Beloved, the midnight hour is fast approaching. Hatred, deceit and all manner of wickedness abounds on earth. Surely the two beasts prophesied from days of old are lurking in the shadows. Under the control of the prince of darkness, they await their revealing.
In part one I discussed the intensified push toward uniting various religions under the guise of tolerance, and also who is leading this unwise venture. This kind of unity is false unity, and God warns sternly against it. This “agenda” is paving the way for the second beast, the false prophet, whom the apostle John saw in his apocalyptic vision in the book of Revelation.
From GotQuestions.org, describing the false prophet: “He comes like a lamb, winsomely, with persuasive words that elicit sympathy and good will from others. He may be an extraordinary preacher or orator whose demonically empowered words will deceive the multitudes. But he speaks like a dragon, which means his message is the message of a dragon. Revelation 12:9 identifies the dragon as the devil and Satan.”
Now, let’s take a look at what’s going on the political arena.
Whoa! Emerging of the Ten Nation Confederacy?
“Children, it is the last hour, and as you have heard that antichrist is coming, so now many antichrists have come. Therefore we know that it is the last hour” (1 John 2:18).
The apostle John also saw in his vision the first beast, the antichrist. Combining John’s vision with Daniel’s vision, many Bible scholars surmise that this beast will emerge from the leaders of a ten-nation confederacy and will rule the world during the Tribulation. Many believe the European Union (EU) fits the description in John’s vision.
The current 28 member states of the EU have a difficult time agreeing on issues large and small, and many believe it cannot survive in its present form. An EU organization known as “The Berlin Group” or “The Berlin Club” has been formed, which consists of eleven nations: Austria, Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal and Spain. Hal Lindsey and others reported on an April meeting of this group. Ten nations were represented, since France did not attend. At this meeting the group discussed ways to keep the EU from disintegrating. Here is an excerpt from Hal’s report:
“It was a meeting of ten EU foreign ministers that proposed merging the jobs of the European Council president and the European Commission president into one super presidency with superpowers that can see Europe through its current crisis. The creation of a European super presidency being proposed by ten European leaders? There’s that number again. Who could have imagined such a thing until now?” — Hal Lindsey
A New President-elect of the European Commission Has Emerged
While the proposition for one super EU president is under consideration, the terms of the current two EU presidents are ending this year, in 2014. We don’t know yet who will win the vote to be the new European Council president. However, a new European Commission president was just recently elected and will take office in November. His name is Jean-Claude Juncker.
Given the fact that he will be the head of the most powerful of the two EU institutions and will be shaping Europe for the next five years (possibly more if he’s elected to a second term), I wanted to know more about him. ill he emerge as yet another leader that will assist in escorting the world into the global socialistic system, paving the way for the first beast, the antichrist? Let’s find out.
He is from Luxembourg in Western Europe. Although it’s one of the smallest sovereign nations in Europe, Luxembourg has a sophisticated economy and the world’s second highest GDP (PPP) per capita, according to the World Bank. Due to its central location, it has historically been of great strategic importance to numerous powers, dating back to its founding as a Roman fortress in the days of the old Roman Empire.
Despite being seriously injured in a traffic accident in 1989 and spending two weeks in a coma, Juncker recovered and continued to rise up the political ladder in Luxembourg. He served as its prime minister from 1995 to 2013. He was the longest-serving head of government of any European Union country and one of the longest-serving democratically elected leaders in the world by the time he resigned as prime minister. But why did he resign that office?
Last year it was revealed how his secret service spied and kept files on 300,000 of his 500,000 subjects. According to EuropeanDignityWatch.org, there were other irregularities and abuses that involved embezzlement of funds from the Chamber of Deputies to the SREL whose executive chief, at least on paper, was Juncker. He decided to resign as prime minister rather than lose an election for the first time in his career, but obviously this scandal didn’t prevent him from becoming the new European Commission president.
He lives modestly and has been referred to as a pragmatic and ruthless politician, wily and formidable operator, abrasive and secretive. Every source I checked brought up his heavy drinking, which he denies. You’d think a serious drinking problem would have prevented him from reaching such a position as this, but not so.
“Woe unto them that are mighty to drink wine, and men of strength to mingle strong drink” (Isaiah 5:22).
On fundamental societal questions, he is considered to be as distant from Christian-Democratic principles as one can possibly be and has been referred to as “the most socialist Christian Democrat there is.” On April, 21, 2011, Juncker spoke of how he and the EU deals with the financial market and Euro crisis. He said: “I have to lie. I’m a Christian democrat and a Catholic, but when it becomes serious, you have to lie.”
“A faithful witness will not lie: but a false witness will utter lies” (Proverbs 14:5).
Juncker played a large role in promoting the legalization of euthanasia. When the Grand Duke who held executive power at that time opposed it, Juncker threatened to change the country’s Constitution to lessen the Duke’s power and get the law passed. Euthanasia is now legal in Luxembourg. Under Juncker’s fourth and last mandate, Luxembourg legalized abortion on demand. He has expressed his personal support of same sex marriage, pushing different calls for its legalization. Gay marriage has now been legalized in Luxembourg as well as the right of same-sex partners to adopt children. The law will go into effect on January 1, 2015.
“Woe to the world because of the things that cause people to stumble! Such things must come, but woe to the person through whom they come!” (Matthew 18:7).
Juncker’s methods, combined with Luxembourg’s sometimes sinister political culture, have rung alarm bells. Nevertheless Luxembourgers admire him, saying he’s done more than anyone else in the nation’s history to place it at the forefront of European affairs. They point out that Luxembourg’s national debt has been close to zero, or even nonexistent, for so long while he was prime minister.
It sounds like this guy is coated with Teflon. As for his claim of being a Christian Catholic, this is an oxymoron. He opposes Christian principles such as protection of the traditional family, the right to life, loyalty, honesty and political integrity.
“Woe to those who enact evil statutes and to those who constantly record unjust decisions” (Isaiah 10:1).
“There are six things that the Lord hates, seven that are an abomination to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that make haste to run to evil, a false witness who breathes out lies, and one who sows discord among brothers” (Proverbs 6:16-19).
Woe! Another Emerging Threat on the Home Front
“Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain. Unless the Lord watches over the city, the watchman stays awake in vain” (Psalm 127:1). Human watching is useless when it is not accompanied by Divine watching.
Now for the emerging threat on the US home front. I’m not referring here to the teenage gang members we already know about, who’ve been allowed to cross the US border and are recruiting other minors crossing the border to join them. Though gangs are a serious threat, they are not the worst threat to our country these days.
In Hal Lindsey’s August 15, 2014 report, when speaking about the many drug and human trafficking tunnels already in existence underneath the US-Mexican border, he also stated the following: “We have known for years of a significant Hezbollah presence south of the US border. Because of its cash and weapons connection and its ability to launder money, Hezbollah has made itself an ally of existing drug cartels. Whether we intentionally let them in or not, terrorists crossing our southern border now seems inevitable.” —Hal Lindsey
In order to show just how alarmingly vulnerable the US border is, investigative filmmaker James O’Keefe of Project Veritas crossed the border from Mexico into Texas at the 20-foot wide Rio Grande River dressed in Arab garb and donning a realistic full head mask resembling Osama bin Laden (see video source at the end). If he had chosen not to get his feet wet, there is a steel footbridge he could have used to go across. After doing so with ease he said, “I don’t see a single federal officer anywhere; no walls, no guns, no people…If the president or if Senator (Harry) Reid or anyone else tries to tell you that our borders are secure, they are lying to you.”
On Newsmax TV’s “America’s Forum” US Representative Ted Poe of Texas, who is a member of the House Judiciary Committee on Crime, Terrorism and Homeland Security, stated that he believes Mexican drug cartels, who have operational control of many portions of the US southern border and are as vicious as some of the other terrorist organizations, are in regular talks with the Islamist group ISIS. This group is committing horrible, appalling acts and recently stated that it is going to make Americans drown in their own blood.
Watchdog organizations and concerned citizens have warned for several years that the US administration’s careless policy toward immigration and lack of enforcement of border security laws would lead to a major crisis in this country: gangs, drug cartels, human trafficking and terrorist infiltration.
Anyone who believes that Islam is a religion of peace is ignorant of what this religion is about. In the Quran their prophet Mohammed demands that Muslims use any means necessary to conquer the world for Islam.
The Very Fabric of Our Nation
The Christian Action Network organization has investigated and found there are 35 Islamist military warfare training camps spread over 22 states located around the coastline of the USA. In the “Sources” section at the end of this article, I’ve provided websites you can visit to read about this, see videos of these training camps and look at the maps showing where they are located.
From what I’ve gathered, the reason given for allowing Islamic warfare training camps in the US is that they are protected by our Constitution. If it’s freedom of religion the powers that be are referring to, they are not conducting worship services; they’re training in warfare tactics. What would happen if, for example, Christian groups had their own military warfare training camps stationed all around the US? I believe we may already know the answer to that question.
“Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes, and shrewd in their own sight!” (Isaiah 5:21).
The U.S. president issued a statement to Muslims on the occasion of Eid-al-Fitr, the feast they celebrate at the end of the month-long observance of their Ramadan. He said, “In the United States, Eid also reminds us of the many achievements and contributions of Muslim Americans to building the very fabric of our nation and strengthening the core of our democracy.”
Perhaps he’s trying to appease the Islamists or else he really believes it. But the facts dispute such a strongly worded statement. I’m sure there is a percentage of Muslims who have done good things here and who just want to live in peace. But according to historians, it wasn’t until immigration was liberalized in the 1960s that large groups of Muslims began moving here. Before this there were very few here by comparison, and they did not adapt to our culture. (See WND.com, “Muslim Fabric.”)
Speaking of the Constitution that our founding fathers wrote, how did they feel about Islam? Here are a few examples:
From WND.com, “In 1801, President Jefferson sent the Navy to the Barbary Coast to stop Islamic pirates’ reign of terror on US merchant ships. Jefferson read the Quran to understand what was motivating the pirates, and he learned that the Muslim holy book commanded the faithful to “plunder and enslave” non-Muslims.
In 1814, after Tripoli broke its truce and began attacking US ships again, former President John Adams wrote Jefferson a letter advising that Islam’s founder and prophet was a ‘military fanatic.’ In another writing he condemned Islamic law as ‘contemptible.’
John Adams’ son and future president, John Quincy Adams, went further, arguing that the essence of Islam is ‘violence and lust: to exalt the brutal over the spiritual part of human nature.’ He suggested the Quran’s commands to fight and conquer other lands ‘in the cause of Allah’ were at odds with democracy, peace and the Judeo-Christian ethic on which America was founded.’”
The Absence of Sense
“The lips of the righteous nourish many, but fools die for lack of sense” (Proverbs 10:21).
Common sense has died. The following is an excerpt from its obituary, written by author, columnist and speaker Lori Borgman. The full obituary can be found at the link I’ve provided at the end of this article.
“I am mourning the passing of an old friend by the name of Common Sense. His obituary reads as follows: Common Sense…lived a long life, but died from heart failure at the brink of the millennium. No one really knows how old he was; his birth records were long ago entangled in miles and miles of bureaucratic red tape. Known affectionately to close friends as Horse Sense and Sound Thinking…Common Sense was preceded in death by his wife, Discretion; one daughter, Responsibility; and one son, Reason. He is survived by two step-brothers, Half-Wit and Dim-Wit.”
I’d like to quote Hal Lindsey’s closing remarks from his August 15th report, right after he discussed the current crisis. For very good reason he quoted the following scripture:
“Therefore, let us fear if, while a promise remains of entering His rest, any one of you may seem to have come short of it. For indeed we have had good news preached to us, just as they also; but the word they heard did not profit them, because it was not united by faith in those who heard” (Hebrews 4:1-3).
He explained, “You see, God said we should fear Him, and the other thing He said in His Word is you should fear failing to claim His promises that were given to you, to give you peace and rest in time of the worst things going on in the world. Therefore, learn the promises that account for helping you in whatever you need and are experiencing. Don’t fail to claim the promises of God, and count them as more real than the things you see with your eyes and hear with your ears. Claim those promises; learn them! You’re going to need them.”
Emerging and Converging Signs
“Now when these things BEGIN to take place, straighten up and raise your heads, because your redemption is drawing near” (Luke 21:28, emphasis mine).
“So also, when you see ALL these things, you know that He (Jesus) is near, at the very gates. Truly, I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place” (Matthew 24:33-34).
Though many prophecies will reach fulfillment during the Tribulation, we can see right now that all the end time signs foretold by Jesus and His prophets have emerged and are converging (all coming together at once). Here are some of these signs:
· Israel has become a burdensome stone and is at the center of the world’s attention.
· Unrestrained anti-Semitism is forcing more and more Jews to return to Israel.
· Israel is literally surrounded by enemies who want to destroy the tiny nation.
· The nations that will participate in the upcoming wars are aligned as prophesied in the Bible.
· Everywhere you look ethnic group is against ethnic group.
· Wars and rumors of wars abound on earth.
· Russia has risen, has a hook in its jaw and is allied with Iran.
· There are many false religious movements and false prophets.
· The kings of the east are a threat.
· The Euphrates River can be dried to a trickle due to the Ataturk Dam, which will prepare the way for the kings of the east.
· There is a move towards global religion, global government, and global economy.
· Global communication, increase in knowledge
· Ability to travel to and fro in all the earth
· Nuclear capability
· Signs in the sky
· Signs in the earth; creation groaning
· Return of diseases previously eradicated and the worrisome world Ebola threat
· The world is like it was in the days of Noah, corrupt and filled with wickedness.
· Horrible terrorist acts are causing fear in the hearts of people worldwide.
When we combine current events with the fact that ISIS controls 1/3 of Syria, and many terrorist organizations have a base in its city of Damascus, it appears evident that we will soon see the fulfillment of Isaiah 17.
But we who are in Christ have hope. Most of you have heard the following scriptures, but they bear repeating in these troubled times. We need all the encouragement we can get, and hopefully they will reach someone for Christ.
“But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this day should overtake you as a thief.
You are all sons of light and sons of the day. We are not of the night or of darkness.
Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober…For God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ” (1Thessalonians 5:4-6, 9).
“Because you have kept My word about patient endurance, I will keep you FROM the hour of trial that is coming on the whole world, to try those who dwell on the earth” (Revelation 3:10).
Why is this happening?
C.S. Lewis once said, “The last experience of the sinner is the horrible enslavement of the freedom he desired.” Socialism is one example of enslavement; and its individual supporters will find that out soon enough, the way things are going. But I’m referring to enslavement to Satan. Mankind may think it can survive by serving only itself, but this is not so. God says, “Whoever is not with Me is against Me” (Matthew 12:30). We either serve God, or we are serving the devil.
“And if it is evil in your eyes to serve the LORD, choose this day whom you will serve…” (Joshua 24:15).
The nations are telling God they don’t need or want Him. Therefore, God is letting them have their way. And how is that working? Conditions are spiraling down so rapidly that the world is now “circling the drain.” The nations are destroying themselves.
God does nothing without warning first, and we have been warned. “Now I tell you before it comes, that when it does come to pass, you may believe that I am He” (John 13:19)
In Conclusion
“An appalling and horrible thing has happened in the land: the prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests rule at their direction…but what will you do when the end comes?” (Jeremiah 5:30-31).
“The revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show to his servants the things that must soon take place; He made it known by sending his angel to his servant John, who bore witness to the word of God and to the testimony of Jesus Christ, even to all that he saw. Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear, and who keep what is written in it, for the time is near” (Revelation 1:1-3).
“But you must remember, beloved, the predictions of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ. They said to you, “In the last time there will be scoffers, following their own ungodly passions. It is these who cause divisions, worldly people, devoid of the Spirit. But you, beloved, building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ that leads to eternal life” (Jude 1:17-21).
