Am I Going to Heaven? :: by Dan Skapunsky

The Bible is where we find the truth of what God has to tell us about such things as life, death, sin and salvation, and within its pages we read very clearly and exactly what He has  to say about this most important matter of who will go to heaven, and who will not.

It is with much hope that you will read this and consider the great importance of what is being said here, because this is all about your eternity!

Having that great comfort and joy of being at peace with God, knowing that when eternity comes you will be spending it in heaven because all of your sins have been completely forgiven, can be yours—only if you are truly saved.

Salvation is all God’s work in the heart of Man and absolutely nothing that we do can attribute to our salvation, for the Bible clearly tells us, “Not by works that we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us” (Titus 3:5).

The Bible tells us also that there is only one way to be saved and that is, you must have the saving faith to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, repent of your sinful ways… and follow Him.

There is no other way!

Jesus tells us, “He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life, and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abideth on him” (John 3:36).

The Bible also tells us, “For there is no other name under heaven, given among men, whereby we must be saved” (Acts 4:12).

Now, that “faith” to believe on Him can only come by hearing/reading His Word—the Bible.

“ Faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God” (Romans 10:17).

God Himself must give us that faith to believe in Jesus as the only “Way” unto salvation and He does this work in us as we hear or read the Bible.  He does so for the person who truly seeks Him with all of his or her heart (Jeremiah 29:13).

“These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God that ye may know that ye have eternal life” (1 John 5:13).

Did you hear that? Please read that again!

God has “written” these things in the Bible that we might believe and be saved!

It is therefore of the utmost importance that you get yourself a Bible and read it that God  might do that miracle work in your heart, that you come to believe on Christ and turn from your sinful ways.

The Bible is not just another book, but the very Word of God unto us, that we might know the truth and the only “way” unto eternal life.

Those who deny, ignore, or have no interest in what the Bible has to say, despise their own soul and shall be destroyed! (Proverbs 13:13-15:32).

Read that dire warning again!

People today foolishly chase after the things of the world seeking those pleasures that never last.

Always wanting more of things they think will satisfy and yet, they never seem to have enough.

The Bible tells us, “The eyes of man are never satisfied” (Proverbs 27:20).

Those who love this world and chase after the things of this world are on the path that leads to eternal death (Proverbs 16:25).

The Bible warns, “Whosoever is a friend of the world is the enemy of God” (James 4:4).

“Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world; if any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him” (1 John 2:15).

We are told to set our heart on things above, on things that are eternal and not on those things of the earth that are temporal (Colossians 3:1).

Jesus tells us this: “For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also” (Matthew 6:21).

Dear reader, where is your heart?

Seek the Lord and His mercy while it is yet today, while you still have the breath of life in you!

Do you realize that you very well may not live through another week?

Please think about this.

Not only that but we are also living in the very last days which the Bible speaks of and though many mock and say this is not so, God says otherwise!

Jesus said that when the gospel of the kingdom is preached unto all nations of the world, then the end shall come (Matthew 24:14).

My friend, we are living in the very end of time as this gospel has now gone into all the world.

We are told that in the very last days, perilous times would come, that men would be lovers of their own self, proud, boasters, blasphemers, unthankful, unholy, trucebreakers, covetous, disobedient to parents, false accusers, haters of those that do good. lovers of pleasure more than lovers of God with eyes full of adultery and all manner of evil…. just as it is in our day.

Regardless of all the new technologies of our day, this present world is in great chaos and its so-called “leaders” have absolutely no solutions whatsoever on how to turn things around.

Each day grows darker and with more trouble.

Yes, great trouble has come upon the earth. The Bible forewarned that sin and wickedness would abound and that there would be great distress of nations with perplexity, men’s hearts failing them in fear for the things that are coming upon the face of the whole earth.

“How long do we have” many ask?

According to the Bible, this present sinful world is coming to an end very soon and the signs of this are all around us. We are told to “Watch.

Repent of your sins now and seek God’s mercy, or else you are without excuse and will die unsaved.

Remember, you may not live to see next week.

Do not ignore God’s WARNING about all this!

We are told to “watch” for the day of the Lord is near, and it very well may even be this year!

Will you at last stand before God at the judgment, guilty in all your sins, having loved this present world with all its vain pleasures and follies and would not turn from such sins as adultery, hatred, fornication, envy, filthy talking, drunkenness, lying, cheating, stealing, gambling and the love of money?

The Bible clearly warns us in Galatians 5:19-21 that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

Jesus said, “For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his soul?” (Matthew 16:26 )

God warns us to turn from these things and to call upon Him while it is yet today, for He has never turned away His ear from a truly repentant sinner who was seeking His mercy!

The Bible tells us “Let the wicked man forsake his way and the unrighteous man his thoughts, and let him return unto the Lord, for He will have mercy upon him and will abundantly pardon” (Isaiah 55:7).

The churches of our day have become mere social clubs and places of entertainment, wanting to please man rather than God, and warn not about sinful living and the need for repentance, but instead tell the people… “Jesus loves you just as you are.”

Jesus says something very different in the Bible, therefore let us listen to what Jesus tells us: “Unless ye repent, ye shall perish” (Luke 13:3).

They, along with all televangelists, falsely assure these dear people that all is well, not to worry “Just accept Jesus into your heart and you are saved.”

This very deceptive teaching is not of God and is found absolutely nowhere in the Bible!

The truth is that Jesus does not need us to “accept” Him, rather we need Him to “accept” us! We read this in 2 Corinthians 5:9  and Ephesians 1:6.

Jesus warns of deceivers such as these, who would come in the very last days, those who appear to be true men of God, who speak about Christ, but who are actually false apostles, false teachers, who twist the scriptures to their own profit and lead many astray to their very destruction!

Beware, for these men are not of God, but servants of the devil as we read in 2 Corinthians 11:13-15.

Don’t be fooled by these smooth talking charlatans, for there is no salvation in what they say!

Dear reader, listen to what God has to say to you in the Bible, that He may guide your heart into the truth of His Word and turn you from your sinful ways that you might be made a new creature in Christ.

This is the only true way to heaven!

Open your Bible and begin reading in the book of Proverbs which speaks much about what God loves and what He hates, and then go to Matthew and read all the way through to the end of the Bible.

Always read slowly and pray that God may give you wisdom and understanding and as you do, He will do His work in your heart (Psalm 119:169).

Do not put this matter off another day!

Remember, you very well may not live to see next week!

May the Lord bless you and cause your heart to believe, love and share the truth, as we await the glorious coming of Christ!

Hallelujah!
