Unique in Personality! :: by Lucie Kirouac

We have been made for God’s joy to be His family and to serve Him.

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you and before you were born, I consecrated you!” (Jeremiah 1:5).

Isn’t it amazing? You know, we go to the Lord to ask and receive but the Creator of the universe also chose to need our love!

Our temperaments have been designed for God’s specific plans for our lives.

Each personality has strengths and weaknesses that we can work on…

Mental and intellectual handicaps are due to our mortal bodies of sin. Genetics, heredity as well as impaired physical capacities also come from sin. They form a person.

God wants a sound mind for us but he loves and uses us just the way we are. He is in no way limited by our finite minds when we surrender and allow Him to work through the personality He has given us.

“And there are varieties of effects but the same God who works all things in all persons” (1 Corinthians 12:6 ).

God uses us in spite of our differences. Bonding and connecting are essential to develop at any age.

God uses our PASSIONS to help direct us toward the work of building His kingdom.

Our SPIRITUAL GIFTS are designed for ministry to bless the church and help grow the kingdom.

“But to each one of us grace was given according to the measure of God’s gifts” (Ephesians 4:7).

God gave  one of us a HEART.

“As in water, face reflects face, so the heart of man reflects man”  Proverbs 27:19).

The heart reflects what we are interested in and what motivates excites and energizes us. The heart is as individual, unique and as specific as our finger prints or eye scan. It may not be shared by anyone else in quite the same way.

The heart is all about PASSION. God uses the heart for us to have a relationship with Him.

“Serve the Lord with all your heart” (Ephesians 6:6).

Each one of us has been given ABILITIES. These abilities were not given by nature but by God Himself.

“And since we have gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let each one of us exercise them accordingly” (Romans 12:6).

EXPERIENCES: The Lord has given us experiences and a journey of life to help prepare us for service. They are also used to serve others.

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort; who comforts us in all our afflictions so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God” (2 Corinthians 1:4).

God has given us personality traits that fit our calling. He has given us a conscience and creativity to be used in various ways.

We need to be compassionate and Scripture-minded, and use our traits to understand and connect with others. Bonding can help us to re-evaluate many things that we come to know throughout the course of our lives.

We will never have enough of a lifetime to get to know all about ourselves or others. It is very important to know ourselves well. We would have no sense of direction without that ability.

Our first models in life are our parents. Our upbringing will affect our personalities for the rest of our lives.  All our social interactions mould and fashion our character. Is it any wonder why the Lord advises us to carefully choose our close companions and friends?

Our values and morals are defined by the Lord and His Word to guide us in all our ways; priorities, goals and decision making. If we fail to understand His leadership, we set ourselves up for wrong decision making, failures and emotional conflicts.

We should never underestimate the positive influence that we can have on others…

We should do our best with the Lord’s guidance and allow Him to reveal to each of us who we are in Him because we are so individually unique and special! Today there are many resources to do this but the Bible has all the answers we need.

I have made a true Christian online friend who is totally unconditional in his love for me as we share our lives and build each other up in the Lord. We have the joy to express ourselves by writing because it allows us to better communicate and understand each other.

I love writing and composing. Aside from expressing myself through poetry, I could never find a better way to express myself but by writing.  It’s one of my strengths and my passion. I’m on the journey of pushing further to better get acquainted with all that the Lord has blessed me with in mind, heart and soul.

Once we discover who we really are in Christ, we can move forward toward a better relationship with Him and become who He intended us to be.
