Or, is this the end of the spread of Islam as we know it? In my opinion, ISIS, ISIL, Islamic State, whatever they call themselves, are in effect accomplishing the exact opposite of their stated goal. They are actually rapidly bringing about the END of the spread of Islam.
The world will not stand for the absolute uninhibited barbaric genocide that is taking place on their television and smartphone screens nearly non-stop every day. And the devil and his demons know it.
Demons couldn’t care less about Islam. They only care about hating and trying to destroy the God who created them, and His only begotten Son. They want to send as much of His creation to hell as possible in the cruelest manner they can.
The geographic area that ISIS is currently operating in is the same area that encompasses certain biblical locations such as the Tower of Babel (Genesis 11), Babylon (Revelation 17), and the Land of Shinar (Zechariah 5:11). It is also the site of the ancient city of Nineveh visited by the Prophet Jonah which is housed within the great Tigris-Euphrates River Valley. Obviously demons are operating in full force in that prophetically essential part of the world. ISIS has also declared that they’re on their way to Damascus and then on to Jerusalem.
“Then the sixth angel sounded: And I heard a voice from the four horns of the golden altar which is before God, saying to the sixth angel who had the trumpet, “Release the four angels who are bound at the great river Euphrates” (Revelation 9:13-14).
Demons operate on a different timeline than mortal men do. The demonic hordes continue to live on the earth even after those that they have inhabited and inspired are long gone. They know they will be able to operate here on earth until the end of this age when God finally locks them into the bottomless pit. Of course, they have been deceived into believing that according to the power of their master, Satan, they will be capable of defeating the Son of God at the time of the prophesied last battle: Armageddon.
When demons feel like inspiring a horde of barbarians into committing genocide in full view of the world via U.S. drone cameras and their own Twitter accounts, they go ahead and do it. Again, they know that when the idiots they’ve inspired get wiped out by our modern military methods, they themselves will live on to continue with their ultimate mission on earth: To bring about the false peace treaty between Israel and the rest of the world.
How is the world supposed to justify holding hands with Israel while there is still that pesky problem of the declared Muslim Jihad roaming about the Gaza Strip and the West Bank? How can the 3rd Temple be built anywhere near the Dome of the Rock while Islam spreads uninhibited by the world at large?
The obvious answer is that an easier way to bring about these things is without the threat of having to respect and bow down to Islam.
“Then he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week” (Daniel 9:27a).
And all who believe God’s promises know that Israel isn’t going to get weak in the knees any time soon.
