The Navigator :: by Greg May

“Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature” (Mark 16:15).

Before He ascended into Heaven to sit at the right hand of God, Jesus instructed us to carry God’s plan of salvation to all the world. It’s called The Great Commission and it is the duty of every born-again believer. It is not our job to save people; it is not even our job to convict people—that’s God’s job. Our job is to plant seeds.

But how does one plant seeds when the ground is barren?

Today, satellite technology allows the gospel to be heard all over the world via radio and television broadcasting. But there are still remote areas of the world where satellite TV and radio signals cannot reach.

There are many people hungering for the Word of God who cannot turn a dial or flip a switch and hear about Jesus. And did you ever stop to think of the high illiteracy rates in rural areas which prevent people from reading God’s Word? These people desperately need to hear the Good News of the Savior.

Millions of Syrians and Iraqi refugees—driven from their homes and lives—are in need of hope. Because of ISIS these refugees who were once doctors, teachers, and lawyers are now living in 10×10 shipping crates in rat-infested makeshift camps. Broken and frightened amid sickness, hunger and poverty God’s Word is bringing them hope, healing and joy.

In leper colonies of Andhra Pradesh, India, outcasts of leprosy cannot turn the pages of a Bible because they have lost their fingers to this disfiguring, debilitating disease. Yet they can now hear the Word of God thanks to a portable, solar-powered electronic device called The Navigator.

Dr. Michael Youseff of LEADING THE WAY Ministries has made a significant breakthrough in bringing the Word of God to people who do not have access to radio and television.

The Navigator is compact, handheld and is pre-loaded with the message of God’s Word and biblical teachings that are translated into the local language. Navigators are pocket-size and durable; solar-powered and battery-free; perfect for remote areas without electricity. Each Navigator is loaded with the audio New Testament in the local language along with up to 50 of Dr. Youseff’s powerful teachings.

Over the years hundreds of thousands of people have received Navigators including Syrian and Iraqi refugees, lepers in India, tribes in South Sudan and persecuted Christians as well as prisoners, orphans and other groups of unreached people.

As Navigator devices are distributed, recipients experience the love of Jesus and are encouraged and comforted in the midst of their suffering. Through The Navigator, God’s Word encourages them, nourishes them spiritually and gives them peace in a world that has rejected them.

I encourage anyone who reads this to support LEADING THE WAY as God is working through them to reach the lost, equip believers and comfort the persecuted around the world. You can contact LEADING THE WAY at PO Box 201000, Atlanta, GA 30325 USA or 1-800-377-5323.

“Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me” (Matthew 25:40).
