The unidentified shooter died from a self-inflicted wound. It’s unclear whether the nine include the shooter, according to police.
Georgia: 17-year-old charged in connection with deadly mass shooting at block party . The Georgia Bureau of Investigation and Dooly County Sheriff’s Office charged a 17-year-old in connection with a mass shooting at a homecoming block party that left two people dead and 35 injured in Vienna. Authorities say more arrests are expected in connection with the violence. The shooting happened Sunday morning, October 4.
Georgia: 5 shot dead in Coffee County mass shooting, police department says. The Douglas Police Department says five people were shot dead Friday night, October 9 at a home in Coffee County. The investigation into the shooting remains ongoing. There’s no word at this time about any suspects. The sheriff’s office has also not shared any information about the victims or the location of the shooting.
Virginia: 16-year-old dead, another teen injured in shooting outside Norview High. Norfolk Police Chief Talbot said the shooting stemmed from a confrontation in a school parking lot on Wednesday, October 7 between two groups of high school students. A member of one group pulled out a gun and fired four to six shots at two teens, both about 16 years old, Talbot said.
