Amazing Grace :: By Holly Spate

GRACE. Such a beautiful, precious word. God’s grace reaches deep and cleanses completely, touching our souls. No matter the circumstance, no matter the choices made or path taken, God’s grace rescues us from ourselves. It wraps us in unconditional, forgiving, never-ending love. It allows us to experience, in remarkable ways, His mercy. We can start afresh because He cares, because He loves, because He- our wonderful Father and Savior- has given us the extraordinary gift of grace.

Thankfully for us, His grace knows no bounds, His love has no limits, and His mercies never fade. Because of His grace we are free, we are clean, we are made new again.

God is so good and so incredibly loving that He continually pours his grace into our lives. We are undeserving of such a miraculous gift, but it’s a gift He lets us open again and again. Praise God that He cares for us so deeply, forgives us so completely, and loves us so unconditionally.

The following Scriptures serve as beautiful expressions and reminders of how blessed we truly are:

“Out of the fullness of his grace he has blessed us all, giving us one blessing after another” (John 1:16).

“For God has revealed his grace for the salvation of all people” (Titus 2:11)

“But by the free gift of God’s grace all are put right with him through Christ Jesus, who sets them free” (Romans 3:24).

“Let us have confidence, then, and approach God’s throne, where there is grace. There we will receive mercy and find grace to help us just when we need it” (Hebrews 4:16).

God’s grace for each of us is so amazing! Our human minds can’t comprehend how very blessed we are and our hearts don’t seem to appreciate enough the amazing gift we’ve been given.

1 Timothy 1:14 says,  “The grace of our Lord was poured out on me abundantly, along with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus.”

How wonderful and freeing. How incredible that God’s grace doesn’t require perfection, but is bestowed out of love and endless mercy by our heavenly Father. How remarkable is God’s grace for his creation.

As obedient believers, we can be the vessel God uses to pour love and extend grace into the lives of those around us. We have a responsibility to extend this gift to others and share it freely and abundantly. We’re to reflect our Savior…to be God’s hands and feet in action. What better way to do that than look for opportunities to pour the many blessings of God’s grace into the lives of others?

There are so many hurting people today…so many souls who could use a touch of grace in their lives. Many are going through rough valleys waiting for their mountaintop moment. Some may have lost a job or a loved one. Some may be battling a sickness. Others may simply need a friendly smile or an uplifting word of encouragement as they maneuver through their day. God’s free gift of grace allows us the opportunity to open our hearts and bless others.

2 Corinthians 8:7 reminds of Gods’ grace: “But since you excel in everything—in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in complete earnestness and in the love we have kindled in you —see that you also excel in this grace of giving.”

We could all benefit from taking time to reflect upon God’s acts of grace in our own lives. Perhaps such an exercise would allow our hearts to be more open to helping others and provide a deeper appreciation for the many blessings we’ve encountered due to God’s amazing, amazing grace.
