Follow The Truth :: By Dennis Huebshman

Galatians 1:6-9, “I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you by the grace of Christ, and are following a different gospel. Not that there really is another gospel, but there are some [false prophets] who are disturbing you, and wanting to distort the gospel of Christ.” [And now a warning for all times, and especially in this day and age.] “But even if we, or an angel from heaven, should preach a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you; let him be condemned to hell. As we have said before, and now I say again, If anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to what you received; let him be condemned to hell.” This warning is very specific about keeping God’s word pure. [all emphasis mine]

If someone would take a true translation of the Bible in a version they could understand, and study from it daily, they could be assured the word of the Father is absolute truth. It is good for teaching, for reproof, for correction and for training in righteousness (2 Timothy 3:16). One thing to remember, the Father did not give us the holy word for entertainment. It is a true guide, that if followed, will lead to eternal life in Heaven. Every word written there over time was given to about 40 writers that were inspired by the Holy Spirit (2 Peter 1:21). When God says something, He means it. If something is repeated, we should note that this is especially important.

In the Galatians verses above, Paul’s warning is given twice. To all who wish to share the Word of the Lord, they should be aware that if they “tweak” it to fit their own agendas, God will not take it lightly.

Another example of something being repeated is found in Joel 2:32, Acts 2:21 and Romans 10:13. At the time of Joel’s writings, Jesus was about 835 years away from coming to earth for His mission of gaining Salvation for all mankind. However, Joel’s prophecy was intended to reference the end of this age, and his message was that “all who would call on the Lord to be saved, would be saved.” Until Calvary, this was meant to direct all to follow the will of the Lord God Jehovah, and refrain from worshiping other gods.

Acts 2:21 was written by Luke, and Romans 10:13 by Paul, and are mirror image verses. “All who call on the name of the Lord will be saved.” At this time, this is known to reference Jesus, and is directed at everyone – All – who have lived on this earth, and will live until the end of the Millennium. This is the new covenant established through the shedding of the pure and sinless blood of God’s Son. Please note, God’s covenant with Abraham was not abolished by this covenant.

Our Heavenly Father loves us so much (John 3:16 and Romans 5:8) that He wants no one to end up in the Lake of Fire with Satan and his demons (2 Peter 3:9, Revelation 20:11-15). He gives us every opportunity to repent and accept His Son, Jesus; and all who truly do so will have an eternal home in Heaven. Even though our past may have been totally evil, if we truly repent and ask Jesus to be our Savior, our past sins will be remembered no more. Psalm 103:12, “As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us.” This does not mean we will never sin again on this earth, but we will have an assured pathway to forgiveness.

The triune God – Father, Son and Holy Spirit – is absolute truth, while Satan is absolute lies. Many evangelical churches that used to follow the word of the Lord are changing the messages to gain members, and fill collection plates. Instead of teaching the true word so that the membership would be properly informed about their “soul status,” the aim now is to “entertain” with no-fault, feel-good productions. Sad part is, that the false prophets’ goals are being met. Their members are literally buying their way into hell.

In John 14:6, Jesus said, “I am the Way, the Truth and the Life; no one comes to the Father except through Me.” Our Savior did not give his life willingly (John 10:18) so that the true word could be “updated” to match the current trends. Hebrews 13:8, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, and today, and forever.” Acts 4:12, “And there is Salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under Heaven given among people, by which we must be saved.”

Anyone who tries to say God’s word is “outdated” will eventually be shown just how wrong they are. Revelation 22:18-19 is an absolute warning of the consequences they will face. “I testify to the one who hears the words of prophecy of this book; if anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book. And, if anyone takes away from the words of this book of prophecy, God will take away his/her share in the tree of life and in the Holy City that are described in this book.” This warning has not changed with the passage of time; it’s the same today as when first given.

We are bound by the time limits that were given to us. Genesis 1:14, “God said, let there be lights in the expanse of the sky to separate the day from the night; and let them be signs to indicate seasons, and days, and years.” In 2 Peter 3:8, he says, “Now dear friends, do not let this one thing escape your notice; that a single day is like a thousand years with the Lord and a thousand years like a single day.” Simply stated, God is not bound by time as we are. He is always the same. He’s omniscient (all knowing); omnipotent (all powerful) and omnipresent (everywhere at once – past, present and future).

Satan’s followers are using the Bible to give their messages; however, they’re twisting words, adding words and leaving words out to give meanings that were not intended by the Father. Bear in mind, Satan knows the Bible better than most pastors. To not read the passages that the “preachers” are referencing, is to leave ourselves open to being deceived. The purpose of attending church services should be to learn more about, and get closer to, Our Lord and Savior. Satan’s false prophets want exactly the opposite. If they can “entertain” the congregation with mystical light shows, have catchy music and give messages that are designed only to tickle ears, their job has been completed. They will try to convince people that just by being there and giving funds to the church, this will mean everyone is saved.

Also, one to three hours a week is not enough to truly develop a relationship with the Lord; it’s an everyday commitment.

For these services, Jesus is rarely mentioned, and then only in passing remarks. People are led to believe there are so many ways to Heaven, and not to limit themselves to one source – the Son of God – that the Bible plainly states is the “only way.” There are even some “alternate lifestyle” preachers, male and female, that are adjusting some Bible verses to make it seem that the Father suddenly is now okay with what was previously declared abominations. This is just what all the “alphabet” people are looking for. A true believer is a threat to their lifestyles, and we’re called “haters.”

Any time you hear a speaker say, “The Bible Says…”, take the time to look up the verses for yourself. It may just be what causes you to dig even deeper, and get closer to Jesus. John 8:32 and 36 say, “And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free… If the Son therefore sets you free, you shall be free indeed.”

A true believer sees all that’s happening in this world, and rather than despairing, we are encouraged. Remember Matthew 24:33; “So also, you, when you see all these things, know that He is right at the door.” Luke 21:28 goes just a bit further, “But when these things begin to happen, stand up and raise your heads, because your redemption draws near.”

There are only two paths to follow. Matthew 7:13-14 calls them the “straight and narrow” way, and the “broad pathway.” There were, and are no illusions, as Jesus said there would be “few” that would find the pathway to Salvation. Many, the majority, would be on the wide pathway leading to destruction. There are no other options.

Time is growing shorter, as prophesied end-time events are unfolding rapidly. Changes are daily, and in some cases, hourly. There is a coalition in place that will go against Israel that has never formed before. Israel is once again in their own land as a sovereign nation after being scattered world-wide for about 2,000 years.  Again, this has never happened before. Evil is growing stronger daily, and all the end-time attitudes are here at the same time (2 Timothy 3). The best part of all this, God is totally in control. It’s better to follow the prophecies of the Bible for today’s events than to rely on secular faux news stations.

The next major event will be the Rapture (1 Corinthians 15:51-53 and 1 Thessalonians 4:13-17). It’s a mega-event that will involve the removal of about 10% of the world’s population, and will be completed in less than one second. After this, a period of 7 years will take place that will be worse than anything this world has ever experienced. All who are here to go into it will be totally miserable.

Re-read Joel 2:32; Acts 2:21 and then Romans 10:9-13. If you haven’t done so, call on Jesus today. The Rapture/harpazo/taking up gets closer by the minute. Follow the Truth, Jesus the Christ, Our Lord and Savior, and you will be assured a home with Him forever. Romans 8:1, “There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.”
