The Gospel Vs. the Climate Change Gospel :: By Sally Law

The Climate Change Gospel

There are many false gospels floating around our world today, even proclaimed by those who profess to be Christians. Jesus did not die on the cross to save the planet; He came for us, for you and me, to save us from our sins. That is the true gospel. The false gospels, on the other hand, are everywhere: TV, fake news, government reports, willing pulpits and social media.

Growing more militant by the day is the man-made climate change gospel, claiming the allegiance of world leaders, politicians, religious leaders, the rich elites of society, Hollywood and their pocketbooks. You cannot be a liberal or progressive unless you are well versed in this crazy belief. You are even called out as a denier if you do not pledge allegiance to this colossal lie!

Panic buttons are pushed with questionable articles citing scientific research, and verified by those who are equally questionable. There are credible and believable researchers that have come against this philosophy. Others have changed their articles by adding an “update” to clarify that, indeed, man-made climate change is the number one culprit.

I did read a good article last year, published April 3, 2017 entitled, “The Surprising Benefit of Melting Sea Ice in the Arctic: Pools of water help marine life to flourish.” I’m almost certain it is not a must-read for most of the man-made, climate-change proponents. But, check it out!

However, I have never read an article that was written by a secularist regarding climate change where the writer acknowledged our God, the creator of heaven and earth. I guess they haven’t read much of the word of God, as many questions are answered in our instruction manual for life —the Bible!

Psalm 24:1 says, “The earth is the Lord’s and everything in it, the world and all who live in it.”

But, something is going on! It’s hard to ignore! What is it?

The weather is changing and becoming more unstable – more earthquakes, more hurricanes, more tornadoes, more fires and more mudslides – all of these in a few months’ time, and they have been devastating! This is true and we here in the United States have been greatly affected.

Why are these weather phenomena happening? Is God trying to tell us something through these events?”

I found some wisdom in the Bible and I would like to share that with you dear readers. I have divided it into five sections, and hopefully this will point you to Christ and give you hope.

The world at the time of Adam and Eve was created by God. It took Him six days, and he rested on the 7th day from His labors. The Garden of Eden was perfect, but there was no man to cultivate the ground. So, God made Adam and then took a rib and fashioned Eve.

The ground was self-watering, all of it. Rain from the sky did not exist at this time. It was a paradise untainted by sin. Satan was present there in the form of a serpent but had not lied and deceived just yet. Then one day Satan caused Eve to question God saying, “Has God said?”

Adam and Eve had perfect, unbroken fellowship with God and had dominion over the earth and all God had made, until she ate the fruit and gave to her husband to eat, and he ate. They fell and so did the earth.

Genesis 3:17 “…the ground is cursed because of you. Through painful toil you will eat of it all the days of your life.”

All creation on God’s earth is in a fallen state due to Adam and Eve’s sin, and is awaiting redemption.

The story of Cain and Abel in Genesis 4:9-12 tells us of the first murder. “Then the Lord said to Cain, ‘Where is Abel your brother…?’ And he said, ‘what have you done? The voice of your brother’s blood cries out to me from the ground. So now you are cursed from the earth, which has opened its mouth to receive your brother’s blood from your hand. When you till the ground it will no longer yield its strength to you. A fugitive and a vagabond you shall be on the earth.”

Murder and killing obviously has not changed here on Planet Earth, and in these end times it is getting worse. In the United States the crime rate in Baltimore and Chicago last year increased exponentially. According to the Baltimore Sun, Baltimore’s violent crime rate increased from September 2016 to the same date in 2017 by 15 percent – that’s 9,100. All creation on earth surely is crying out to God! Then there’s American abortion and abortion worldwide; don’t even get me started on that or we will never get out of this article! More later on this.

All the earth is groaning and heralding the Second Coming of Jesus Christ!

I believe the rapture will precede the Second Coming and remove all believers, the body of Christ, from the earth. The rapture of the church will be the first end-time event to occur. The next event called the Tribulation or “the time of Jacob’s trouble,” will commence. Seven years of tribulation filled with judgments are poured out upon mankind, both Jew and Gentile. During this time the antichrist, along with the false prophet, will rule and deceive many. They will also kill many people not complying with them and their agenda. Sound familiar?

Where are we present day? The birth pang stages!

Jesus says in Matthew 24:7 that earthquakes, famine and pestilence will be some of the signs of His coming, but these are merely birth pangs. These birth pangs – the natural, earthly phenomenon, are signals of His Second Coming. Being a mother, I am fully acquainted with birth pangs. Once they start, that baby is coming, so get ready! The intensity and frequency of the pains tells you just how close you are to birthing.

Jesus’ coming must be getting close, as we have experienced an uptick in all natural disasters, with intensity and frequency. 2017 was a whopper of a year for strong birth pangs. We know the rapture is at hand!

God fully intends to redeem the earth. He made it. It’s His handiwork. He has a future plan that includes the redemption of the earth. Mankind is his priority. He loves us, and that’s why he sent Jesus!

Romans 8:22-23 “For we know that the whole creation [all things God created] groans and labors with birth pangs together until now. Not only that, but we also who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, eagerly waiting for the adoption, the redemption of our body.”

For the Christians, the last thing remaining is the redemption of our bodies. From Grace thru Faith:

“Paul said believers who die go directly to be with the Lord (2 Cor. 5:8). He also said that at the rapture the dead would be raised (1 Thess. 4:16-18). The first statement refers to our spirit and the second to our body. When we die our body goes into the ground where it quickly decays, while our spirit goes to be with the Lord. No one knows what form we take on then, although from passages like Luke 16:19-31 it appears to be recognizable to others in that realm. At the rapture we receive a new physical body that, unlike our current one, is not subject to aging, illness or decay (1 Cor.15:53).

All creation on this earth groans and awaits its redemption, too, when Jesus returns!

The earth will then be under the rule and peace of Jesus Christ. Jesus comes back after the Tribulation, the second advent of Christ, with his bride, the church, to earth to defeat and destroy all His enemies! All evil and wickedness will be dealt with by Him.

Isaiah 2:4 “He shall judge between the nations, and rebuke many people; They shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation shall not lift up sword against nation nor shall they learn of war anymore.”

No more bloodshed! Peace under the rule of Christ!

Satan is eventually destroyed for good. He will be thrown into the lake of fire where the antichrist and false prophet are. Anyone whose name is not written in the book of life goes there as well.

After that, according to Revelation, God makes a new heaven, a new earth and a New Jerusalem. Read Revelation chapter 21. Every place on earth that was once defiled by Satan and fallenness will be replaced. All things are new in Christ!

Revelation 21:5 “Then He who sat on the throne said, ‘Behold, I make all things new.’ And He said to me, ‘Write, for these words are faithful and true.”

Hold fast to the true gospel of Christ! He’s after mankind first, to redeem us. He made the earth for us to dwell in. We are what is most important to God. He promises to redeem the earth as well. The Lord comes, and He really has the whole world, you and me, in His hands!
