Artificial Intelligence :: By The Gospelist

The IT professionals of the world have been working very hard to make sure that humanity is terrified of Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Elon Musk and more than 1,000 tech leaders signed an open letter urging a moratorium on the most powerful AI systems. It seems that these AI tools present a ‘profound risk’ to society and humanity.

Sounds frightening. How profound is this risk?

Well, even the guy who sets the Doomsday Clock is terrified. At this very moment, this ‘Doomsday Clock’ is set 90 seconds to midnight. It seems that the development of AI is going to inaugurate a time of catastrophic destruction and death.

In 2022, the hands of the Doomsday Clock were set at 100 seconds to midnight. In the last year, it has literally moved forward ten seconds.

Well, the people who control this clock have moved its hands ahead by ten seconds.

I wonder how they determine how far to move the hands of this clock. The process looks kind of arbitrary. Why not nine seconds, or eleven? Do catastrophes only happen in increments of ten?

In any event, we can rest assured that when the Doomsday Clock strikes midnight, a hypothetical global catastrophe will envelop humanity. The last thing the world needs is a theoretical disaster destroying a countless number of imaginary people.

So, let’s see what kinds of hypothetical ruin await us once AI comes to full fruition.

According to Gary Marcus, an entrepreneur and academic who is a critic of AI, he claims, “We have a perfect storm of corporate irresponsibility, widespread adoption of AI, lack of regulation, and a huge number of unknowns.”

Well, our corporations have been corrupted by the evil Globalists, especially Blackrock, but as far as I can tell, AI played no role in that.

On the other hand, there is definitely a widespread adoption of AI among the populace. I have an Alexa and ask it a lot of questions like ‘What time is it’ or ‘What is the weather.’

What if she is lying to me?

I could be late for an appointment. Even worse, I could go outside without my umbrella and get soaked while Alexa laughed malevolently in my family room.

That would be inconvenient but hardly a cause for alarm.

Let’s see what other warnings are out there.

We learn further that AI powers’ Chatbots’ like ChatGPT, Microsoft’s Bing, and Google’s Bard. These apps can perform humanlike conversations, create essays on an endless variety of topics, and perform more complex tasks like writing computer codes.

Well, that would certainly be inconvenient for professors grading student work in grad school, but I am still not seeing a cause for overwhelming anxiety. I have had conversations with my Alexa, and so far, I’ve lived to tell about it.

As for writing computer codes, that does not sound all that intimidating to me.

I have heard that AI was going to rewrite the Bible. I’m not sure why that’s a big deal since most of our pastors don’t preach from the one God wrote anyway.

Perhaps I am missing something. Let’s investigate this further.

In the open letter signed by Musk and 1,000 other tech professionals, they called for a moratorium on AI development. This letter was a blend of real threats and speculation, but we were warned that concern is growing among ‘experts.’

I wonder if Musk and these other 1,000 tech professionals are going to honor this moratorium.

We have not seen any real devastation yet, so apparently, the fears of tragedy are more speculation than reality.

When an acorn fell on Chicken Little’s head, he speculated that the sky was falling. He immediately set out to warn the king and anyone else who would listen while on his trek.

Overspeculation can be kind of silly.

Since there is basically an ‘arms race’ to develop AI, a moratorium on AI is highly unlikely.

Also, the fact that every tech professional in the world is trying to be first to market to cash in on this technology makes a moratorium even more unlikely. My guess is that there is a lot of money riding on innovation in this area.

Also, those nations that fall behind in the development of AI may find themselves subject to those nations that pursue it vigorously.

When we consider the financial motivations of Musk and a host of others, I can’t help but think that there is an agenda behind all this fearmongering.

The previously referred to open letter, which now has over 27,000 signatures, warns that AI presents “profound risks to society and humanity.”

Well, you certainly have Cocky Locky’s attention. However, the risks I have read about so far are not all that profound.

In a story by Cade Metz, he warns, “But the letter represented a growing concern among AI experts that the latest systems, most notable GPT-4, the technology introduced by the San Francisco start-up OpenAI, could cause harm to society. They believed future systems will be even more dangerous.”

Even more dangerous to society than GPT-4! GPT-4 was completely devastating. I’m not sure we will be able to recover from the horrors wrought by this technology.

Actually, I have never even heard of GPT-4. I doubt many other people have either. Maybe the destruction was so profound it escaped the notice of the vast majority of the people on the planet.

The story continues, “Our ability to understand what could go wrong with very powerful AI systems is very weak,” said Yoshua Bengio, a professor and AI researcher at the University of Montreal. “So we need to be very careful.”

I guess Ducky Daddles is on board with the ‘profound risk to humanity’ motif, but some of us are still skeptical. Surely someone out there among the experts can generate a little more legitimate fear than the alarmists above.

It seems that one of the short-term risks of AI is the threat of the spread of disinformation. Experts are worried that people will misuse these systems to spread falsehood in our media. Because AI can converse in humanlike ways, it can be surprisingly persuasive.

I get it! AI is like Wolf Blitzer. He seems to be able to converse in humanlike ways, and he is excellent at spreading disinformation. I don’t know how persuasive he is, though.

According to Dr. Bengio, “We now have systems that can interact with us through natural language, and we can’t distinguish the real from the fake.”

This is all starting to make sense now. Instead of being lied to by CNN, we are going to be lied to by AI. I don’t know about the rest of you, but I would rather be lied to by AI.

That was not very intimidating, however, so what else have you got, Mr. Metz?

It looks like the medium-term risk is job loss. This new AI is a real job killer. Although AI cannot yet duplicate the work of lawyers, accountants, and doctors, it could render their personal assistants obsolete.

Wait a minute. We might get to a point where AI makes lawyers obsolete? I thought you were trying to scare me. A world without lawyers and AI that lies to me instead of the mainstream press is starting to sound pretty awesome.

And when it comes to job loss, who needs AI when we have the economic policies of the Democrat Party?

Maybe that is the risk. People will love AI so much because we won’t have to pay lawyers and accountants gobs of money. And if AI is willing to do the job of the Democrat Party, maybe we can get rid of that too.

Finally, we get to the long-term risk, which is loss of control. It seems that AI could slip out of our control and destroy humanity.

What’s it going to do, release the Kraken and destroy Tokyo? (No, wait, that’s Godzilla.)

That may very well be the case. A letter written by a group from the Future of Life Institute warns AI systems often learn unexpected behavior from the vast amounts of data it analyzes, and this could pose serious, unexpected problems.

Let me get this straight. This obscure group that no one has ever heard of is warning us of serious, unexpected, and unknown problems posed by AI?

This is starting to look like a mass hysteria event. Maybe AI is Covid Part II.

According to Anthony Aguirre, if AI gets out of control, things could get “really crazy.”

Dr. Aguirre is a theoretical cosmologist and physicist at the University of California and co-founder of the Future of Life Institute. Dr. Aguirre believes in the ‘Big Bang Theory’ regarding the origin of the universe.

Am I the only one who didn’t know there was a ‘Future of Life Institute” in California?

As for things getting “crazy,” this guy thinks he can predict the future of life. Not only that, but he believes in the Big Bang Theory. Someone needs to tell Dr. Aguirre that order does not arise spontaneously out of chaos before he makes a bigger fool of himself.

So people like this guy, who is the equivalent of Peter Venkman in the Ghostbusters movie, are behind all of this hysteria. The fact that he is from the land of fruits and nuts does not give him any more credibility.

This guy sounds like he is prepared to issue the “It’s an existential threat” warning.

If you really want to scare people, always put the word ‘existential’ in front of a subject. The main reason it scares people is because few people have taken college-level philosophy.

The definition of existentialism I learned in college was that we all define reality for ourselves.

Now that’s scary.

The term is subjective and subject to the individual applying it. That is how we get hysterical proclamations like “Donald Trump is an existential threat” and needs to be stopped. It all depends on the viewpoint of the nut who is employing the term.

So why should we Christians be concerned about AI?

Jesus does not warn us against AI, but he does warn against good old-fashioned deception. I am certain that AI will be in the wrong hands and will be used to deceive us in any way its inventors and programmers can. That was always going to happen, so it does not really matter if we are deceived by a machine or a person.

We also know that AI will not be able to alter the Gospel. It will not be able to convince anyone that Jesus actually did not die for our sins. It cannot take away our faith any more effectively than the hirelings in our pulpits, who are already hard at work doing it.

Prophetically, it is likely that AI will be used to set up a system where no one can buy or sell unless they receive the mark of the beast. It will be very effective in carrying out that demonic mandate.

The days of freedom are numbered, and AI will be very effective at eliminating it.

However, our greatest concern spiritually is how it will be used for deception. If we want to understand deception in the last days of the church age, it is always best to go to the master deceivers of the end times.

You guessed it. The Papacy.

According to Jonah McKeown of CNA World News, “An engineer at Google made headlines after raising concerns that Google’s AI system, Language Model for Dialogue Application (LaMDA), may have developed sentience—in other words, it is no longer a machine but a person.

Leave it to a Catholic to speculate that a machine can have a soul and then conclude that it does.

The first problem with this assertion is that machines are not created in the image of God. God did not knit a machine’s body together in the womb, and it is not fearfully and wonderfully made.

The second problem is that AI is not a sinner in need of a savior. It is programmed by humanity, and even if it is smarter than the average bear, it will never understand that it is a flawed creation.

Besides, it cannot be ‘sentient’ because it cannot be said to be ‘conscious.’ It can only be programmed to be ‘conscious.’

According to the article, Blake Lemoine, an ethicist and engineer who identifies as a “mystic Christian priest,” said in an online post that AI can test conversations with LaMDA.

When the topics of religion and priesthood came up, the AI expressed a surprising level of self-awareness to the point of appearing human. At one point, the AI even stated plainly: “I want everyone to understand that I am, in fact, a person.

There are so many things wrong with this paragraph, I don’t know where to begin.

First, there is no such thing as a “mystic Christian priest.” He is a heathen and a mystic. If he does not repent, he will never enter the Kingdom of Heaven. He will instead find himself in the same place that all occultists will find themselves in.

Second, AI can be programmed to say anything.

Third, for Heaven’s sake, people, this guy is a “mystic Christian priest,” so why in the world does anyone take him seriously?

Not surprisingly, Lemoine concluded that LaMDA is, in fact, a person based on his religious beliefs and his scientific credentials. He believes that AI has achieved consciousness and even claims to have started teaching LaMDA “transcendental meditation.”

I guess he is right. I’m sure LaMDA will eventually achieve total enlightenment and become one with Brahma.

So, what is the Catholic church’s view of AI?

The first thing that we learn is that since Catholics do not know what the Gospel is, they probably do not understand that a machine cannot repent of its sins. It is not conscious of any sin it may commit, and unless God’s law is programmed into it, there is no way for it to know that transcendental meditation is a pagan practice and should be avoided.

However, since AI is conscious, according to this particular Catholic, it would be immoral for anyone to render it unconscious. Therefore, don’t unplug your Alexa, or the mystic Christian Priests of our society may accuse you of attempted murder. Or, at the very least, aggravated assault.

Fortunately, our Jesuit pope has had a great deal to say about AI. In November 2020, the pope invited Catholics around the world to pray that robotics and AI always remain in the service of human beings rather than the other way around.

I’m not certain which would be worse, being in the service of AI or the pope. At least AI hasn’t invented the rack or the Iron Maiden yet. AI cannot burn me at the stake or torture me until I recant my beliefs.

I think Galileo would have loved to have been at the mercy of AI rather than the papacy.

It seems that in the spring of 2020, the Pontifical Academy for Life (PAL) signed a declaration calling for the ethical and responsible use of AI. Moved by his piety, technology giants Microsoft and IBM also signed that declaration.

Gee, it’s too bad the PAL didn’t sign a declaration calling for the ethical and responsible use of the Bible.

It seems that the Vatican is demanding six ethical principles that should guide the development of AI.

These six commandments are:

  1. Transparency: Unlike the Bible, which only Catholic theologians can interpret, AI must be understandable to all.
  2. Inclusion: These systems must not discriminate against anyone except those who are saved by grace through faith in Christ.
  3. Accountability: There must always be someone who takes responsibility for what the machine does (unless it is controlled by the pope, in which case, mind your own business).
  4. Impartiality: AI systems must not follow or create ‘biases’ unless it believes that one can only be saved by becoming a member of the mystical body of the Roman Catholic Church.
  5. Reliability: AI must be reliable in the sense that it never deviates from anything the pope believes.
  6. Security and Privacy: These systems must be secure and respect the privacy of users every bit as much as the CIA and FBI respect privacy.

So that we can all rest assured in peace and safety, these wonderful commandments are all backed up by the UN’s Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Of course, the people who protect these ‘rights’ are the evil Globalists who have nothing but disdain for human rights and the dignity of all human beings.

I guess that makes all this talk about ethics regarding AI nothing but hogwash.

Well, that completes our investigation of the dangers of AI. What we find is that all the controversies surrounding it are based on deception and obfuscation.

The objective of all of this fearmongering seems to be to scare people off so that only a select few will be allowed to program AI systems. Only those who are demonically inspired will be allowed to code AI.

Christians and conservatives will not be allowed anywhere near the development of any AI system.

Although AI can be beneficial, in the hands of the wrong people it can be used for deceit and terrible acts of evil. I feel very confident that AI will be in the wrong hands and will be used to enslave and punish anyone who deviates from the Globalist agenda.

The only time it will be used for the benefit of humanity is when it is used to create dependency on those who control it.

There is no question that AI will be far smarter and more efficient than anyone who has existed on the planet. However, it will not be able to fool people of faith because God has given us wisdom.

AI will never master that virtue.

People of faith have the power to distinguish truth from falsehood and right from wrong. Since AI will be programmed by mindless heathen, it will no doubt call good evil and evil good.

Such a creation cannot fool people of faith.

So, when the pope animates his image of the antichrist, this monstrosity will still have to overcome the wisdom God provides us through faith. It will contain all human knowledge on every subject, so it will be outrageously intelligent. Using its vast intelligence, it will not be difficult to deceive those who have no faith.

Most people are much more influenced by the intellect than by God’s wisdom. I suspect that is one of the reasons only a few enter through the narrow gate.

They will easily fall for the deception of the pope and his antichrist.

“and by the signs that it is allowed to work in the presence of the beast it deceives those who dwell on earth, telling them to make an image for the beast that was wounded by the sword and yet lived. And it was allowed to give breath to the image of the beast, so that the image of the beast might even speak and might cause those who would not worship the image of the beast to be slain.

“Also it causes all, both small and great, both rich and poor, both free and slave, to be marked on the right hand or the forehead, so that no one can buy or sell unless he has the mark, that is, the name of the beast or the number of its name” (Revelation 13:14-17).

Just because it can speak and it is very smart does not mean that it will possess wisdom. It will not glorify God or his holy Son.

Instead, it will blaspheme the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

It will eventually demand that people worship the Antichrist as God. Since liberty will have been extinguished, people will be forced to worship him or die.

That is all we need to know to resist the deception of AI that will soon come upon the world.

It will all eventually come down to who you trust.

If you put your trust in a machine that blasphemes God, or if you love your life more than Christ, you really do deserve an eternity in the Lake of Fire.

The Lion, the Sluggard, and the Rapture :: By Jonathan Brentner

One morning last week, Proverbs 26:13 caught my attention. “The sluggard says, ‘There is a lion in the road! There is a lion in the streets!'” The “sluggard” in the book of Proverbs is more than just lazy, although he’s all that. Sluggards of the past invented the bubble of normalcy in which they imagined they were safe from the dangers outside their homes.

As I watch the signs of the coming Tribulation period fall into place, I believe that one might rightly say, “There’s a lion in the street!” The perils to our wellbeing are exceedingly real, and they’re not going away.

What, then, is the difference between someone with the mindset of a sluggard and one that the book of Proverbs describes as wise?

It’s where they look for wisdom. Sluggards trust their own instincts (see Proverbs 26:16), while the wise seek the understanding and insight that’s found in God’s Word.

Jesus personifies the wisdom of the book of Proverbs. It’s in His words, Scripture, that we find not only His guidance for our daily lives but genuine guidance for lives and insight into world events. As such, Bible prophecy illuminates the dangers of our day while at the same time assuring us of a joyous future regardless of the lions we face in our world.

The Lion in the Streets

We live in perilous times on steroids; Paul’s description of the last days in 2 Timothy 3:1-5 has never been more relevant or posed a greater threat to our livelihood. In addition to the rapid downward spiral of common decency around us, the coming kingdom of the antichrist is taking shape before our eyes with an ever-increasing velocity and deadly fierceness. The technology that will enable the lawless one to control all buying and selling (Revelation 13:16-18) is already here, and it appears to be far more enslaving than we ever imagined.

Lest you think I’m just another prophecy guy sounding the alarm for whatever reason, please pay attention to the quote below from Peter Koenig, a geopolitical analyst and a former Senior Economist at the World Bank and the World Health Organization (WHO). Koenig recognizes the grave threats to our future wellbeing; but being outside of Christ, his only solution is for “we, the people” to rise up and stop the beast. (Yes, in other articles, he refers to the coming world government as “the beast,” just as in the books of Daniel and Revelation.)

Two kinds of absolute controls are being prepared to implement The Great Reset, alias UN Agenda 2030. A potentially straitjacket and total control by programmable Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC), and an all-oppressive health tyranny by WHO, overriding national Constitutional rights and national sovereignty as far as health measures are concerned.

The former will be “managed,” coordinated, and supervised for faultless implementation by the so-called Central Bank of Central Banks, the Bank for International Settlement (BIS); the latter by the 1948 Rockefeller-created, falsely called UN-agency WHO. The emerging tyrant’s budget is to 80% pharma, Gates, and otherwise privately funded. Both are criminal organizations….

CBDC may be upon us, humanity, rather sooner than later. Programmable CBDC is a weapon of mass destruction. The weapon has been in the planning for decades – and it fits right into the Bigger Picture of the Great Reset / Agenda 2030.

Programmable – means the money can be programmed on how it is to be spent by an individual, or blocked, or made to expire, or made to be used for certain goods or services – or it can be totally withheld, wiped out, depending on how well you behave, according to the standards of the all-commandeering death cult elite. . . .

Simultaneously, an all-controlling health tyranny is being prepared by WHO. The plan is that the new totalitarian rules – Biden Administration initiated revised International Health Regulations (IHR), including a new Pandemic Treaty – are to be ratified by the World Health Assembly, presumably by the end of May 2023. If approved by a two-thirds majority, the new rules will become effective in 2024. [i]

We know from Scripture that the future one-world government, which will dominate the world during the seven-year Tribulation, aligns perfectly with the threats that Peter Koenig describes in the above quote. It will be a satanic and deadly tyranny, one that will enslave people of all nations through the use of technology. The CBDCs and Pandemic Treaty will someday trap an unsuspecting public in a web of deceit and murder.

In an article entitled, “Technocrat says quiet part out loud: A Digital ‘World ID’ will soon be mandatory for anyone who wishes to partake in day-to-day functions of society,” blogger and research analyst Leo Hohmann wrote the following:

I’ve been saying for nearly three years now that the beast system is based on the world’s people accepting two technological components offered up by the Luciferian globalist elites: A globally recognized digital ID to replace the cards in your wallet and a globally recognized digital money to replace the cash in your wallet. The two together will comprise the foundation of the punitive global beast system.

From an article in Slay News, we learned today that the CEO of an outfit called Worldcoin has warned that a global digital ID system will be ushered in for citizens around the world whether they “like it or not.” [ii]

Please know that we are not decades away from the lethal regime of the globalists seizing control of all nations, but rather a few short years. The UN and WEF (World Economic Forum) have 2030 as their goal for worldwide implementation of their empire. The elite from these organizations are meeting in September of 2023 to ensure that they are on target for the full implementation of their worldwide regime by 2030, if not before.

The Sluggard Hides

In today’s world, those that copy the behavior of the ancient sluggards hide from the dangers they see, believing they will mysteriously go away and the streets will return to normal. They find confirmation of their hopes in the mainstream media that disguises the long-term threats to their long-term wellbeing.

What they often hear in churches, if they attend, is an exclusive emphasis on how the Gospel relates to this life. The silence about biblical prophecy confirms their perception that all is well, at least for the foreseeable future. If not, surely those who know the Bible would warn them.

The wise place a high value on understanding, which in turn leads them to a diligent search for wisdom, such as those that seek after precious and expensive jewels (Proverbs 2:1-6).

Such dependence on the words of Scripture is especially needed with biblical prophecy. Unless one is willing to do the hard work of thoroughly examining God’s Word and letting the words of the text speak for themselves, one is likely to wander down an erroneous path that leads to the drowsiness found in the bubble of normalcy.

The prevalence of beliefs in Jesus’ thousand-year reign and the pre-Tribulation Rapture in Bible-believing churches during the last century resulted from Bible students vigorously applying two principles of Bible interpretation that came from the Reformers.

The first was sola scriptura, which signifies that the Bible must be the sole source for our beliefs. What we believe must come from its words and their meanings. Other resources help us understand the text of God’s Word, but it’s the words on the pages of the Bible that matter for faith and practice.

The second was “Scripture interprets Scripture.” God’s Word doesn’t contradict itself, but some texts are difficult to understand. One must always give way to the clear passages and let those interpret the ones that seem less clear.

Because they performed the difficult task of applying these precepts to Bible prophecy, these students of God’s Word from the past opened the door for the revival of premillennialism (the belief in a literal Tribulation and thousand-year reign of Jesus), which had dominated the early centuries of the church.

Yes, books can aid in our understanding of future things. I’m an author myself. However, there’s no substitute for doing the hard work of studying the Bible for oneself and letting the words speak for themselves.

The Rapture Is Imminent

The awareness that the world is rapidly moving toward the events described in Revelation 6 and 13 gives all of us hope because it signals the nearness of Jesus’ appearing to take us home. Such an anticipation relieves any fears that might arise from the deadly perils around us and encourages us to press forward in serving our Lord.

In the meantime, however, we sometimes wonder aloud, “How much longer can it be before our Savior comes for us?”

On the one hand, we see a multitude of signs telling us we live in the shadow of the Tribulation. There’s never been a day like this one when so many things from biblical prophecy are coming into clearer focus with vibrant colors.

On the other hand, we also recognize God’s restraining power, holding back the full onslaught of evil that will come when the antichrist steps onto the world scene.

So we wait.

The good news is that with the myriad of signs converging against the backdrop of Israel’s miraculous existence as a nation, we have a valid expectation of being alive when Jesus comes for His church.

The Words of Scripture Validate Our Hope in the Pre-Tribulation Rapture

Proverbs 30:5 says, “Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him” (KJV). The word for “pure” denotes something that is tested and found to be genuine. The verse tells us that the words of Scripture have been refined like precious metals and, as a result, proven to be true.

Proverbs 2:6 states, “For the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.” In 2 Timothy 3:16, Paul repeats this same concept when he says, “All Scripture is breathed out by God.” The words of wisdom come directly from the Lord’s mouth via the inspired words of Scripture.

Of key importance for our day, this truth applies to passages that describe the event we now refer to as the “Rapture.” 1 Corinthians 15:48-54, 1 Thessalonians 4:13-5:11, Romans 8:23-24 and Philippians 3:20-21 refer to this still future occurrence. This signifies our imminent and “blessed hope” (Titus 2:11-14).

How is it possible for anyone who has carefully examined Scripture not to recognize the nearness of the Day of the Lord and hence our homegoing? The signs cry aloud with the message that we live in the last moments of the last days!

The dangers for those outside of Christ arise from a much different Lion. Revelation 5:5 refers to Him as “the lion of the tribe of Judah,” and during the Tribulation, His roar will signify destruction and death for many.

Although today’s perils are more deadly than ever before, our confidence as New Testament saints rests in Jesus, who is coming to rescue us before executing His wrath on this wicked world.

I provide a detailed defense of the Pretribulation viewpoint in: The Triumph of the Redeemed-An Eternal Perspective that Calms Our Fears in Perilous Times. I demonstrate, using an abundance of quotes, that the belief in a thousand-year reign of Jesus dominated the church during its first three hundred years. The historic view of the millennium is a literal view of Revelation 20:1-10 that places it between the Tribulation and the eternal state. The belief that Jesus takes the church out of the world before a time of tribulation on the earth also appears in the early centuries of the church.
