My Friends, how often do we look at ourselves and wonder, “Am I chosen of the Lord?” And I believe there are many that will say, “I am Chosen.” And yet, are we as chosen as we would like to believe? It is always at this point that we wonder, how do we test ourselves to know this? You and I are definitely loved by the Lord; and still, as yet, we are members of the Fallen Species, human.
I was sitting on my porch this morning, watching the Beautiful Sunrise, and I asked this of myself. Why this popped in my head, I don’t know, except the Lord was asking me. Faith was a concern in this matter as well. Then the following passages of Scripture popped into my head and my heart sunk.
Matthew 17:19-20 “Then came the disciples to Jesus apart, and said, Why could not we cast him out? And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.”
Do you know why my Heart sunk? I could have stood up and looked at the Smokey Mountains and said “I want that mountain to move.” Trust me, my Friends, it would still be sitting right where it was to begin with. I am Born-Again, I LOVE the Lord, yet…is my faith as big as a grain of Mustard Seed? Evidently and to my Shame, It is NOT! Go ahead, y’all; try it for yourself; it is truly Humbling!
My Friends, I am not trying to throw anyone under the bus, if you will, but who are we, anyone for that matter, to pontificate of ourselves?! Am I being hateful or crass here? I Hope I am not, just trying to help not only myself, but others as well. Like passing out a Litmus Test… right?
Ya know, I sit on my porch and I always end up Praying and Talking with the Lord; and at times I hear a response, but not always. My Faith increases when my Lord and Savior is talking with me, because HE is always there! And yet that Mountain has not moved, much less a toothpick on the table.
Do you think me crazy for this article? Do you think I am angry or hostile? I Hope and Pray that is never the case! If a Non-Believer was ever able to Tell the Toothpick to move, according to their faith, and it did, they would be ordering every conceivable thing in their head…am I correct?! How much more could a Believer ask for? Do you get my drift here? The Litmus test is very REAL. If a Believer ever moved something like that, I want to meet you and shake your hand and then get to know you! Because it is obvious, I am missing something…right?
FAITH is the most important thing for us! If everyone caught on to this, can you imagine the change in this world? Violence would no longer exist, Hunger would disappear, there would be no more need for money or anything like it. Everyone would be fed and clothed and cared for, and everyone would be on their knees at every turn, Giving thanks to the Lord God for HIS Love! This is not conjecture; this is absolute Truth, and all of us know this in our hearts.
