Face To Face :: By Clay Smith

Yes, one day, those of us who are alive now that have placed our trust and entire life in Jesus our Lord will see Him face to face. What a glorious day that will be! There are no words that can expressively represent heavenly joy in any way in this that I know of. That is our hope and joy we hold onto while we are here in this temporary home called Earth. We as Christians live by faith in the Son of God (our religion of Christianity) and are forgiven and redeemed by His Blood He shed on the Cross at Calvary almost 2,000 years ago. I guess it would be called blind faith.

The Old Covenant believers that lived and died during the time up till Christ, and the saints that have passed on since Christ till now are with Him now in Paradise, or Heaven. They are seeing Him face to face. As soon as a believer dies, he/she goes immediately to be with Jesus.

“Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord” (2 Corinthians 5:6).

Paul also stated in the Epistle (letter) of Philippians chapter 1, verses 21 & 23, “For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain… For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better.”

While we are living now, we really desire to be with Christ our Lord, which is more imperative than being here desiring the temporary material happiness in this life. Nothing compares with that. But God created us for His purpose to accomplish His will while we are here on earth for His Glory. He has given all of us our own free will to live as we choose too. We all have gifts, talents, and human abilities to do with what we wish. What are you doing with yours wherever you are in the world? Are you serving God? Are you loving others?

We are looking for that eternal home when our time is up here. But, those of us alive today that are saved could possibly not see death if Jesus comes to take out His Church, the Redeemed, in the Rapture. We would be like Enoch and Elijah that did not see death because they were no more. They went to be with the Lord because He took them out.

Those of us here believe we are in the last days/end times, right before Christ comes as foretold in the Scriptures, and we will be gone in an instant.

1 Thessalonians 4:17 “Then we which are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air: and so we shall ever be with the Lord.”

To understand this better, you can look up many articles the writers have written on the Rapture. Now, this is what some of us believers are looking forward to. It’s really imminent.

Here is a stanza from a very popular Christian song that came out a few years ago from which I derived my title.

“Time has faded and we see him face to face

Every doubt erased, forever we will worship the King.”

Wow! Time quickly passes by for sure, and I know this well. I’m almost seventy, and God only knows how long I have left. Our days are numbered, and some people pass on early in life. I have a twin brother that passed away at birth; I’ll see him in Glory. Our son passed at the age of 24; we will see him there also. As soon as I see Jesus and rejoice with joy, in that moment, I will ask Him “where is Matthew? Imagine that?

We do have doubt here from time to time because we are human. Now throw in Satan, the liar and deceiver, trying to destroy us, and that makes it harder to believe sometimes. But our doubt will be erased that day. Hallelujah! The name of that song is “All of Creation” by Mercy Me. Listen to it; it’s beautiful.

So, where do you stand? Where is your faith? Who do you trust for your eternal life, or death? There is only one true living God, and His name is Jehovah or YHWH! The Bible, God’s Word, states this.

Hebrews 10:31 “It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.”

Do you notice the little word “the” in there? That is singular; it denotes one. The only One.

Isaiah 44:8 “Fear ye not, neither be afraid: have not I told thee from that time, and have declared it? Ye are even my witnesses. Is there a God beside me? Yea, there is no God; I know not any.”

God here is saying there is no other God that exists and has Authority or Kingship that he knows of anywhere from everlasting to everlasting, because He created everything and everyone. There are many little gods, either manmade from materials or made up in their conscience somehow; but there is only one YHWH. Do you see God’s sense of humor here? Yes, He has emotions also, because He created us “in His image.”

Our God is an everlasting, wonderful, amazing, and loving God that we serve. Do you know Him?  He loves you and desires a relationship with you through His only begotten Son, Jesus (Yeshua in Hebrew), and the Holy Spirit. Give your life to Him now and gain an entrance in His real Heaven by believing and trusting in His Only Son.

Jesus died for my sins as well as your sins. Here is one last Scripture for all who read this who wants eternal peace and joy, starting now.

2 Peter 3:9 “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is long suffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.”

May God Bless You,
