Deception is also Real :: By Jeff Patty

While searching news articles and stories on the Internet for research and subject material, I came across an article about a neurosurgeon who had a life after death experience. After regaining consciousness from his experience he was quoted as saying, “Heaven is real,” but as with so many other people who claim to have had a near death experience, he seems to have no Christian beliefs, although like so many, he calls himself a Christian, but he doesn’t hold any deep religious beliefs or a faith in the afterlife.

That’s what Christianity has become today, a watered-down belief system based on nothing but feelings. Ephesians 2:8 makes it clear that you have to have faith to be saved, “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God.” And only those that are saved experience Heaven.

Dr. Eben Alexander fell into a coma after taking a nasty fall. Apparently his neocortex ceased functioning and that’s when he had the life-changing experience of the afterlife, especially Heaven.

Alexander went on to describe what he experienced in Heaven. He said he found himself floating above the clouds and saw shimmering beings flying around and leaving colorful trails of light. He said he was accompanied by a female being that communicated with him on some higher level. He said she spoke some universal wisdom to him and apparently this is some of what she said:

“You are loved and cherished, dearly, forever.”

“You have nothing to fear.”

“There is nothing you can do wrong.”

Now, he’s supposedly in Heaven, yet this being, this “angel” has nothing to say about God, or more specifically, Jesus? Very generic stuff. Fluff. I don’t believe Alexander experienced Heaven at all, but a deceptive reality. An elaborate hoax perpetrated by demons. I do believe he experienced something beyond a dream, but it wasn’t Heaven.

Satan is a liar and a deceiver as John 8:44 says, “Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.” Satan and his minions can also appear as angels of light, whether in this reality or another, “And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.” 2 Cor. 11:14

Alexander was quoted as saying that he traveled to “An immense void, completely dark, infinite in size, yet also infinitely comforting.” He says he believes this dark void is the home of God. Okay, that’s a lie right out of the pit. Want proof? Here you go:

“This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.” 1 John 1:5

Or how about:

“And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.” Rev 21:23

Or:

“And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever.” Rev 22:5

Satan is the god of darkness, not God Jehovah.

I believe that Dr. Alexander had a real near-death experience. But it was not what it appeared to be. And it’s a horrible, massive deception, not only for Alexander, but for everyone he talks to and reaches (he’s writing a book), because it leaves them with the wrong assumption that everything is going to be okay no matter what they believe or how they live. Heaven awaits you if you’re a good person. “As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one” Romans 3:10

1 Timothy 4:1-2 says that in the last days people will heed seducing spirits and doctrines of devils, believing lies. That’s what happened in this case, and it’s happening at a breakneck pace around us daily.

Dr. Alexander says Heaven is real. Yes, it is.

So is deception.
