Come, Lord Jesus, But Not Too Soon :: By Jan Markell

Late last week a prominent pastor from a well-known denomination came against the glorious news that the King is coming. This man has a daily call-in radio program.

I am not referring to Hank Hanegraaff, who has come against this ministry before, and in a shocking manner. In 2016 I was called a “blight on our times” and worse by Hank. Who knew I was that far off-base? He stated that I was engaging in “scrip-torture” with my pre-Millennial Dispensationalism.

But just like Hanegraaff, this radio host stated that since Israel became a nation in 1948, people have been saying that things are winding down. And that’s true — they are. How do I know? The Bible tells me so!

“When the Lord builds up Zion, He shall appear in His glory.” (Psalm 102:16 KJV)

Whether that’s the Rapture or the Second Coming, Israel is the key to the lateness of the hour! But this radio pastor called this good news “a huge distraction.” The pastor urged the caller to stop listening to prophecy teaching and “just get into your Bible and that will make you happy.”

In a response to all of this, Pastor J.D. Farag says, “I don’t think the Bible is to make us happy. The Bible is to make us ready.” As Pastor J.D. reminds his audience, the harshest rebuke of Jesus was to the religious leaders of His day for knowing the signs of the weather, but not the signs of His first coming.
