On February 3, Goebbels wrote in his diary: “Now it will be easy to carry on the fight, for we have all the resources of the state. Radio and press are at our disposal. Joseph Goebbels was the Minister of Propaganda under Adolf Hitler from 1933 until 1945. Having a passion to be a journalist, novelist and playwright, Hitler was very impressed upon meeting Joseph, with his ability to communicate.
I think the feeling was mutual between Goebbels and Hitler as Goebbels remained in his service until he committed suicide April 30, 1945. The day after Hitler committed suicide, Goebbels and his wife poisoned their six children and then killed themselves before allied troops could arrest him.
This man, Joseph Goebbels, was the war chest for Adolf Hitler and Nazi Germany. He rose to power immediately.
In his diary, each entry, month by month and year by year, his message was clear; rid Germany and the world of Jews. He was in charge of removing all truth, and promoting a lie that Jews were subhuman and needed to be killed. But if you read all of his diaries, his vision grew along with Hitler’s – first to cleanse the Reich, then to cleanse Berlin, then Germany, each country in Europe, and the whole world. It was more wicked and more progressive as the lie grew. His propaganda campaign was the fuel to this roaring fire.
For example:
February 5, 1942: The Jewish question is giving us a headache. This time, however, it is not because we have gone too far, but because we are not going far enough. Among large sections of the German people, the idea is gaining headway that the Jewish question cannot be regarded as solved until all Jews have left the Reich.
February 14, 1942: The Fuehrer once more expressed his determination to clean up the Jews in Europe pitilessly. – Joseph Goebbels’ Diaries: Excerpts 1942-43, page 69, The Nizkor Project.
We all know how the above story ends with the annihilation of six million Jews. The death toll of World War 2 was somewhere between 50 and 80 million, including disease and famine caused by war.
This is a sad part of our history as a world. It is what it is; you cannot change it. There are still deniers that this actually happened, despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary. That is truth suppressed.
This brings us to today. I see so many similarities between the rise in propaganda from Goebbels to what is happening in the world today, especially in the United States.
The mainstream media today is filled with propaganda. I am very careful about my news sources, as most networks are unreliable sources of information. Also, they seem to take no pleasure in telling the truth, getting to the truth, investigations seeking truth, or upholding the truth. They paint a picture of something evil and say, “This is the truth.”
Franklin Graham was in the news just today, saying he feared a coup d’etat was being staged to take over our Government. The amount of propaganda that is being formed against President Trump seems to increase by the day. This coup remains to be seen, but I see its formation as well.
You know, Satan is the enemy of all truth and the one who is truth, Jesus Christ. Satan is the source of all propaganda, because propaganda kills and he likes that too. Look at the death tolls above.
Here is my definition of propaganda – the truth has been removed and the lie is propped up!
I am quite sure that when the antichrist comes to power, he will again reach into this war chest and pull out his favorite weapon, propaganda! Many will die because the Bible says that these things will be so during his reign in the latter days. But woe be it to those who help him, who trample truth and reject salvation in Jesus Christ!
Won’t you take a moment to make Jesus Savior and Lord of your life? He cleanses your sin and makes you a new person!
If you are a journalist, ask Him to lead you into all truth and to be one who upholds truth! Our world desperately needs to hear the truth.
