There are many that think, and therefore believe that they can act or be “good” and that will get them into heaven. How WRONG can they be? I do not hesitate to say, there is only one way to the Lord and heaven and that is to have your SIN covered by HIS blood from the cross at Calvary! That is it…that is the end to it!
There are many, probably more than one would like to believe that feel this way. They attend church and they know when and where to say “Amen.” They possibly teach Sunday School (youth and adult) and they sit in the pew looking all pious with hands folded in their laps…and they are just as LOST as a serial murderer on death row that hates God! “Oh my, what a horrible thing to say about anyone!” Do you really think so? Sorry if I have bruised your delicate sensibilities! Yet…IT IS THE TRUTH!
“Good” or being good…will NOT get you into heaven!
Luke 18.19: “And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? none is good, save one, that is, God.”
Matthew 16.24: “Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.”
Ephesians 2:8: “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God.”
You may get angry with me all you want, but when the Word of God tells you something, take it to heart, that it is the truth! The biggest factor in anyones life, that proves all that is above, is when you are doing something for the Lord. Are you working to give the Lord the praise and glory or are you doing something to make you or others feel “good” about you. Trust me, it is either one way or the other and you may be able to lie to others, but you can never lie to God!
You can give away billions of dollars to the poor, to help others in some way, but if it isn’t for the Lord, for the honor and glory of the Lord who gave it all to you to begin with, then you have wasted your time, talents and money. Stings doesn’t it!
Yuppers…when it comes to giving to God…it better be for HIS glory and honor because by your fruit…we shall know you…God already knows what your up to. The last thing you would ever want is the disdain of the Lord! Here’s the reason why.
Luke 12.16-20: “And he spake a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully: And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits? And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods. And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry. But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?”
Oopsey! I believe THAT man─is no different than many of us right now, right? The question that we all should be considering is this: “What is my motivation for what I am doing?” If your motivation is for anything short of Jesus Christ, then your motivation and what you are about to do, is WRONG!
One thing is more important than any other, the Bible is “black and white” about everything, there is NO “wiggle room” here. It is for the Lord or it is not…it is that simple! As I have stated before, the Bible is very simple, but then you must be in-line with the Lord to begin with, otherwise all things you do are worthless.
There is one thing, that I am sure just about everyone will know, when it comes to being rich or very talented…by anyone…most will be way too concerned about themselves! “It’s all about ME!” This is the mantra for this day and time, by almost everyone!! Sad to say. If you are willing to look at yourself and actually take a deep look, you will find you are either “worried about you…alone” or “worried about what you have!
The Bible proves to each and everyone of us, that perspective is WRONG and it is wrong in every way possible! Your first thought should be to give the glory for your situation to the one responsible for you being in that spot to begin with…the Lord!
“For without ME…ye can do nothing” (John 15:5).
After coming this far in this article, it would seem to me, that to be any of these things is just ARROGANCE to the LORD! You might want to reread the verses above and then reconsider your situation in the here and now. God loves you and me with an eternal love, but if you “in any way” turn your back on HIM, you are AGAINST HIM and that my friend, brings eternal death! Many people tell me that salvation through Jesus Christ should be easy…trust me when I say that it is easy! The difference is, the condition of your heart. Does it truly belong to the Lord or are you simply giving lip service?
In essence, the Bible is very direct on this issue, “Never assume anything…you MUST KNOW” for sure and anyone that truly knows the Lord as His/Her Savior…will truly understand this. In other words, you can say the words all day, from now to the end of time, but if there is NO heartfelt desire behind it to know the Lord as you personal Savior, you might as well be singing Dixie. Your final eternal destination will be hell.
That my friends, is the point of salvation through the saving blood of Jesus Christ, covering all your SIN. It is an “either or other” sort of situation, and the main ingredient is…YOU…must choose! You either love this world and all it stands for (which is of satan and his ilk) or you give up your life to Jesus Christ. That is the MAIN division point in this life and the reason for this life! The first will get you hell and then the Lake of Fire for all of eternity, the second will get you heaven for all of eternity.
The CHOICE is YOURS…all by YOURSELF…YOU decide…that is the final notice, and it will then be the final destination…all for YOU!
You can call me “old fashioned.” You can even call me, “old timey” or “old school.” either way, I KNOW whom I have believed and I am persuaded that HE will keep that which I have committed unto HIM against that day (2 Timothy 1:12).
And THAT my friends…is enough…for me!! My Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ is everything to me and my life and if I die for this, then so be it and I would be in a unique and wonderful position for having done so. Jesus Christ is everything to me, I am satisfied!
