“But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death” (Revelation 21:8; all scriptures KJV).
ABBA FATHER GOD takes the Sin of Lying very seriously! Unfortunately, there are a lot of people who seem to be Habitual Liars. Such cases include Compulsive and/or Pathological Lying. Compulsive Liars are addicted to Lying whether it benefits them or not, and Pathological Liars tend to tell repeated Lies with no apparent motive.
That is why it is paramount that we as Christians know our Bibles. That we aim to learn what is truly in GOD’S WORD because there are many False Prophets and Liars in these Last Days that are out to deceive us! A False Prophet falsely claims to have the knowledge of prophecy and/or divine inspiration. They are wolves in sheep’s clothing, and by their Fruit you will recognize them.
“Lying lips are abomination to the LORD: but they that deal truly are his delight” (Proverbs 12:22).
For example, in recent months we had an acquaintance (for the sake of this article we will call him “Pinocchio”) come over to help us with an issue we had around the house. We were grateful for his help but after some lengthy conversations about life struggles and Christianity, I became kind of concerned. Uneasy because he claimed to be a Christian but proceeded to tell me Blatant Lies about things that were clearly not in the Bible!
Since my husband and I have read through the Bible twice together over the past few years, we knew the things “Pinocchio” told both of us at different times were false. It is a good thing that we knew better by our diligent reading because if we had not taken the time to learn and grow in GOD’S WORD, then “Pinocchio” might have been able to deceive us with his false statements concerning what the Bible has to say about CHRIST!
One of the claims that “Pinocchio” made to me during our discussion on ‘life struggles’ was that GOD loves it when we’re ‘real with HIM,’ real when we are hurt, angry, and even ‘real to the point that we are cussing HIM out’! “Pinocchio” said he knew this because every disciple in the Bible cussed JESUS out at one time or another!
Umm… nowhere in our Bible did we read of any Apostle, Prophet, or much less a Divinely Hand-Picked Disciple ever cussing our LORD JESUS out! If anything, when things ‘got real,’ they all acknowledged their unworthiness and were compelled to fall down on their knees before HIM to declare their sinfulness, their woe, and to profess HIS Deity!
“When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus’ knees, saying, ‘Depart from me; for I am a sinful man, O LORD'” (Luke 5:8).
“Then said I, ‘Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts'” (Isaiah 6:5).
“And Thomas answered and said unto him, “My Lord and my God'” (John 20:28).
To recognize the Deity of JESUS CHRIST WHO IS GOD and then be anything less than Humble by having the ‘Blatant Ignorance and Sheer Audacity’ to cuss ALMIGHTY GOD out would be a ‘Blasphemous, Condemning, and Mortifying Position’ to put oneself in, to say the least!
Another claim “Pinocchio” made was that in the Bible JESUS drank and got drunk. Umm… in the Bible we read it says that JESUS Turned Water into Wine at a Wedding in Cana for HIS First Miracle; but nowhere do we read in GOD’S HOLY WORD that our LORD ever got drunk! Hypothetically, if JESUS sinned by getting drunk, then that would have rendered HIM a Sinner! Therefore, disqualifying HIM to be GOD’S SPOTLESS LAMB to become a HOLY SACRIFICE for us. Furthermore, JESUS would have become ineligible to be our SAVIOR, and that would have eliminated HIS SOLE PURPOSE in coming down and DYING FOR OUR SINS to Save us!
See how Subtle Satan is? If he can get one to Believe in a Small Misunderstanding or even a Slight Twisting of the Scriptures, then he can Deceive, Confuse, and get one’s Mind to Discredit the Deity of CHRIST! That is exactly what the Enemy Strives to do in many Arenas, Cultures, and Religions is to systematically and consistently Attack the Deity of CHRIST! Because if one does not Understand, Believe, and Trust GOD’S WORD about a SAVIOR who was both fully Man and fully GOD coming down 2,000 years ago to Save all Who Would Believe, then such a one will easily Fall Prey to the Lies of the Devil!
“Pinocchio” also relayed to both of us at different times that he is not ready for the Rapture because he ‘still has a lot of living to do.’ On that note, from what we have learned by reading GOD’S WORD is that JESUS commands HIS Followers to WATCH! We are to BE READY and to PRAY ALWAYS that we may be ACCOUNTED WORTHY to ESCAPE ALL THE THINGS TO COME and to STAND Before the SON OF MAN!
“Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man” (Luke 21:36).
“Be ye therefore ready also: for the Son of man cometh at an hour when ye think not” (Luke 12:40).
“Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come” (Matthew 24:42).
Therefore, how is Claiming to be a Christian but not Ready or much less Waiting, Watching, and Looking Forward to our BLESSED HOPE consistent with what GOD’S WORD Instructs all True Believers to do?! Once again, our Discernment and Answer to that Question Relies on the Words of JESUS when he told us we would Know them by their Fruit. Therefore, the Fruit we can perceive in our acquaintance “Pinocchio” indicates that he is someone who does not really know GOD’S WORD or our BLESSED SAVIOR!
“Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven” (Matthew 7:20-21).
