I want to do something a little different. We can call this a bonus offering for the week to encourage you in your walk with Christ. In the June 2022 issue of the Voice of the Martyrs Newsletter, there is an article titled “Going at Any Cost” about a young missionary by the name of John Chau. As I read the account of John’s life and death as a martyr for Jesus, it affected me greatly, and I wanted to share it with you who may not have seen this issue of VOM’s newsletter.
Let me start out before reading with a quote by Dietrich Bonhoeffer. He once asked the following:
“Who stands fast? Only the man whose final standard is not his reason, his principles, his conscience, his freedom, or his virtue, but who is ready to sacrifice all this when he is called to obedient and responsible action in faith and in exclusive allegiance to God – the responsible man, who tries to make his whole life an answer to the question and call of God. Where are these responsible people?”
