesses, pervades Washington DC, and many in power. Sexual perversion tops the list.

To say that men can give birth to babies and women can outdo anything a man can do, and just because a man wears a wig, applies lipstick, and wears high heels doesn’t make him a woman. And when a woman has her breasts removed and tries to grow a mustache, it doesn’t make her a man either. Sad to say, but this perverse way of thinking is dominating our country today. Men lying with men, and women lying with woman to do that which is against nature.

Jesus said, “As it was in the days of Noah, so shall it be at the coming of the Son of Man.” Noah was the only righteous person on the face of the known world then, and it grieved God that he had made man. Mankind at that time was hell-bent on breaking God’s laws which were “written on their hearts” by their conscience that God put there to rein in their aberrant behavior. But still, they insisted on having their own way and doing what they knew to be wrong.

During Noah’s time, sexual perversion was number one on their list of abnormalities. Lying, cheating, stealing, killing, and deceit also became the norm.

Are you beginning to see a pattern there?

Sorry to say, but we here in America have reached the apex of deviant behavior. Sin is rampant in our society. No one can be trusted to do the right thing. Lying is the norm and is practiced by many, including in government. Hillary Clinton misspoke (lied) all the time.

Christians are called to be light in the world, the salt of the earth. If our light diminishes and we lose our flavor, then we will inevitably be trampled underfoot. We are called to be a peculiar people, not normal everyday sinners devoid of God’s laws.

Book review

Today, with the advent of computers, anyone can write a book. The uneducated, the lawless, the fool, even the far-out left, and the weird as well.

Take, for example, the book I picked up at the public library the other day, the one with a catchy title under which is written her name, blah, blah blaba bla. Have you ever noticed that people who desire recognition use all three of their given names – like you know who? This author claims to be a preacher, yet she refers to God as She. What does that tell you? This dingbat has never read the Bible, so I’m taking it right back to where I got it. Whew!… the gall of some people.

This verse comes to my mind: John 14:6 “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”

This verse tells me there is only ONE WAY TO HEAVEN. Of course, Jesus is speaking in this verse. Jesus meant it when he said, “NO MAN COMETH TO THE FATHER, BUT BY ME.” So why are people trying to get to heaven their way? Satan blinds the hearts of men.

So how are you getting to heaven? That is the biggest question anyone will ever ask you. Your answer will determine where you will spend eternity – in heaven or hell.

The World’s Way to Heaven

Some believe there is no heaven or hell, so they don’t even bother with it. Many are trying to get to heaven with good works or being a good person, being a member of a denomination or religion, giving to the church, being a church member, or a minister. Here are two of the big ones, and these are the ones I will be writing about in this article: The Lord’s supper and baptism. These two ordinances of the church HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH YOUR SALVATION. I don’t understand how mankind thinks they can add to the precious blood of Jesus. So many believe that you must receive Jesus and be baptized in order to go to Heaven. People who believe this make John 14:6 of non-effect. There is only one road to heaven. ALL OTHER ROADS LEAD TO HELL. Jesus said, “No man cometh to the father, but by me.” This truth will not change for anyone, so why keep believing the wrong teachings and wrong preaching?

The Bible’s Way to Heaven

JESUS, JESUS, JESUS. Why? He shed his innocent, precious blood for you and me.

Romans 5:8-9 “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.”

When we receive Jesus as our Savior, his blood washes away our sins FOREVER. Salvation is a free gift that comes from God.

Let’s get into the message. ONLY JUSTIFIED BY HIS BLOOD. Not by water or anything else.

Mark 9:7 “And there was a cloud that overshadowed them: and a voice came out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son: hear him.”

God the Father told Peter, James, and John to hear Jesus. It is time for you to hear Jesus before it is too late.

1. Three things that can hinder you from receiving the Word of God.

Matthew 13:19 “When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side.” Is this what is happening to you? There is a reason why people cannot understand the Bible; it is in 1 Corinthians 2:14. “But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.”

You have to have the help of the Holy Spirit to understand the Bible. The lost do not have the Holy Spirit in them. If the lost will hear the Word, then they will have the faith to receive Jesus as their Savior. The KJV is written at a third-grade level, yet many become easily discouraged trying to read the Bible, and they give up. Don’t give up. The more you read, the more you understand. Also, when you read, pray to the Lord to reveal the truth to you.

Matthew 13:22 “He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful.”

Here in Matthew, the seed is the Word of God. When the Word of God fell among thorns. They heard the Word, but the cares of this world take the Word away from your heart. Notice the deceitfulness of riches. Most people are trying to build their own kingdom. They are too busy to even listen to the Word of God for 5 minutes. When they hear it, it is taken away from them.

Mark 7:13 “Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye.”

Jesus is saying that the traditions of man make the Word of God of none effect. So someone hears the true Word of God being preached, but they continue in their religious tradition instead of hearing the Word so they can get saved. Billions of people around the world try and get to heaven their way. It is time to listen to Jesus. Every person, under the sound of a preacher’s voice, needs to know in their heart whether he is preaching the truth. There are so many ministers out there that are not even saved, and they’re trying to prepare sermons. If you want a big crowd, all you have to do is tickle their ears, and they will come and listen. Preach on sin, hell, the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and the rapture of the church, and they will not come back.

No matter what, we need to preach and teach the Word of God and nothing else. The number one weapon Satan uses is a Christless religion. Most of them will say the name of Jesus or do many works in the name of Jesus, but they are none of his; they will die in their sins and go to hell. What is really sad is that they are taking billions of souls to hell with them.

2. There are only two ordinances in the church: Baptism and the Lord’s supper.

So many throughout history and today are trying to get to heaven through baptism or the Lord’s supper. Some believe they need both of them. If you and I knew how many today believe this, it would shock us. For every 15,000 ministers, there may be 4 or 5 ministers preaching the truth. Do you want to see the evidence of what I am saying? The condition of the world that we are living in today. If you talk to a church member about all of this, many would be offended. They will have to be offended because I am going to preach the truth. Let me say this: I am saying this with love and care. I will not beat anyone over the head with truth, but I will proclaim truth no matter the cost.

Lord, please help us say what we need to say and say it through the love of Christ, in Jesus’ precious name, amen!

The religious crowd has taken these two ordinances and has made them into men’s traditions. Baptism and the Lord’s supper are for born-again believers and no one else.

The first one I want to take a look at is baptism. The New Testament says so much about baptism, but I want to give you a few of them.

Acts 8:36 “And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized?”

Acts 8:37 “And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.”

Acts 8:38 “And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him.”

The eunuch said to Philip, what doth hinder me to be baptized? The man needed to get SAVED FIRST. That is what happens in verse 37 (only one English version of the Bible has this verse; it is the KJV Bible). Most will put a footnote at the bottom of the page. WHY WOULD SOMEONE TAKE A WHOLE VERSE OUT OF THE BIBLE? When you take this verse out, it reads like you don’t have to receive Jesus as your Savior, but you do. Salvation through the blood of Jesus must come first. There are so many verses and words taken out of the English Bible.

Revelation 22:19 “And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.”

For the Bible that is in English, as for me, I will stand on the KJV. My pastor at my home church is preaching a series of messages on the KJV. In Bible college, I had to write many pages on this subject.

We need to hear the voice of Jesus and listen to him. I would not want to be in the shoes of those that have gone against the Word of God in Revelation 22:19.

Matthew 28:19 “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.”

Matthew 28:20 “Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”

Baptism is a command from Jesus to believers, not the lost.

1 Peter 3:21 “The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ.”

IT IS TIME TO LISTEN TO THIS VERSE. It is a “like figure.” It has absolutely nothing to do with salvation. We are buried and have come up out of the grave just like Jesus. NOT THE PUTTING AWAY OF THE FILTH OF THE FLESH. What is this saying? It gives us the answer of a good conscience toward God.

LOOK AT 1: Peter 3:21 in the NIV: “and this water symbolizes baptism that now saves you also—not the removal of dirt from the body but the pledge of a clear conscience toward God. It saves you by the resurrection of Jesus Christ.”

The translators have taken this verse and butchered it, changing its meaning. They have replaced “like figure” with “this water symbolizes baptism.” Two different meanings. Notice the next one: “not the removal of dirt from your body.” What is it saying? You’re not taking a bath. The meaning is so different than in the KJV.

2 Corinthians 5:17 “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”

Baptism is a picture on the outside of what happened to you on the inside. When you get baptized, you are identifying yourself with Jesus and showing the whole world that you belong to Jesus.

The Lord’s Supper

1 Corinthians 11:24 “And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me.”

1 Corinthians 11:25 “After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me.”

In verse 24, brake the bread — this is his body. Here is the answer. THIS DO IN REMEMBRANCE OF ME.

In verse 25, drink out of the cup. The answer is in remembrance of me.

When you take the Lord’s supper, you are remembering what Jesus did on the cross for us.

Genesis 3:1 “Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?”

Genesis 3:4 “And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:”

Is Satan saying to you what he did with Eve, “Yea, hath God said”? Satan will say the same thing to you. He will try to get you to question the Word of God.

In verse 4, we see that he told Eve a lie when she heard the Word of God. He said to her, “ye shall not surely die.” But she did die spiritually. It is time to listen to Jesus.

Luke 2:37 “And she was a widow of about fourscore and four years, which departed not from the temple, but served God with fastings and prayers night and day.”

The widow was 84 years old, and the way she served God was by fasting and praying every day and night. How are you serving God?
