The Fantasy versus The Truth :: By Don Twobears

Many, many things take place through the years of our lives – some good, and others not so good. We all want the very best for ourselves; and over time, we now see the “It’s all about ME” syndrome is in full swing. Each of us always wants the most comfortable, the most luxurious in all things, whether or not we are able to obtain them.

Young men and some older ones at that, always want the most beautiful female on their arm. That’s not so bad, is it? Yet, what about Jezebel? How many do you know? A “Painted Lady.” Wow… What a concept… right?! There are many in the world, and we know of them as well.

I am NOT saying that any woman who wears makeup is bad; many use makeup to cover flaws and scars, and that is not bad. Still as yet, there are far too many who use makeup to make themselves more desirable to men. Oftentimes, it turns out they are hiding things behind the makeup. Please do not get me wrong; there are many men who do the exact same thing, presenting themselves as more than what they actually are. It does indeed go either way!

What most people never understand is that this is Deception. It’s like a clown, all covered in makeup to look happy and all, yet they can be miserable individuals underneath. So, in many cases, we delude ourselves, and we do so by choice. How odd is that?! We CHOOSE to be deceived.

In the end, we find that woman or man to be anything but what we first thought… am I not correct? It’s sort of like that old saying: “You can dress up a dog, but it is still just a dog.” Somewhere along the way, she/he sort of falls apart – lose the makeup and she is a “Plain-Jane.” He smells or has bad habits, and so he falls apart as well. They never seem to perform as you “Thought” they would, and so the “Fantasy” is over. The “Deception” has been found, and now we are disappointed, to say the least.

Most people have attributes about themselves they do not want others to know. Their attitudes and thoughts are less than stellar. The point being, people in general have many things they wish to hide from others, the truth being heartbreaking, if to only themselves. Thus, the deception practice! One thing they SHOULD understand, though: the Lord God knows everything about them, to include their thoughts!

Proverbs 5:3-6 “For the lips of a strange woman drop as an honeycomb, and her mouth is smoother than oil: But her end is bitter as wormwood, sharp as a two-edged sword. Her feet go down to death; her steps take hold on hell. Lest thou shouldest ponder the path of life, her ways are moveable, that thou canst not know them.”

One must always remember, “The truth will set you free!” So ask yourself this one question: which do you desire, the Truth or the Lie? Guess who is the Father of Lies? None other than Satan!

We humans like the Pretty or Beautiful things, the “Britney Spears” if you will. Yet is that what the Lord God wants for us, or does HE have something more for you? You will never know if you do not have a Relationship with HIM. If you never talk to HIM, or Thank HIM for all the blessing, why should HE provide the best for you? Strange as it may be, HE still Blesses you!

The Lord wants us to be like HIM: quiet and calm, thoughtful and caring; but most of all, HE wants us to be humble! Ummm…now that’s a tough one! At times, HE may choose someone for you, to help you remain calm – to sort of downplay that rambunctious nature of yours. Make sense? A spouse that will truly Love you for everything you are rather than how you look. If you believe that Life can be cruel, marry someone that the Lord did not pick out for you and see how that goes. Know what I mean…y’all?

As we already know…the Lord God IS Love! Who better to trust on these issues, who better to guide in areas we know so little about…right? How about a passage of scripture to verify these things:

1 Samuel 16:7 “But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart.”

Is it so difficult for us to be as the Lord God is? We NEED HIM…not the other way around! We need to guard ourselves against Satan and his ilk, because they want the worst for us, because they HATE us! We were created in the image of God! Satan will do whatever he can to assure that we go to Hell and the Lake of fire with him! Satan and his ilk laugh and party when we fail, when we are hurt, and even more so when we go to hell. Satan is constantly shaking his fist at God because he hates God! Thus, Satan hates you and me!

Personally speaking, I have nothing against a beautiful girl or woman, but my heart and my desires are for my Wife!

The world is wrapped up in the things that will never last. The world loves everything about this life on earth; and, by and large, they never see how temporary this life here truly is. As I have stated before, go to a cemetery and tell me who the rich are? Death is the great equalizer on earth! When you’re dead, nothing matters as to how rich or poor you were… you’re gone… and that’s it. Ya can’t take the money!

When we take the time to calculate 80 or so years here on earth against the length of Eternity…there is no equal, is there? So then the question becomes, which would you prefer to have – fun in these 80 or so years…or Love and contentment for Eternity? Thing is, YOU must choose, and only for you! With Satan you get 80 or so years of fun…but an Eternity in Hell. With Jesus Christ, you get Eternity in Heaven, and this life continues to be beautiful. So what’cha gonna choose, my Friend?

Everybody is gonna see Jesus Christ one day. The question is: will it be at “The Bema Seat of Jesus Christ,” or will it be at the “Great White Throne of Judgment?” Personally, I prefer the first one!

Matthew 11:28-30 “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
